Personality-wise, I'm quite an antisocial person at times, and I tend to keep to myself and not always open up easily. But underneath that, I really do appreciate genuine connections and having someone I can feel comfortable being myself around. Someone I can be silly with one minute and have a genuinely deep, meaningful conversation with the next.

Ultimately, I'm hoping to find someone who understands me emotionally, someone I can connect with on a deeper level, and hopefully someone I can feel close to both emotionally and physically, if we develop that kind of connection.

I’m 29, (AMAB) and in the process of questioning my gender, and trying to navigate all the goes along with that. I live in a smaller town that’s quite conservative leaning (not to mention my family is very conservative leaning) so coming out to my friends and family that I’m even questioning these things is a quite scary, or just not an option to maintain being a functioning adult. Hi, I've been trying to make friends for a while now, but i can't find anybody. I only have one friend and hes purely online. I stay inside most of the time and its all just incredibly lonely and im just tired of having nobody to talk to. I like making art, writing and sometimes i play the guitar. I am 32f who has recently gone through a really tough time and moved into a houseshare where I’ve gotten on really well with all of my housemates where we have met for food and drinks before. I’ve grown close with one housemate and we’ve become good friends, I’ve always struggled making friends so feel good about. However I’ve got a friend who is actually starting to annoy me because she’s acting like a b word to my housemate just because we are friends. For example she told another mutual friend that she thinks she looks like a c word but doesn’t even know her. She’s admitted she’s jealous but it’s getting to the point she’s almost picking on her for no reason and now I feel guilty for making a new friend but also angry at my other friend for how she’s been acting.
Another example would be that I was worried I couldn’t contact my housemate at all and she was like 3hrs late for work which is mega unlike her and I asked if I could run home to check on her and my friends response was boo hoo she’s probably fine yet when her friend/housemate attempted I came running to work and covered so she could go home

Im 30, from the state of Ohio, and i have a wide variety of hobbies and interests. I try and keep it balanced between my nerdy guilty pleasures like DnD and Magic the Gathering and my more active hobbies like trail running and hiking. I usually love spending time outdoors and really love gardening and plants. At home I have a vegetable garden and in my office at work i have 5 different variety of pothos, a ficus, and a jade plant! As for work im in Medical Administration with a focus on nuclear medicine and radiology. Im also an Air Force veteran and was in the command support field. I have a soft spot for healthcare workers and veterans considering I work for the VA. I love taking care of people and my job let's me take care of the people which enables them to take better care of our patients.

I never had any real friends in real life I have always felt lonely.

When i was a kid my parents used to live in rented houses and they used to move a lot and the more a grew up the hard it became to make friends in new societies

My gf and I (both 24) are leaving on a big trip next week, we’ll be away for 5 months. We’re trying to see all of our friends before we leave but it seems like none of them truly care to see us.

Almost none of them except two reached out to us to see us. All the others didn’t say a word until we asked them to meet. On top of that it’s been a hassle, it’s hard to find a time to meet, everyone wants to do things on their own terms.

I’m also confused because a lot of them tell us we’re some of their closest friends, and yet they don’t act like it.

We have two couple friends that we hung out a lot with respectively this summer. We live in a big city, commutes can take up to an hour, but it’s pretty normalized bc the housing market is tight so you can’t really choose where you live. These two couples happen to both live in the richer part of town (which is ofc rather central but not the most central either), while my gf and I live more on the edge of town. We are always willing to go places for people (but from a lot of areas it also “only” takes 30min to us), but for these two couples we always go to their area or their house.

Their neighborhood is incredibly expensive, it takes us 50min to get there but they won’t even come to a different neighborhood half way. One couple works full time, we don’t, so I understand, but we also have to organize a lot of things for the trip. One of them came to our apartment once months ago and then said jokingly (not jokingly) “I came now, so you can’t say anymore that I never come your way”. She never came again. Every time we meet they ask us to come their way. They’re leaving over the weekend to a city 2h away and asked us to come to them bc they have to “pack” (for a weekend trip). We’re leaving on Tuesday, for 5 months. We have to pack. Both of these couples are also financially super comfortable, they take Ubers everywhere. My gf recently graduated so she doesn’t have her student ticket anymore, she pays for every train fare which is now 4€ one way. We are saving 50% of our salaries for our trip. The other couple makes 7-8k after taxes. No kids. I wish they’d just take their damn Ubers to our apartment once. Or an area in the middle.

The thing that pisses me off the most is the entitlement. They expect us to come. They say “but we’re working” as an argument all the time. I work tonight, longer than they are, in a service job. And I’m still going to their place only to take a damn 50min train at 10 in the night. There is no compromise.

I know we probably won’t be friends with them when we come back, but I’m a little angry. I feel taken for granted. While one of them keeps telling us we’re the only friends she actually wants to see.

I'm 33F and recently blocked a friend I've known for over two years. She's a lovely person, and we got along well initially, but things changed after I gave her my Instagram. She wanted to communicate daily, which I told her was a lot for me, especially on IG.

Over time, she'd leave my messages on read for weeks while posting on social media and spending time with other friends. She'd still send me memes and reels in between, then message when she needed emotional support. I even told her that if she was busy and couldn't respond, she could just let me know.

In July, I opened up about my family not wishing me happy birthday, something I rarely do. She responded sympathetically but then shifted the conversation to her own problems. I listened and supported her, but she left my response on read for a month, continued sending memes and reels, then eventually sent eight long messages about her life without acknowledging our previous conversation.

We were meant to meet in August, but I cancelled because I'd have to travel 1.5 hours to where she lives, and I was already feeling drained. I suggested that if she came into London, we could go out for the evening instead, but she later visited London without telling me.

Shortly afterwards, she posted on Substack about needing a "listening ear" because wedding planning was stressful. I'm the only person in her friend group who follows her there, and I'd literally listened to her that same week.

I don't think she's a bad person, but the friendship started feeling emotionally draining and one-sided, so I blocked her. I felt bad because I was going through my own shit too but was still happy to support her. She still likes my posts on LinkedIn so I feel guilty

I love video game lore I spent many hours reading and watching videos about fallout and Star Wars lore and many others like Witcher and elder scrolls and many smaller ones like fable and stuff

I also like reading sci fi and fantasy books like Star Wars the expanse and the lord of the rings and eragon and other series

I like going on nice walks and learning history big fan of Roman and Japanese history but also like a European and other history

and I like reading hellboy and bprd comics

I may not read much but I love learning about dc comic books

and I play many different kinds of video games like jrpgs like dragon quest final fantasy and trails in the sky doom and destiny

I like other games like dark souls 1 ashen fallout rage 2 and metal gear solid enderal gothic 2 but also crpgs like baldurs gate 1 and 2 pillars of eternity and one of my favorite series of games avernum

and my favorite tv shows are stargate sg1 and Merlin then I also watched the first seasons of supernatural and thought it was pretty good and some of the series lost

Movies I like is Star Wars Indiana jones pirates of the caribbean the lord of the rings movies and more

and I like anime like full metal alchemist brotherhood gundam and bleach used to watch a lot of fairy tail to back in the Day and i read the claymore manga

When I was younger I watched cartoons like transformers prime gravity falls justice league animated and more
