I make short videos and got tired of bouncing between CapCut, a transcript tool and a notes app, so I built an editor that runs on my Mac and does the editing from the words.
What it does: - Drop in phone clips, it transcribes them with word timings (whisper.cpp, runs locally) and you cut by selecting words. Captions follow every cut. - An assistant (it runs through the Claude CLI on your own plan) takes "make this a 30-second reel with a hook and captions" and does the cut, the captions, text, punch-ins, music and sound effects, then reviews its own frames and fixes what is off. Every request can be undone. - 14 caption styles, 16 text styles, colour looks, transitions, a sound library (keyboard, pings, shutters, the meme classics), reaction GIFs and meme templates. - A planner page that keeps your footage library and a content plan, and starts the edits for you. - Speaker labels and natural voiceover voices, all local. - Export 9:16, 16:9, 1:1 or 4:5 up to 4K.
Everything except the assistant's chat runs on the machine. Apple Silicon Mac only for now, needs Homebrew and Node.

Happy to answer questions about how the transcript-based cutting works.
Also, need for suggestions for features.... this is soooo exciting.
