Discussion New Rules for Dropshipping Expert Verification and Revenue Claims Coming Soon

The mod team has been reviewing all violations of Rule #4 for some time now. We also asked the community for feedback on what makes a Dropshipper an expert in a thread that provoked vibrant discussion and a healthy helping of the usual spam for Fiverr's, scammers, etc...

We believe we have developed a model that will allow us to both stop banning most users for violation of Rule #4 and promote better, higher-level, discussions here that will help everyone.

This post is a pre-announcement to collect feedback on our new rules and processes. Each of these will be fully implemented by October 20th after community feedback.

1. Determining Expertise

A handful of users in this sub will be granted the flair "Dropshipping Expert" in the coming months. To obtain this flair the applicant will have to give the mods quite a bit of information and insights to help us determine their qualifications. Only the top of the top applicants for this will be approved.

Dropshipping Expert flair will grant the holder a few perks and should show to the community that your posts and comments are more trusted than others. We will try and come up with more perks for these soon. Here are the current perks:

  • Benefit of the Doubt - If a user reports your post as spam the mods will weight your Dropshipping Expert flair more heavily against their claim and consider the actions that might be taken more carefully.
  • Dropshipping Revenue Claims without Verification - Any Dropshipping Experts will be able to share screenshots of videos of their supposed results in our sub without the post being removed or taken down for Rule #4 violations.
  • Reviews / Recommendations Stay Up No Matter What - A major problem in our sub is that a course seller will report someone's negative review post by using dozens of Fiverr sellers who all send a terrible boilerplate fake legal takedown notice. When their attempts fail they will hound our mod mail inbox. All review / recommendation posts by Dropshipping Experts will be considered the highest quality and allowed to stay up as long as the post follow standard Reddit ToS / Reddiquette.
  • Right of First Mod Refusal - If we need more mods Dropshipping Expert flaired accounts will be the first we ask to join the team before opening it up to the community.

Here are some of the many qualifiers, more will be announced soon. You won't need all of these to qualify as a Dropshipping Expert, we will announce more specific details on this later.

  • At least 10 helpful comments in our subreddit over a 6-month period helping others. Comments must be at least +2 karma, indicating at least one other user found the comment helpful as well. We will specifically examine these comments for spam and ensure they are being helpful.
  • A public Dropshipping expert profile that allows for user feedback somewhere. Our preferred vendor for this will be ExpertHelp.com but any other rating/review site that allows for Dropshipping expertise to specifically be measured by others will be acceptable.
  • A public website blog, YouTube channel, X.com, Rumble channel, or LinkedIn account that shares helpful tips on dropshipping, ecommerce management, or ecommerce marketing. Content will be reviewed for accuracy, use of AI in generation of the knowledge, and "salesyness" of the applicants own product/course/theme/platform/tool/etc...
  • A degree in marketing or business administration from a school in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, or Ireland.
  • Able to prove earnings of at least $30,000 / month usd via a Dropshipping website. Must disclose the dropshipping vendor / factory, methods used to generate sales (in general), ad campaigns (if used), and show live ecommerce data to validate this.

2. Extraordinary Claims vs. Legitimate Claims

We have been hush hush about what we consider an "extraordinary claim" but that changes now after carefully reviewing the content removed as parts of known scam / spam attacks on our subreddit. Instead we will approach this with a few slight changes.

  1. Claims under $10,000 / month usd will have no action taken against them. These claims are considered ordinary, though users of our sub should still be cautious that mentors / gurus / course sellers will abuse this and try to scam you. Stay on your guard.

  2. Claims between $10,001 / month - $30,000 / month usd will now be considered "great" but will not be considered "extraordinary". Great results get more skepticism from the mod team and are likely to be removed but not marked as spam except in cases where the user spams the same / similar claims over and over. We will consider posting the same claim too frequently or in a way that should be post flaired as "marketplace" as spam and the user will be banned. Other than that, these claims are generally going to be allowed starting today.

  3. Claims over $30,000 / month usd will generally now be considered "Extraordinary" though the closer to the $30k the more likely the mod team is to consider this only an "amazing" claim. Claims such as "$100k usd in sales today" will always be considered "Extraordinary" and require revenue verification.

Short term claims such as daily or weekly are calculated up to a monthly claim. If you claim a $10,000 / day usd sales boost then our mod team considers that a $300,000 / month usd claim which falls under "Extraordinary" and Rule #4 applies.

Anyone banned for violations of Rule #4 from here on cannot appeal their bans, period.

3. Revenue Verification

We will no longer be doing revenue verification in private via mod mail. Instead ALL revenue verification requests must now be 100% public. To be revenue verified you must:

  • Make a post titled "Revenue Verification Request: [your reddit username + your revenue claim (+ dates if your claim has a date range)]".
  • Your post MUST include a link to a video on YouTube, X, Rumble, Loop, or another video site.
  • Your revenue verification video MUST be created on a desktop or laptop browser (not mobile or app) and must show the URL bar of your Shopify admin.
  • You must move your mouse around, click around, and show that your dashboard is live.
  • You must show the date range of your claim and it must line up 100%
  • You must edit your video to hide sensitive information such as email address, phone number, brand name, website, etc....
  • OPTIONAL - You can include your website, online reviews, etc... in your public post OR send this along with a link to your post to the mod team via mod mail.

