Garridan the Pale-Mane
Garridan Goldfang, a once proud Paladin of the Riftwood in the Eastern Shaar, oversaw protection of a well hidden Feyrift with his pride and the Gold Dwarves that operate the logging camp there.
Exposure to the feywild energies, and a blessing from an Archfey Patron gave Garridan a distinct sun-dappled mane that shimmered with pure, iridescent light. His Pride was well known for their aversion to blights and ridding the lands of malevolent entities. It was, perhaps, for this reason, Garridan became the target of a nefarious plot.
To the East, the Goldfang Pride unwittingly harbored enemies - those hellbent on corrupting the natural life energy that flowed into the Riftwood through the Feyrift.
The Rakshasha of Veldorn were a fiendish lot every intent on thickening a nefarious plot; but it was Count Malakar von Vane, vampire lord of Durpar who would enact the most sinister gambit to destroy Garridan and his pride. Using a Rakshasha emissary in disguise, they spoke of a blight that befouled lands to the East, needing holy warriors to cleanse it. As per their discipline to the Oath of the Ancients, Garridan gathered several pride-brothers and journeyed forth, into the waiting maw of Malakor who had assembled an ambush, taking the party prisoner and offering their Fey-touched blood as ritual sacrifice. Garridan watched as his brothers fell prey, tortured and bled dry, though he would persevere; one day mustering the strength to escape, last one left, forever marred by the atrocities. The ritual had not killed him, nay, instead transformed his golden glow into a haunting white and given unto an insatiable bloodlust. For the deeds he had bore witness and the crimes committed, he abandons his old Oath to take upon one anew, the Oath of Vengeance. Embracing new Dhampir blood coursing through his veins, he stalks as an apex predator in the night, scaling walls with ease and descending on unwary prey from above, piercing his lance into them and feast of cerebral fluids, his mane now wisps with an ethereal, ghostly smokiness - tell tale sign of his devastating circumstance.
