Showcase Halvsy - Scan & Split Bills

Splitwise caps free accounts at a few new expenses a day and keeps receipt scanning on its paid plan. On a group trip that cap arrives before lunch on the first day. I wanted the same groups-and-balances model without the cap, so I built Halvsy.

  • You make a group for a trip, a flat or a regular dinner crowd. Friends join by scanning a QR code off your screen, or you add them by name and they claim the spot when they install the app.
  • Anyone in the group adds a bill in a few taps, or photographs the receipt. Halvsy reads every line, the tax and the tip, and shows them beside the printed total so you can see they add up. On recent iPhones the phone reads the receipt itself, and the photo never leaves it.
  • For a receipt, you tap who had what, or tap Everyone for the shared plate. Tax and tip are split in proportion to what each person ordered, so the person who had a salad doesn't pay tax on someone else's steak.
  • The group keeps a running balance. When it is time to settle, Halvsy cuts the group's debts down to as few payments as it can and hands each amount to whatever you already pay with, whether that is Venmo, Revolut, a bank transfer or cash you mark as paid.
  • Each group keeps its own currency, so the Osaka trip stays in yen. A bill added with no signal shows up at once and syncs when you are back online, and iPhone and Android users can share one group.

It does not convert between currencies inside one group, and it does not import bank transactions.

Pricing, since someone always asks: groups, expenses, balances and settling up are free, with no ads and no daily limit. Every account gets 10 receipt scans a month, and a subscription removes that cap for people scanning a whole trip's receipts.

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.quantdesk.halvsy

I'd like to hear what your group would need before switching, and which receipts it gets wrong.

Showcase Android app that only lists devices on the Wi-Fi

I put together a small Android app called IoTHygieneCheck. It is only a proposal, not sure it is useful to anyone.

Idea: the phone stands on the network you are already joined to and writes down only what answers. Name, port, and the first sentence. Silence stays silent. The list stays on the phone until you save or share it. Android 9+, no account, no ads.

https://stanochillart.github.io/IoTHygieneCheck/

Not aimed at Arch, Kali, or scanning networks you do not belong to. More of a pocket note of what is already talking on your own LAN.

Would this be useful to anyone, or is it redundant next to existing LAN browsers? Comments welcome, including where this would fit better.

Hey everyone,

Stepline is an app I made that turns your daily steps into a straight line on a map, showing where your steps would take you as the crow flies. No GPS route recording, just your steps and a map. Here’s how to enter:

  1. Comment below

  2. I’ll pick 20 winners at random.

  3. Winners get notified by DM with their promo codes.

  4. I’ll post the names of the winners here on the sub.

Thanks for joining in! Hope you enjoy Stepline.

Showcase Wave Music - Open source YT music client

Post image
23 Upvotes

This is an open source YT music client, it's built around having your essential features without being cluttered.

The main focus here is your lyrics, you can adjust the timing, change sources, the app already tries to find the best source for that song. You can translate them using Google translate or bring your own API key for LLM powered translation.

You can customize the appearance of the app and change many things about it to make it your own. You like liquid glass? you can make it the center of the show. If you hate it you can turn it off and enjoy your music with 0 distractions.

You can adjust liquid glass intensity using the slider to make it as subtle as it gets, or make it very reflective and barely legible. It's all your choice.

You can listen to podcasts. You can see how many songs of your favorite artist you have in your "Favorite" page. Create your own playlists with suggestions section that suits your playlist's music.

The landscape mode isn't an after thought, so you can do pretty much everything in landscape mode.

Promo / Giveaway Meridian Launcher: Promo Codes

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi Everyone!

I've created Meridian Launcher and have been gathering a small community!

I've got 50 promo codes for anyone who may be interested in trying it out! My last give away got a bit out of hand with the manual code DM's so instead, I've added a automated way to distribute them via our website. The codes are first come first serve and require a discord login (This information is not used at all, it's just to make sure one person doesn't claim everything and avoid bots).

Feel free to DM directly as well and I can provide one to you too!

Meridian is and always will be free for sideload on the meridian site and the announcements channel in discord!

Feel free to try it out and let me know if you have any suggestions!