Revenue verification grants a user flair and allows them to post about ANY revenue claim from that momement forward without scrutiny, being removed, or being banned.

Once you have gotten your verdict, you may delete your post.

4. Revenue Discussion Flair

Many of you noticed we introduced a new flair awhile back "Dropwinning".

This flair should be used for:

  • Bragging about a first sale
  • Bragging about revenue figures
  • Bragging about a celebrity client / brand as a client
  • Basically all other bragging about Dropshipping goes here

Virtually ALL uses for revenue claims should go into this flair or the marketplace flair. If not, you risk having your post marked as spam. And if you spam too much you risk being banned from our sub.

It is my hope that these updated rules allow for more bragging by Dropshippers who are actually killing it, allow us to highlight experts in our field who are extremely helpful and a benefit to our industry, and bring more knowledge for everyone while keeping spammers banished to the shadow realm.

Question Getting people to checkout but zero purchases. What am I missing?

Hey everyone, I’m looking for honest feedback because I’m stuck.

I run a small Shopify store selling indoor golf putting gear, and I dropship through CJdropshipping. I’m running Meta ads at about $10/day on a sales campaign.

The traffic part seems to be working. People land on the site, add to cart, and actually get to the checkout page. Then they drop off.

Question How do you feel to see the whole process of the fulfillment of your products irl

Post image
10 Upvotes

Today, I took one of my clients to visit our warehouse in China, where they got to see the entire fulfillment process of their own products - from production and quality inspection to packaging and shipping.
As a Chinese private supplier, I believe that sourcing is not just about finding the right products at the right prices. It's also about building trust and giving clients a clearer picture of what happens behind the scenes.
There's something special about seeing the products you sell online being handled in real life, isn't there?
If you had the chance to visit your supplier's factory or warehouse and see your own products being prepared for shipment, how would you feel? Would it give you more confidence in your business? •

Question CANNOT scale I need help

Hey everyone, These are my results from August 8 to September 15 on my most recent dropshipping store. I’m stuck in a frustrating loop and need some brutal advice from anyone who has scaled past at least 1k/day or more. I can get initial sales easily during the testing phase. My highest revenue day ever was $700, but I completely hit a wall whenever I try to scale budget or volume. I always break even or watch my ROAS plummet. I advertise on meta ads.

I am also completely fluent in French, so if anyone feels more comfortable replying or sharing advice in French, please feel free to do so.

Question Just fulfilled my first Shopify order! 🎉 How do you guys handle order fulfillment?

• Upvotes

I’m a beginner in dropshipping, and I’m super excited to share that I’ve just successfully processed my very first order on my Shopify store! 🎉

It might be just one order, but it feels like a huge milestone for me. I’m really happy that everything went smoothly, and I want to say a big thank you to everyone who gave me advice and support in my previous posts. I really appreciate it!

Now that I’ve gotten my first order out of the way, I’m curious about how other dropshippers handle order fulfillment.

Do you guys use apps or automation tools to process orders, or do you prefer doing everything manually? If you use any tools, are there any you’d recommend for someone just starting out?

Question Best shopify fulfillment apps for high volume?

I'm getting more orders on avg now, my current fulfillment setup is starting to become a hassle. Orders are still going out but spending too much time checking their status and dealing with delays. Poor communication is pmo somedays.

I'm looking to switch to something that's better for higher order volumes more reliably. If you do have orders on the higher end would you rec what you use and do they have good communication?

Review Request I got tired of guessing whether checkout was actually slow, so I built a tool that measures it from real traffic

Hey everyone,

I've spent a lot of time poking around Shopify stores, and the pattern I kept running into wasn't "is this store slow" — it was "nobody actually knows." You run Lighthouse, get a score, and it tells you basically nothing about what a real customer on a real phone with real network conditions just experienced on your actual checkout.

I'd see stores "pass" every synthetic speed test and still have customers bailing at checkout. And I'd see the opposite too — stores panicking over a bad Lighthouse score that had nothing to do with how real traffic behaved.

The problem is synthetic tests measure a lab run once, from one location, on one connection. They're not measuring your store. They're measuring a simulation of your store.

So I built Tilltrace. It tracks real load/response behavior on your actual Product, Cart, and Checkout pages, from your actual traffic — not a simulated run. It breaks it down by device, so you can catch things like mobile checkout quietly being worse than desktop. And it shows a confidence level tied to how much real traffic you've actually gotten, so you're not making decisions off 3 sessions and calling it data.

It's free and in open beta right now, and I'm genuinely looking for feedback — what's confusing, what's missing, what you'd want to see next.

Where do people usually run into this — do you find yourself trusting Lighthouse/PageSpeed scores, or have you already learned to ignore them?

(Link in comments if anyone wants to check it out.)

