Discussion When are we finally getting native software for Linux

Id love to finally leave Windows behind, but Elgato is making it impossible for me. Without the Wave Link software, my Stream Deck and Wave XLR are basically just dust collectors.

Discussion OpenXLR - The REAL alternative to WaveLink 3 on linux! 💕

Good evening/morning streamers & creators! 👋

HUGE news for the lovers of the penguin OS (Linux) and owners of the Elgato WaveLink products related with audio.

While browsing some repositories on Github to find some inspiration, i found this free & opensource replacement for the original Wave Link 3 avaible only for Windows.

At the beginning i thought i was dreaming, and since i wanna move to linux completely, this is just a dream! (now only Streamer.bot natively missing)

I'm using this since a couple of days and basically i can do everything i can on Windows, nothing excluded. It can be integrated also with Streamdeck with OpenDeck

I've tested almost every opensource alternative for Elgato products, but this one doesn't feel like a random vibe coded app, instead it's seriously feel rock solid.

It's compatible with any plugin you would normally use on windows, .vst2 / .vst3 and others via Wine containers (suggested the latest staging builds)

This is the Github page of the project : OpenXLR

  1. Avaible on the AUR for Arch linux users,
  2. Following the installer script on the page of the project
  3. Building from source.

I'm on Arch Linux / Hyperland + Noctalia shell but it's compatible with anything running under Wayland / X11 alsa / pipewire.

Lemme know what you think 😎

Cheers
