Tech Help Anyone else's Geoguessr do this?
Im guessing its because i have ALM installed, but does anyone know how to fix this issue? It just started for some reason. the map only shows like 1/4 the map sometimes and it's a little frustrating during competitive matches.

Memes and Streetview Finds Bullet holes in Corsican road signs
A Corsican friend of mine told me: "If you see bullet holes in road signs you know you are in Corsica". Well, turned out she was right. Helped me when I was 25k-ing France (of course the language is a tell too).

Game Discussion Best and worst 3 countries
Over time there have been fun additions to the game including the introduction of the analytics page. You can see for every country in which regions you perform better and worse, great! On top of that we have the best 3 and worst 3 for ourselves and our opponents available in duels, exciting stuff and useful during the duel. Additionally, we also know where to work on, and have data to back up our understanding of our performance or lack thereof. So upon introduction of the feature, I took a look and as expected USA was my worst, always has been as I knew almost barely anything about it geographically. Great, let's fix some knowledge holes and get it out of the list quickly.
So I started to study some stuff like highway signs, colorful/recognizable number plates, west half phone numbers, and have improved the static regionguessing based on climate, trees and overall landscape. There is a ton more to learn and some stuff gets rusty over time. I would say it still is not my best country but it keeps listed as my worst, which feels untrue and is mostly disheartening.
This begs the question how the worst 3 and best 3 are calculated. This is supposedly done by ordering the list of countries by the sum of historically scored points differences to the opponent for each guess, for each country. So if I get 4000 points in a Mexico round and my opponent 3250, then 750 will be added to my Mexico sum/tally; or subtracted if it were the other way around. Which, fair enough, is a method you can choose to use. Personally I would love to see a metric that is not skewed towards bigger countries as much, but that point is merely secondary to the post.
Combining the previous here, it would be awesome to have visible in our analytics page the current points tally on each country page and additionally a personal ordered list of points per country so that we can directly see how much we need for a country to have it moved up in our own ranking.
Would love to read if people feel similar about the best and worst 3 statistic and maybe have some ideas about a fairer country performance metric.
May the hedges ever be Belarussian for you.

Game Discussion Did an insanely lucky guess on turbo and I'm afraid the other person might think I cheated

Replay: GeoGuessr - Let's explore the world!
I was playing Turbo ranked after not playing a ranked duel for quite some time and landed on a Switzerland/Germany-looking Italy. I confirmed it was Italy because there was a sign with the Italian word for river, but since it's a word that's not similar to any other language that I know, I decided to risk a crazy fast guess instead of giving the opponent time to figure out where we were (there was also something else written in Italian on another sign but I didn't notice at the time, luckily I think the guy went Romania or something).
So I didn't even zoom-in the map properly, just clicked somewhere randomly where I thought would look like Germany but also a bit flat, and ended up with an unbelievable 4996 score. If you see the rest of the replays, you will see that I didn't do particularly good in most of the rounds except this one and the last one, but I ended up winning. The guy said something on the chat that makes me think I might get reported and I'm afraid??? because I really didn't have enough evidence to plonk it so well, it was sheer dumb luck, plus my rating is not that bad but far from fantastic (502 before the win). But I guess I have to wait and see...

Memes and Streetview Finds A friendship, somewhere in 2014
Does anybody else get this weird sadness while playing GeoGuessr? I found these two kids somewhere in remote Mexico, in a capture from 2014, and I’ve spent so long looking at them that I’ve forgotten about the game. They look like they’re walking home from school. The girl seems to notice the car and tell the boy, and then they start posing and waving. Look at the third picture and the last one. I keep thinking about them laughing over this for a bit, then carrying on with their conversation once the car was gone. Twelve years have passed since then. I wonder whether they still talk, whether either of them ever thinks about this road or the person they used to walk along it with. They could see these pictures and remember exactly what they were like together but I doubt that. I only get these few seconds. I don’t even know their names, and somehow I want to ask them how everything turned out.
I think some of the sadness is regret. Seeing them makes me wish I hadn’t been in such a hurry to get older. There are ordinary days I barely paid attention to that I’d like to have back now, even just for the walk home. When you see someone every day, you don’t think much about it. You can leave a conversation unfinished because you’ll see them tomorrow. I miss how certain that used to feel. Looking at these two, I wonder how many more walks they had together after this one.
They don’t know about my existence. They have no idea someone is looking at an old picture of them and hoping they’re okay. And I’ll probably never find out. Eventually I’ll close the game and go back to my own day, but I keep putting it off and going back a few clicks to see them wave again. I wish there were another picture, years later, where I could see them together and think, oh, good. They’re still friends. To me this should be on the voyager, this is humane and humanity

Game Discussion I seem to have been reset back to Silver 1?
I played competitively a bunch last autumn, and got up to Gold 1 I believe. Then I took a very long break and I see now I'm in Silver 1. Which is fair, I didn't play competitive all of 2026.
Does anyone know how active you have to be to avoid being reset like this?
