Was laughing hard when I randomly encountered this Great Wall of Monks, they swooped my ass in this battle tho.

.

I avenged myself properly after restarting my setup, this is one of the most fun engagements I had in this game.

PS. I finished this game and now playing FFTA, the plot difference is, idk, I can't put into words how much "dofference" there is, but Tactics is Tactics and I'm enjoying the game rn. Going back to Marcheee 🐑.

For years I also drooled over the maps in Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced, and Tactics Ogre ~ so I finally made my own map builder game! Creating to your hearts content, each map location has 2 requirements you must meet and some prebuilt terrain for you to work with. But of course there's also a Sandbox mode to go wild with!

Demo / Wishlist here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5281980/Tactics_Cartographer/

Which Tactics game is your favorite, and what would you like to build or play with in an isometric pixel universe?

FFT Showing off my new knight squad!

Hi, everyone. I'd like to thank everyone who commented on my previous post and give an update on how I decided to build my knights, with a little explanation of the thought process behind each unit. Starting with:

Agrias: At first I was going to give summons to Lavian and leave her with geomancy. Then I realized she has the most HP of the whole team and enough MP to cast Golem even without a robe. I also gave her Moogle, Lich and Sylph for varied support capabilities.

Mustadio: Big thanks to Zazieranyday for recommending the companion app. Not a lot of knight builds there, but the Gun Knight one for mustadio immediatly caught my interest, specially since a lot of comment suggested a knight with guns. A fun fact I found out about machinist in the TLW remix mod is that the snipe secondary has innate equip guns built in, freeing up the support skill slot for stuff like concentrate and attack up. At some point I might just ditch the shield and pick dual wielding, we'll see.

Joanna: This build was heavily inspired on TitaniumLegman's Paladin build, so not much to say besides how easy it is to set up. I gave her abandon for now, but I might switch back to weapon guard once I get a defender. Hard to improve perfection.

Alicia: Huge thanks to Nyzer for recommending an archer/knight hybrid for disruption. Also to adratlas and Major-Corner for recommending mixing aim and dual wield with arts of war, I'm a bit surprised those three synergize so well. I'm often tempted to just switch her to ninja for extra speed or archer for dual crossbow action, but I already have another unit for that.

Lavian: By far the build I've been most indecisive about, since I already have a dedicated Mystic. I left her with equip spear and martial arts for a decent while, but since so many people recommended a knight with mystic arts, I decided to keep her like that for now. I'm still considering giving her a spear or doublehand later along the line, though. Or maybe I'll turn her into a tanky barehanded knight, who knows! Btw, thanks to LancerGreen for reminding me of swiftcast, I still gotta train that on Agrias.

Anyway, I'm off to raid a church library and beat up some zealots. Wish me Luck!

Self Promotion [Promotion] Thought you all might be interested in a game I've been working on for years

I've been working on a game inspired by Final Fantasy Tactics. FFT was the first game I ever got addicted to, on the PS1 probably 20+ years ago.

I originally started this project like 6 years ago, before the AI era. I had a working game, made in Unity, but one of my main goals was to support PvP, and I really struggled to make that work, so I gave up for a while. Then AI came around, and I saw that it could help me get the game to the finish line. I worked on it again for a year or so, this time using Godot, but eventually put it on hold as I had some other projects that I was focusing on instead, life got busy, etc.

Well in the last year or so I decided to pick this back up and I'm very happy with how it's been coming along. It's still a long ways out from being a finished product, but I wanted to share with this subreddit because I thought you all might be interested and I'm quite proud of it. I enjoy playing it myself, even if it's just against a bot player for now.

The game itself is heavily inspired by FFT but with MOBA elements included. I recorded myself playing a game and uploaded it to YouTube for anyone who wants to take a look. Happy to answer any questions you might have or explain more about the game. Thanks

FFT Ivalice Chronicles Should I restart?

To preface, I don't want this post to come off as me hating the game. I do like the story, the characters, and the designs. The last time I played I was at the beginning of chapter 4. Since then I took a few months as a break from the game. So should I just restart?

Here was my team comp:

Ramza - monk/gallant knight

A dragoon (with aim for whatever reason)

A black mage/summoner

A mystic/ white mage

Orlandeau - sword saint

I remember very vividly playing through the game on knight difficulty until I had to fight the first demon. It was very hard and I just switched to Squire for the rest of the game, and even then I thought it was pretty hard (especially with every boss fight).

The reason I want to restart is because I felt very cheap going through the game on easy mode. I want to enjoy the gameplay and the only way I think I would is by replaying on normal. That way I actually have to engage with thr mechanics. I would usually get stuck on a fight, look up what I have to do, and grind a person's job to something different. Idk, I didn't like the gameplay loop.

Is that a good idea? Horrible idea? Anything I should know?

There’s no rule against giving Ramza a gun

With attack boost and poach and haste you just do 500 damage to half the map whenever you want