Meridian: feature list

  • Spaces. Set up a separate home screen for each part of your day, each with its own pages, dock, folders, grid and icon style. They can switch on a schedule or when something happens, like connecting to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, turning on Do Not Disturb or plugging in to charge. They also switch with the launcher closed.
  • AI assistant. Ask in plain words ("4x6 grid", "hide these apps", "set up a Bedtime space") and it makes the change. It shows each change old-to-new with an Undo button. You use your own key from OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, Groq, Mistral, OpenRouter or Perplexity, any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, or a local Ollama server. It's off by default.
  • Gestures. There are 16 triggers you can assign, including swipes, pinches, double-taps, rotations and edge swipes. There's also a gesture pad: draw any shape and it runs an action.
  • Layout. Grids go up to 16x16, and you can place items on half cells.
  • -Icons. Icon packs work and come with a built-in browser. There are 7 icon shapes plus themed and dynamic calendar icons, and you can set a custom image, label or launch target for any single icon.
  • App drawer. Choose from 4 layouts and add your own tabs. Hidden apps are locked behind your fingerprint. Search handles initials ("gm" finds Gmail), typos and T9.
  • Widgets. You can make swipeable widget stacks. Meridian also has its own widgets: a smart shelf of apps you're likely to open next, quick actions, a Space switcher and an ask-anything bar.
  • Privacy. There are no analytics, trackers, crash reporting or accounts, and no Meridian server. Only web search and the assistant can use the network, and both are off by default.

Showcase Rhino - On-Device AI Video Clipper & Compressor

Everyone knows that the fastest way to grow across TikTok, Reels, and Shorts is by repurposing your existing long-form content (podcasts, YouTube videos, gaming, tutorials, or travel footage).

But the actual editing workflow on mobile is frustrating:

  1. You have to manually crop and keyframe to keep the subject from sliding out of the 9:16 vertical frame.
  2. Existing mobile tools either charge heavy cloud subscriptions, require high-speed internet to upload giant files, or leave ugly watermarks.
  3. Large video files quickly eat up your phone's storage.

To solve this for my own content workflow, I built an on-device Android tool called Rhino:

How it works:

  • AI Subject-Tracking Clipper: The AI analyzes your horizontal video and dynamically keeps the speaker/subject centered inside the 9:16 crop window. No tedious manual keyframing required.
  • Fast Social Splitting: Cut and export bite-sized clips in seconds, including a dedicated 30-second continuous splitter for WhatsApp Status.
  • Smart On-Device Compression: Built-in hardware-accelerated compression (H.264 & HEVC) to shrink heavy clips without visible quality loss, making social uploads instant.
  • Side-by-Side Quality Slider: Preview the compressed clip against the raw original before rendering to make sure details stay crisp.
  • 100% Offline & Private: AI inference and video rendering run completely on your device. No cloud servers, no account login, and zero watermarks.

I am an independent developer actively improving this app (just rolled out build 12 with draft recovery so you don't lose unfinished clip projects).

If you repurpose long-form video into short-form content, I'd really appreciate your feedback on the AI tracking responsiveness and output quality.

(It's free on Google Play under Rhino: Video Compressor & Clipper)

Promo / Giveaway made an offline football manager, free till oct 31

Post image
• Upvotes

hi, i'm fabian from germany and i've been making this football manager on my own since february. it's called Trainer's Boardroom.

you pick any of the 1,458 clubs, could be some small club in albania like in the pic, and try to get somewhere with it. the other clubs buy and sell on their own every day, your matches run live and you can change stuff while they're going. no ads and it works offline.

normally the first season is free and then it's €6.99 once. if you install before oct 31 you keep it unlocked for free. no code or anything.

i'm still figuring out where to take it, so if something annoys you or feels off just tell me. a review on google play helps too but only if you feel like it.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bosniii.trainersboardroom

btw what would you do in the pic, park the bus or go for a third?

Promo / Giveaway Mutanciaki - Idle RPG

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I've just released my game on Google Play and I'd love to hear what you think of it.

Mutanciaki - Idle RPG (roughly "little mutants" in Polish) is an idle RPG about absurd hybrid creatures. You start as Glut, a cheerful jelly blob that throws goo. Your hero fights waves of wild Mutanciaki on its own: Broccolisaurs, Toaster Bats, Pizza Spiders and friends. You decide how to get stronger.

What's inside

  • Endless rounds and 10 worlds: Kitchen, Playground, Toy Shop, Candy Factory, School, Garden, Space Canteen, Swimming Pool, Funfair and Underwater Pizzeria. Every 10th wave is a boss with a time limit. Beat a world's boss for the first time and it joins your collection.
  • 50+ Mutanciaki to collect. You can make any of them your active fighter, and each one attacks in its own way and has its own bonus. Merge two identical ones to rank them up. There's no rank cap, and every new species you discover gives a permanent bonus.
  • Stats, gear and skills: upgrade attack, HP, attack speed, crits, double and triple shot and more. Level up 4 gear pieces that change their look as they grow. Unlock 6 skills, like Jelly Turbo and Second Chance.
  • Daily dungeon: 3 tries a day against a boss. Each win takes you one level deeper, against a tougher boss. You earn essence, gold and free chests.
  • Progress while offline: your hero keeps earning when the game is closed.

