I have perfect vision during the day, the only issues i ever have are with digital things far away, i get a blur on, but even then its very minor, but at night other people's headlights and the road lights block everything, i can't even see the centerline because of other people's lights/streetlights. The only time I can see is out in the country when there's no one coming because of the nice reflective yellow line. Should I get glasses for this or just get better headlights? Thanks!

I got my new glasses and I'm glad I went with these green ones. Thanks for the advice on my last post! They have a 15% FL-41 tint which the optician said she thought would help with my migraines without compromising my colour perception too much for me to do art. I'm surprised at how subtle the tint looks in these photos but they do make light look noticeably less harsh to me.
Some people on my last post said they wondered if all the frames I tried were too wide but seeing as I had no front facing photos it was hard to tell so I've put some here. I hope they don't look too big.
My old glasses are being turned into prescription sunglasses.

Astigmatism in my 2-year-old: Should we start glasses or wait for his eyes to develop?
My son is two and has never shown any obvious signs of vision problems. However, because I have astigmatism and hate wearing glasses, I wanted his eyes checked from birth.
After several checkups and a hospital referral, he has now been prescribed glasses:
Right eye: +1.00 sphere, −1.25 cylinder
Left eye: +1.75 sphere, −2.00 cylinder
Neither my husband nor my parents or siblings have astigmatism, although both our extended families have people who wear glasses.
My own experience makes me wonder whether his prescription might improve naturally. I was diagnosed with astigmatism at around 10 but rarely wore glasses until I was 18. By then, my prescription had improved considerably, reportedly to around half its previous strength.
Now I’m wondering whether my son’s eyes might also change as he grows. He’s only two, and I’m confused about whether to start glasses immediately or ask about monitoring his eyes first.
I’m particularly looking for experiences from parents whose toddlers had similar prescription values.
Did your child’s astigmatism improve as they grew? Did you start glasses immediately, or did your doctor recommend monitoring? If they wore glasses from age two, did their prescription eventually decrease?
I don’t want my dislike of glasses or my personal experience to influence a decision that could affect my son’s vision. I just want to understand my options and hear from parents who’ve been through something similar.
Thank you! ❤️

Just got a pair of glasses for 150€ and I have only ~ -1 on both eyes and was wondering if corneal curvature affects the way I see or could I just get any cheap pairs of -1 dioptrin glasses?

I have a Lenskart eyeglass frame with colorful graphics printed on the temples (side arms). I’d like to make it look clean and minimal by removing the graphics.
I’m pretty sure it’s a factory-printed design, not a sticker.

I just got back from an eye test and got a new prescription where the optometrist told me my vision had gotten worse within a year. I told him I am prescribed glasses but never wear them because I don’t really need to personally and I feel fine doing tasks without them. When he told me my vision had gotten worse, he said this was because I hadn’t been wearing my glasses. Is this true?

As the title suggests, I am currently on the scout for a new pair of glasses as i’ve had these for about 6 years now and I feel like it’s time for something different, I came here in search of advice on what style of frames to get to complement my head shape, i’m at a decision paralysis

This year I decided to get new glasses and decided to go with a Kendra Scott wired rim pair (decently big frames). I’ve had the WORST time with these glasses. I’ve had these since April and still have no gotten a good fit on them. I do have a higher prescription and wasn’t aware that the bigger the frame, the thicker the lenses as I’ve always went with smaller frames. I’ve been to 4 different offices for adjustments (lenscrafters did give me the best fit so far) but I’m still having constant rubbing on my right nose pad, temple arms feel as though they are sitting directly on top of my ear, and they feel crooked on my face.
I really liked the fit from LensCrafters but it feels as though something has shifted and they are out of alignment again. Is this a common thing with wired glasses?

I wear them for my mild astigmatism and I noticed if I slept too little or feel my head extra heavy and dizzy, when I put on my glasses it hurts, it's like my eyes try to compete with eachother and my vision feels trippy like i'm drunk? One of the eyes might even tear a bit and overall just feel like i'll start to spin and get nauseous. If I take them off I have literally no issues.
Yday when I slept 10 hours? Nothing. Just good vision and that's it. Does this mean anything?

