Post image

How should I properly clean the dust build up carefully? Is there anything specific that I should use?

Take it outside and blow it out. Careful with the fans.

Hello Unbeatable_Honor, and thank you for your submission to Gaming PC! If you are new please check out our rules over at the wiki here! We have recently added the useful feature of Title Flair! You can set this manually by clicking Flair under your post once you have submitted your post, but if you missed it in the rules there is a much better way that will automatically flair your post!

To do this simply add what your post is about in brackets before your title. For example for a Build Log you can type [Build Log] before your post so that it looks like this; [Build Log]My new awesome build!, and the bot will automatically set your flair to Build Log! This works for Build Log, Build Showcase, News, Hardware News, Hardware Release, Discussion, and Miscellaneous!

Also remember that this is a place for discussing and sharing our love of Gaming Computers! This is NOT the place for help building or determining what parts you should buy, that is better suited for /r/buildapc. Troubleshooting questions should be directed to /r/techsupport. Thank you again!

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

I’ve been using an air compressor and vacuum brush for going on 30 years on PC’s. Never had a single problem and I OC’d with liquid nitrogen in the 90’s for bragging rights - got to number 3 among AMD K6’s😂

Shout out to Frys Electronics in Silicon Valley for their generous return policy!

PC’s are pretty tough these days. An obvious exception is the giant video cards torquing the PCI slot. At work, we rent mini pcs (integrated vid on die) and they get tossed around for years and simply will not die. We even bounce a pair of i9 RTX 5090’s all over the interstate inside tractor trailers and they fair just fine because we always ship with the RTX’s perpendicular to gravity. In the paper boxes they came in!!!

compressed air in short bursts, and hold the fans still with a finger so they don't free-spin. do it outside, dust is the whole point.

isopropyl 99% and a microfibre for anything stubborn. no household vacuum inside the case, that's how you kill parts with static.

Do not use compressed air cans, 90% of the time people use em wrong and it can break the PC, use dry cloth or the best tool for cleaning a PC, A SOFT PAINTBRUSH, thats it
