Oddly enough, Funkadelic's legacy doesn't get its due precisely >because< P-Funk are still so relevant. It's cool to see that George Clinton's body of work continues to resonate so widely decades after the fact, but in this case I think it's a double-edged sword. Because when you say "P-Funk," it conjures all these outlandish images and sounds --- not to mention the textbook definition of late-'70s funk --- but not so much the trailblazing psych rock aspect that defines that first handful of Funkadelic albums. Like so many artists who are so popular they become household names, there's an entire chapter of their history that's almost forgotten about even though so many people know who they are.

New music from one of my favorite funk outfits! There are a couple other singles out and a new album on the way 😎

Cheers!

Just kicking it - xscape

Signs - snoop dogg/charli wilson

Creep - TLC.

Im sure not all of these align with “funk” but just a general vibe I’ve been enjoying, curious if anyone cares to share some song or band recommendations

You listen to something new by accident every day...

You've got two intergenerational talents about 30 years apart doing a crossover.

You've also got two groups who are in the Grammy Hall of Fame, then this happens?

They didn't remix her. She's actually over here, hi I'm Chaka Kahn and this is live.

I'm honestly amused, what was Chaka Khan doing on a De La Soul song?

You've got someone who's performed with Sly and Rufus, and she ends up left of centre over here with De La Soul?

I love to be confused by music I missed.