Competition

  • Global ranking by hero Power.
  • Events every other day, where everyone starts from zero: no collection, no gear, no clan bonuses. Just you, a fresh Glut and your upgrade choices. The top 100 earn gold, and reaching certain rounds unlocks Mutanciaki you can only get from events.
  • Clan ranking: see how your clan stacks up against the rest.

Clans: growing together

This is the part I'm most excited about. Clan members pool coins and gold into a shared treasury, and the clan spends it on 4 buildings:

  • Jelly Works - more attack
  • Health Hut - more HP
  • Coin Vault - more coins
  • Clock Tower - longer offline earnings

Every level helps every member, and buildings have no level cap. Costs grow with each level, so a whole clan working together goes much further than one big player. There's also clan chat.

Other details

  • Free to play. Ads are optional, mostly for boosts you choose to watch, and there's a "Remove Ads" purchase.
  • Kid-friendly: cute and goofy, no violence beyond monsters going "poof".
  • Available in 12 languages.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appengines.mutanciaki

It's still early days and I'm actively updating it. I'm already working on new worlds: a spooky attic, a bathroom, a supermarket, a ski slope and more. Any feedback is very welcome, from balance and bugs to "this creature should exist". Thanks for reading!

AI Disclosure

AI helped me with the code. The art was generated with AI and edited by me. Text translations were done with AI. Sound effects are synthesized from code, not generated by AI, and there is no music.

Showcase Trackbook – Track Work, Trips & Earnings

Title: I built an Android app to track work shifts, hours and earnings

Hi everyone!

I'm an independent Android developer, and I've been working on an app called Trackbook.

One feature I wanted to share is the Work Shift Tracker.

It lets you:

- Record your shift start and finish times.

- Automatically calculate your working hours.

- Add paid and unpaid breaks.

- Set your hourly rate and calculate your earnings.

- Keep a history of your shifts.

- View your work records and earnings in organised tables.

The app is free to download and includes optional Pro features for more advanced tracking, reports and exports.

My goal is to make it easier for shift workers, agency workers and hourly-paid employees to manage their work records without complicated spreadsheets.

I'd really appreciate some honest feedback from anyone who works shifts.

What features would make an app like this more useful for you?

App: Trackbook — available on Google Play.

Promo / Giveaway Kei car, top 1% in FH6, so I'm building a tuner

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi all! Quick update on Copperquill, my offline game-companion app for Android.

Live now: Pesetas Ledger (RE4 Remake) — scan the merchant screen with your camera and it finds the most valuable treasure + gem combos.

Coming next: Festival Ledger for Forza Horizon 6 • Max Tune — a one-tap tune for 207 popular cars • Live Doctor (beta) — reads live data from your game over Wi-Fi • META tags — see which cars top Rivals drivers actually pick

Why I'm building it: I'm not a pro driver, but with the right parts and tune my 1991 Honda Beat (a tiny kei car 😄) hit 428 km/h, won by 0.033s and got into the top 1% of 100,660 players in S1 drag.

No ads, no accounts, no tracking. Feedback very welcome!

Showcase CRT-Screen-Off-Animation (100% Rootless)

Post image
12 Upvotes

I missed the CyanogenMod CRT screen-off animation from Android 2.3/4.0, so I built a 100% rootless version for modern Android (Android 13–16+) using real-time AGSL GPU shaders.

Back in the CM7 / CM9 days, that iconic horizontal electron-beam collapse before screen sleep was peak Android. When Google retired the effect, getting it back meant rooting, custom ROMs, or tripping Knox fuses.

I wanted it back without compromises, so I rebuilt it from the ground up:

### ✨ Quick Highlights

- **100% Rootless & Knox Safe:** Uses official Android Accessibility APIs. Zero root, zero Knox tripping, 100% Play Integrity safe.

- **120Hz AGSL GPU Shaders:** Butter-smooth real-time rendering on your phone's GPU.

- **Zero Battery Impact:** Fully dormant when idle—no background services or drain.

- **Gesture Ready:** Map it to a Samsung Good Lock (One Hand Operation+) edge swipe or home screen shortcut.

- **Privacy First:** 0 internet permissions in the manifest.

