As any post that starts with "is thing possible" The answer is yes, but probably not if you have to ask. We don't know army quality comparisons or fleet powers. General advice: dont care about the colonies, focus on the continent. Try to focus on opponents one at a time sieging them 100%. Ragusa, Genoa and Trent might be the easiest to take out of the war. France and Commonwealth are quality powerhouses normally so they should be fine.

Their fleet is way better

That only matters if you want to take stuff from Britain.

You could send one army to the new world, brat the British colonial forces and demand that land to get Britain out of the war.

France should be able to take out aragon on its own if you haven't taken lands in occitan.

Or if you want to take Venedig. You can, sometimes, lure the fleet away long enough to march over and you should do it if you get the chance. But pick another war goal.

Yes, you have more troops and the war goal is on the continent. Just be prepared for France to fail and peace out.

How? They fuck me 5 seconds after the war starts

Let them siege your mt forts taking attrition. Then when they are close to taking the fort attack with everything and win the battle. Repeat a few times to drain manpower and then go on offensive.

Keep troops ready to attack anyone landing in southern lands and then move them north to fight when the time comes.

If they focus on sieging your Allie’s go siege a fort yourself in Austria. This will either redirect the AI troops or you get a fort as well

Your allies have the same troop numbers. The commonwealth and France should be right on Austria's ass as soon as you declare, assuming they aren't busy with other wars. You'll have to hold out until they get there. You also have 2k ducats to hire mercs if you need them. You might get rolled in the colonies but if the war goal is in Europe that's all that matters.

There might be something wrong with your technology or army composition then, because you seem to have a decently sized army and Austria isn't a powerhose either. Did you fight in bad terrain or with a bad general?

Idk

Look up a complete EU4 combat guide, numbers wise this should be a trivial war to win.

Why are you letting attrition eat you armies while at peace ? I don't get it

Britain is almost a non factor in this case due to how awful their army+ landing is, plus France easily has the strongest army in the game at this point, you encircle Austria and the HRE minors. Aragon might be a pain but France’s forts should destroy hold them back

You should be able to link up with France and rush Aragon to get a white peace. Commonwealth might eat shit in the meantime, that's their problem. Don't worry about the UK.

If the UK is bringing their navy and stopping you from landing on Venice, make Treviso the war goal instead.

Yes, this should be relatively easy actually, if your army quality, technologies, ideas etc. are on par. My suggestions would be:

  • Pick a the right war goal, one that you can occupy and holf easily.
  • Use terrain to your advantage by luring the enemy into attacks/sieges in mountain provinces and bleed them dry of manpower this way.
  • Try to link up with your allies.
  • Try to separate peace out Austrias allies. It should be reasonably easy to get everyone one of them except GB out of the war relatively early on.
  • Ignore the New World, Great Britain will dominate there and there isn't much you can do about it.
  • France and the Commonwealth are strong allies, while GB is often a paper tiger that doesn't manage to do much in continental Europe. Also, France will probably destroy Aragon early on all by themselves.

Of course it is, especially if you decide to go bankrupt in the process

Should be fairly straightforward. Hire a mercenary army or two if you’re nervous about your abilities, but you should be able to just immediately move on Aragon and Genoa and sign peace with them while Austria bleeds out in Ferrara and Brescia with Commonwealth attacks from the other side. Then just bum rush Wien and Trent and maybe naval invade London if you want to peace out with some Canadian territory too (assuming you have enough naval power).

Never use island as casus belli, it’s a horrible idea

Depends on your navy, it can be an absolute freebie.

In this case, looking at OP's navy size it is not a great idea.

Outside of a game like the knights where you intentionally want to limit yourself to islands only for example, you never want to invest heavily into a navy as it’s a waste of money, to attack and later defend an island you need to beat the enemy navies and you can just avoid them if you don’t have to siege it, islands with forts are also rare so you can generally avoid building a navy for this limited use. For invading England you use a kamikaze fleet to engage the English navy while your transports lands troops.

If your game requires overseas power projection navies are an absolute necessity, you're not going to dominate the new world if you're relying on kamikaze fleets, shutting down your colonial rivals ability to reinforce the new world makes things much easier and can allow your colonial states to win on their own

My point is that no game really needs it, you kill Spain not their colonies and even if you want to siege the colonies instead of getting them for free by annexing Spain, you would just use transport with a small kamikaze fleet to protect the landing and this is needed once like with England, when you have land in the americas you can just land troops there at peace or hire mercs at war if needed. By spending on a navy you are wasting a lot of income on something that’s very situational at best and pointless to me as I mentioned as I don’t plan on fighting the enemies navies.

2

u/SadSession42 10h ago

If you're playing wide enough that tanking the AE and eating spain itself instead of its colonies is optimal you can afford a navy that can shitstomp everyone elses, the only time you can't while playing wide is if you're rushing an early-as-possivle WC

You're just kneecapping your own capabilities for no reason at that point

I like to ally Trent every time if I play in northern Italy it’s an OPM minor on a mountain fort pass. There’s a 100% chance Austria and their allies will try to siege Trent and you can relief the siege and win big battles there and since there an OPM you gain favors on them rather quickly and they’ll join nearly every war. They’re also not required to fulfill any of the missions in the Italian tree if I remember correctly so they can easily be a long term ally.