I recently switched to a new optometrist, got a new prescription, glasses and contacts. I can see perfectly fine with my contacts but I can’t see out of glasses. The strange part is it’s only the left lens that I can’t see out of. I took them back, they retested the glasses and redid my eye test. The glasses and my test said the same thing as before, but they still sent the glasses back to the lab to redo them. I get them back and same issue happened (the left is still blurry but in a different way if that makes sense). Before I switched doctors I sorta had the same problem but a lot less intense (I couldn’t see around the edges)
So I just got a refund, but I’m scared to go to a different place and the same issue happens, especially since I don’t really know why??
If it helps, my prescription is:
Left: -2.25, Right: -3.00
I also have astigmatism in both eyes, in different directions.
Please tell me I’m not the only one :(
Note: I’m not too familiar with Reddit, so I’m sorry if the formatting is awkward :)

As the topic title says, I just got new glasses. However, my vision gets distorted on the bottom when I look up, and I'm having a hard time reading certain screens, like the one in the car. I oddly can read my phone fine, and other words look great. The curving when I look up is making it hard to walk, as everything is getting distorted. Is this something that will go away, or is it the glasses?
I got a second pair of glasses as well, and these don't do that. But the sides are also over stretched, something I need to get fixed soon. (I didn't realize it until later, it felt fine in the store, and then I realized the sides are HUGE when I got home and that I had not opened them all the way when I put them on), so it could if they fit right.
I also am not sure if these glasses are high index. They look really thick. I paid for high index for one of the pairs. The first are my new ones (supposedly high index), second is the pair that doesn't distort, and third are my old ones (also were high index). My new lenses look really thick, and they aren't supposed to. My vision changed by 1 point, yes, but to make that much of a difference? Finally, if it matters, my vision is terrible and I do have astigmatism. Thanks in advance.

First time posting here since I’m getting desperate to find these for cosplay, but I’m trying to find the glasses/sunglasses that Hal Jordan wears in episode 5 of Lanterns
I’ve seen that it could be Moncler Diffractor ML0206, ML0089, or that it is some sort of welding/blue light glasses. It could be entirely custom for the show, but I’m not sure
Any help would be appreciated in trying to find out what glasses these are! Thank you!

Hi, I am 26f. I recently had an eye test done where I was recommended glasses as my vision tends to be blurry (very slightly) at a distance which causes some strain. I only realized when I friend could read a sign that I couldnt. I only got them yesterday but feel like I do not notice too much of a difference. My eyes are still adjusting to the lenses though. Should I give it some time to see if it improves?

I have worn glasses my whole life. I am an adult now, and I work in Cell Phone Repair. So as you imagine, my glasses scratch up quick quick (Due to sometimes flying debris). I never pay for the extra coatings and layers they offer when i get my glasses. But i want to know if those extra layers are worth it, like what will be good to pay extra for that can extend my glasses lifespan?

I got glasses at 13 and since then to now (19) every time I try wearing various ones I always either get a really bad pain behind my ears and either light headed or a bad headache, or if I take it off my ear and leave it on my nose, my nose starts to pain and I get a headache.
I’ve had a few pairs but I just can’t make it. My mom worked at an optical and I’ve tried out a bunch but I just keep getting told you need to get accustom to the frames. Recently I got a large pair of meta rayband and the same thing.
Has anyone else had this problem before and if so, any tips? I’m a student pilot so my glasses are required to fly though I don’t really wear them otherwise. I have decent vision but wearing them I notice it’s slight less blurry compared to what I normally see.

Usually I'll have eyeglasses that get scratched lenses way before the frames are an issue.
Any of the online eyeglass companies offer just lens replacements for a past order of one of their frames?
r/glasses • u/ChillCaptain • 2h ago
Let’s say you have 2 prescriptions.
Both prescriptions use:
-1.50 sphere
-0.50 cylinder
But one has axis 175 and the other has axis of 5.
How is the axis value manufactured into the lens? Is it in the lens? If an optometrist were to get my glasses, would they be able to tell me the axis value?

I'm looking for some very specific glasses and can't seem to find a reliable website to order from. :/ I have a pretty heavy prescription too, so some frames are out of reach for me.
I'm looking specifically for large/x-large circular rimless frames. Not oval or geometric. Well made and not $200.
I'm desperate. 😩

Where to find a anti blue light glasses if I have a big nose