*(P.S. When scrolling through the dashboard settings, don’t panic if you feel microscopic static electricity on your screen—that’s just my custom touch-static overlay paying homage to running your fingers over a 90s TV glass! 😜)*

### Download & Full Setup Guide

All detailed setup steps (including handling Play Protect & Android 13+ restricted settings) and source code are on GitHub:

**Download Release APK (v1.0.0):**   https://github.com/Typongtv/CRT-Screen-Off-Animation

Video of app in action can be viewed here: https://www.reddit.com/u/typongtv/s/oo8zacTEcu

Hope this brings back some good memories for fellow retro Android fans!

Showcase Wobbulator - turn still images into motion

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This little octopus started as a still image. Circle the head, paint the arms, press Play: tiny tentacle dance. 🐙

App: Wobbulator. I'm the developer.

What it does: Adds motion to selected parts of a still image on Android.

Key features - Place and reshape circular areas, or follow an outline with Studio Paint. - Give different areas their own motion and feel. - Play an animation or switch to touch interaction.

Who it's for: Character creators, artists, anime fans and anyone who wants to experiment with making still pictures move. What would you bring to life—an OC, a mascot, or a creature?

Cost: Included examples are free to edit, save and reopen. Personal photos, imports and exports require the full personal-use edition: $6.99 USD once, covering Android and Windows. No subscription. No giveaway or promotion in this post.

Official download page: https://github.com/Zboytjbxp/wobbulator-updates/releases/latest

Android installs from the APK on that page; it isn't on Google Play yet.

About the video: Actual Android Circle and Studio Paint editing. Setup is sped up and menu navigation is omitted; final motion plays at normal speed.

The reminder went off. You swiped it away. The pill is still sitting there.

• Medication and supplement schedules with configurable repeat reminders.

• A dose history and calendar so you can check what you’ve recorded.

• Basic reminders and records without creating an account. English, Japanese and Korean are supported.

Who it’s for

People who notice the first reminder but get distracted before taking the pill.

Goal: Launch

Cost

Free download with ads and an optional one-time ad-removal purchase. Google Play’s US listing currently shows in-app purchases at $1.39–$2.09 per item; your local store shows the price before purchase. No giveaway.

Showcase MULL - a place for all the posts you save

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I kept saving posts on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit… and never looking at them again. Everything was scattered across five different "saved" tabs.

So I made MULL. You share anything to it from any app, and it keeps everything in one place, with the title and cover already filled in.

What it does:

- Save in two taps from Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Reddit, Threads, or anything with a Share button

- Collections with colors, favorites and quick filters

- Notes with checklists and photos

- A home screen widget that shows you something you saved, a different one every day. That's the part I use most.

- Local and private by default. No account needed, and you can export a backup whenever you like.

FREE 14 DAYS TRIAL TO EVERY USER

There's also a Chrome extension so you can save from your computer into the same library.

What's free: saving, collections, notes, the daily widget and backups, with no account. Premium adds sync between devices, a Chrome extension (Firefox and Edge coming soon) and a few extras like subfolders. Monthly, yearly or a one-time purchase, with a free 14-day trial.

Video above shows how it works. It's a solo project, so any feedback is really welcome.

You can find the extension in chrome web store

Showcase AIRTA — AI conversation pattern reports

App Name: AIRTA (Relationship Toxicity Analyzer)

I'm the developer of AIRTA. It uses AI to explore communication patterns in the conversation material you choose to provide.

What it does

• Import text, screenshots, or supported conversation exports.

• Choose the metrics you want to explore instead of relying on one overall score.

• Read an AI-generated report and review the context behind its findings.

• Use the interface in multiple languages.

Who it's for

Adults who want another perspective on communication patterns in their own conversations. Only share material you have permission to use.

Cost

Free to download, with optional in-app purchases. Standard membership is US $9.99/month. The separate Discord add-on is US $9.99/month and requires Standard. Optional metric expansion packs are US $4.99 or $9.99 each. A one-time unlock for the current report is US $19.99. Local prices and terms appear in Google Play before purchase. No giveaway or discount is being offered in this post.

Google Play

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.airta.airelationshiptoxicityanalyzer

Additional notes

AI can miss context and get things wrong. AIRTA is for information and entertainment; a report is not a diagnosis or proof about another person. The Play listing is rated Mature 17+.

Happy to answer questions about importing conversations or how the metric selection works.

Showcase I made an Android app for Sill (Mac window stream)

Big thanks first to the developer of Sill, a free, open-source app that streams Mac windows to iPhone and iPad. It had no Android version, so I built one: Oriel.

