Can't Get an Environmental Science Job?

Hello,

I was just curious if there is anyone else in the community of environmental science that is struggling to find a job opportunity. I've been graduated with bachelor's in water resources and a minor in Waste Resources for almost a year and a half. I have not been able to land a single job. I am currently in Colorado. Does anyone have any advice to give or places to look for in the US that may be hiring. I am really frustrated with the job market right now, and it feels nearly impossible to get a job in Environmental Science. Lowkey feel like I wasted my time trying to get a Bachelors Degree in the Environmental Science Field.

Environmental Scientist Looking For Volunteer Opportunities in Costa Rica

Hello everyone!

I am looking for a volunteer program in Costa Rica to do for approximately a month in March 2027 after I do a yoga teacher training. I have a biology degree and currently work as an environmental consultant with several years of field experience conducting wildlife surveys, habitat assessments, and general data collection.

There are so many options online, it seems difficult to filter through and select ones that will be the most helpful, and also the most able to make the best use of my skills. I was wondering if anyone could share specific programs that are meant for more than just casual eco-tourism/volunteerism that they might have experience with. Something that could go on a resume would be an amazing plus, but not required. I unfortunately speak very little Spanish, so there would have to be some level of English communication possible.

I am hoping to keep the cost low, but definitely willing to pay for the right program.

Thanks in advance!

Do you find it infuriating trying to directly contact hazardous waste landfills?

I know every third party hazardous waste handler (Cleanharbors, Crystal Clear etc.) wants your business.

But I’m surprised how difficult it is to find the info to directly negotiate disposal with a haz landfill. I have all the characterization info, just talk to me!

It’s like they are hiding. Anyone have go to contacts for the US Midwest?! Am I missing a secret code someplace?