Discussion 9 camera angles to level up your AI fashion photography prompts (visual cheat sheet)

Ever tried generating fashion photos with AI, only to get the same boring camera angle every time?

Sometimes the problem isn’t your prompt. It’s just that you’re not being specific enough about the camera perspective.

I put together this little cheat sheet showing 9 camera angles using the same model, outfit, and setting.

Instead of just writing “fashion editorial photo,” try adding terms like “worm’s-eye view,” “three-quarter view,” or “high-angle shot” to your prompts.

Small changes in wording can make a huge difference in composition.

Hope this helps anyone experimenting with AI fashion photography or creating visuals for clothing brands!

Marketplace Looking for an E-commerce / Business Mentor in Amsterdam or North Holland 🇳🇱 (or nearby)

Hi everyone!

I’m looking for an experienced entrepreneur or e-commerce business owner who would be open to mentoring someone at the very beginning of their business journey.

I didn’t study business and don’t have direct experience running an e-commerce business yet, but I’m genuinely interested in learning and would love to gain practical, hands-on experience. I do have experience working 5 years in Saas sales, though.

I’m particularly interested in e-commerce and entrepreneurship, and I’d love to learn how to take a business idea from concept to execution. This includes market research, business strategy, sourcing, marketing, and the practicalities of setting up and running a business in the Netherlands/EU, especially Dutch and EU regulations, taxes, VAT, and legal requirements.

What I’m looking for:
● Someone with real-world entrepreneurial or e-commerce experience who can guide me step by step.
● Practical advice on what I need to learn, where to start, and how to avoid common beginner mistakes.
● The opportunity to gain hands-on experience and learn by doing, rather than relying solely on theory.

I’m also very open to helping out with your existing business or personal project for free in exchange for the opportunity to learn and gain practical experience. I’d be happy to contribute my time, take on tasks, and get involved in the work while learning from your experience. Ideally, I’d love to build a mutually beneficial arrangement where I can add value while developing my own entrepreneurial skills.

Location-wise, I’m preferably looking for someone based in Amsterdam or elsewhere in North Holland, as I’d love to meet in person initially, then perhaps do more calls as time goes.

Ideally, we could start with a coffee to get to know each other, discuss our interests and goals, and see if it’s a good fit. From there, we can figure out what working together might look like.

I’m motivated, curious, and willing to put in the work. I’m not looking for someone to build a business for me — I’m looking for someone who can help me learn how to do it myself.

If this sounds like something you’d be open to, or if you know someone who might be a good fit, please feel free to reach out!

Thanks! 😊

Question Payment gateway for Indian dropshipping without GST registration?

Hey everyone, I'm planning to start a dropshipping store in India and looking for a payment gateway that works without GST registration or a registered business.

Has anyone started dropshipping as an individual without these registrations? Which payment gateway are you using, and what documents did you need to get approved?

I'd appreciate any advice from people with actual experience. Thanks!

Is this normal?? Nearly 200k views on tiktok , 100 sessions 0 sales (2 abandoned checkouts being test orders 💀)

Issue could be TikTok they hve to write the link (name).com bcs of the 1k followers minimum.
Audience is fine , mainly Europe. 30% other. Beauty niche. On TikTok bcs I don’t have 1k followers, I just wrote the (name).com. (No not the full url just name.com) Wondering if the link is such a huge issue?

Question Beginners keep asking "is my supplier legit" — so let's collect everyone's verification tricks in one place

Every week there's another post here from someone about to send money to a supplier they found on Alibaba or through WhatsApp, asking if it's safe. So instead of answering the same way every time: what's your personal checklist before you trust a supplier with a deposit?

I'll start: I always check how long the actual registered company has existed vs. how long the store claims to have been around. Caught a "9 years in business" store running on a company registered in 2023 once.

What's yours?

Question Anyone else feel like personalized products create 10x more work after the customer places the order?

I've had a few orders so far with customer text and photo.

For every order I check the name or photo they sent, open my design, put the text or photo in, export the file, then upload it to my print provider (Printify for me) and place the order by hand, because every design is different. If a name looks weird or a photo is blurry I message the customer and wait, sometimes a whole day, for a reply.

If a few orders already take this long, I don't see how I keep up when I have more orders.

How do you all handle this part? Do you automate any of it, or is it just part of selling custom products?

Everyone says typos are the biggest headache with names, so my plan is to send every customer a proof and wait for their ok before I make anything. Smart or will it be too much to handle?

Discussion Feedback: You need to list the Size Conversion for chinese clothes

Last month I bought a very nice jacket from a dropshipping clothing store. I am normally a medium and got a size medium of the jacket I wanted to buy. The jacket is very nice but despite it being labeled as medium. It barely fit me, it was probably comporable to an Extra small which was gaslighting me because it was my first time buying clothes from a dropshipping site and I followed their sizing guidelines. I did not even know this was from china until I got the shipping code. As a bit of feedback for the clothing stores. Please list the size conversions on the clothing page description, or at least list the sizes as is but state that it a chinese sizing,