With the free Sill app running on your Mac, Oriel lets you pick any Mac window (or the whole desktop) and use it on Android: tap to click, scroll, type, and use a stylus or mouse. Pairing uses a one-time code, and the connection is encrypted with no account or server in between.

It’s early and unofficial (not affiliated with Sill), but it works. The code is open source: https://github.com/portico-labs/oriel

Feedback and ideas welcome!

App Name: CataLift

What it does: CataLift is a fast, flexible workout tracker built for lifters who want more detail than most apps allow, from tempo and pauses to grip, stance, and side-by-side tracking. Load your own programs, enter your RPE, and it handles the rest, with gamification, challenges, and equipment alternatives to keep you progressing.

Key Features:

  • Detailed set tracking: tempo, pauses, supersets, separate rest timers between sets and exercises, a plate calculator, and variations (grip width, stance, deficit, left/right side)
  • Equipment alternatives when your machine or rack is taken, plus custom programs so setting up a session is as easy as entering your RPE
  • Gamification and social features: badges, achievements, prestige levels, and social challenges, with leaderboards coming soon

Goal: Launch

Giveaway: N/A

Cost: Free. Almost every feature is free; only the advanced progress reports are premium.

Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.catalift.app.android

I’ve spent the last two years building CataLift because the app I was using was missing features I needed and felt slow mid-workout. I’d love for you to try it, and I’m happy to answer questions or take feature requests!

Showcase I vibecoded a piano app in 2 weeks with my teacher

I built Piano Atlas Studio: a piano theory atlas and practice app for Android (no ads, no account)

I'm learning piano and couldn't find one app that showed theory on the keyboard and also helped me practise, so I built it. It's on Google Play now, and I'd love feedback.

🎼 Explore the theory

Chord Atlas: every chord type in every key, shown as real two-hand voicings with finger numbers and inversions. Tap to hear it.

Scale Atlas: the modes, jazz and world scales, Hindustani thaats, Japanese koto tunings, and all 72 Carnatic melakartas

Ragas: janya ragas with their arohana and avarohana, and what makes each one distinct

Fingering Lab: standard fingering for both hands, up and down, with every thumb crossing shown

Progressions: famous chord progressions by style, in any key, voiced so the hands move smoothly

Theory tools: Circle of Fifths, chord and scale comparisons, arpeggios, intervals and a glossary

🎤 Practise with your real piano

Sight Reading: notes, chords, lines and short pieces on the grand staff, at four levels. It listens through your phone's microphone (or a USB MIDI keyboard), so you play on your own piano and it tells you how you did.

Play: your piano, lit up. Play on screen, on a MIDI keyboard, or on a real piano through the mic, along a scale or in an echo game.

Staff Trainer and Note Trainer: learn to read a note at a time; the ones you find hard come back until they aren't

Metronome: with tempo ramps and Indian talas

Guided practice sessions: built from what your drills have recorded, weakest first

✍️ Create

Composer: write songs a section at a time (chords, then the tune, then the left hand), or let "Surprise me" start one. Hear it back, print it as sheet music, or practise it in Sight Reading.

MIDI files: open any MIDI file and the piano plays it with the keys lighting up. Learn it mode waits for your notes, one hand at a time, as slow as you like. You can also open a MIDI file in the Composer or Sight Reading.

🎨 Other bits

Five looks (Stage, Score, Grand, Classic, Pads), each with three themes

A sampled grand piano sound

Backups to a file, or to your own Google Drive (the app can only see its own backup folder)

🔒 Privacy

No ads, no account, no analytics, no tracking. Everything stays on your phone. The microphone is only used when you ask it to listen, and the sound is never recorded or sent anywhere.

💰 Free and Pro

A large part of the app is free. A one-time Pro purchase (no subscription) unlocks the rest: every chord type, scale and raga, the builders, unlimited songs and MIDI files, advanced sight reading, guided sessions and more designs.

Showcase I built a Bhagavad Gita App in English & Hindi

The idea is simple: make the Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, and other Indian wisdom texts easier to connect with in everyday life.

Each daily reading pairs the original Sanskrit with a clear English adaptation. You can explore its deeper meaning or find readings about patience, relationships, focus, and more.

There’s also guided meditation, calm music, illustrated themes, widgets, and share cards. I’ve put a lot of care into making the experience feel calm and beautiful.

Daily readings and saving favorites are free. Premium adds deeper explanations, library exploration, themes, and meditation features.

I’d love any feedback - on the UX, daily verses, onboarding and any other feature request!!

PS - I am a solo indie dev, building apps in my free time, I love this community and its support for indies like me. Thank you everyone for support!
