I feel like ever since all of the AI stuff they have been going on a downhill spiral since which is disappointing to see as I enjoy Reddit.

I just realized I can predict weather patterns by looking at clouds and I've never mentioned it to anyone. Like, legitimately accurate too. Was wondering if other people have random skills like this that just don't come up in conversation.

Just finished clearing off the last box from the surface. It's solid pine, nothing fancy, picked it up off a guy on marketplace who was moving out of state. Took three hours to scrub the old water rings out of the wood and tighten all the legs with a borrowed wrench.
Sent the final payment for the old medical bill to collections this afternoon too. Looked at the bank app three times just to make sure the balance actually stayed at zero instead of throwing some weird pending fee at me. It didn't.
Got a pot of plain rice simmering on the stove and a window cracked open to let the late night air in. Kinda quiet in here right now. If anyone else is just staring at a random piece of furniture they finally bought for themselves instead of making do, let me know what you're having for a late snack.

it's almost 2am and the apartment is super quiet except for the fridge humming. cleared out that final $342 chunk on the chase card that's been hanging over my head since late 2021. checked the app three times just to see the zero balance actually sit there instead of a negative number.
i didn't do anything crazy to celebrate. walked to the corner store, bought a $2 bag of chips and a lukewarm ginger ale, and walked back. my feet hurt from work anyway.
wearing these old gray sweatpants with a hole in the knee and just sitting at the kitchen table. it's a cheap laminated one i grabbed off marketplace for twenty bucks three years ago. the left leg wobbles if you lean too hard.
it feels weird. like waiting for an email saying it was a glitch or something. anybody else up late just staring at random stuff after finally closing a long chapter?

Not going to keep this too long, which isn’t really something. I usually say since I’m detail oriented and like talking about what matters to me. Long story short I’m looking to meet someone who is really sweet and soft. Someone who would be willing to talk daily or a couple times a week and become really close friends. If you want the same thing and if you’re someone who’s big on voices? Feel free to message me. Tell me something about yourself and I will do the same. I don’t respond to low effort messages though.

It was 2 AM and the kitchen smelled like burnt flour and deep regret. The last three attempts had come out of the Dutch oven looking and feeling like literal paving stones. I honestly thought about giving up and just ordering a pizza at midnight like a normal person.
Instead I adjusted the hydration by like two tablespoons and watched a thirty-minute video of some guy in a quiet kitchen gently folding dough on a scarred wooden board. Something just clicked. I let it ferment in the fridge overnight while the refrigerator hummed its usual low-key tune.
Taking the lid off the cast iron pot tonight felt weirdly high-stakes. It had this deep mahogany crust with little blister spots all over the top. When I tapped the bottom with my knuckle it made that hollow thud sound instead of a dull thud. Cutting into it with the serrated knife was pure ASMR. The crust actually crackled and shattered under the blade instead of just squishing the middle.
Sitting here alone in the dark kitchen at 1 AM slathering half-melted salted butter onto a thick uneven slice. It tastes incredible. Not bakery-level professional, but mine. Total wizard energy right now tbh.

Hi, I have been really insecure about my looks lately. A lot people told I look depressed. And droopy. Is looks matter in dating and relationships? I’m still a virgin. Still alone. And What should I focus on now?

Was waiting for the 6:40 train after a genuinely garbage day at work, staring at my cracked phone screen on a green wooden bench that smelled like wet mulch. An older dude wearing a windbreaker with a stained zipper sat down next to me, dropped a heavy canvas tote bag, and just started talking about pigeons like they owed him money.
I didn't have my headphones in, so I just nodded along. He ended up telling me about how he spent forty years repairing industrial sewing machines, and then out of nowhere he looked at my takeout container of cold pad thai and said, "You're carrying all that heavy stuff in your head like it's valuable furniture, but nobody's even asking to rent the room."
We sat in silence for the last ten minutes watching a stray dog chase a leaf. When my train pulled up, he just raised his coffee cup in a little toast and told me joy is mostly just paying attention to things that aren't currently breaking.
Idk, it wasn't some grand movie moment or anything, but I walked home without checking my email once.

ngl it’s been a crazy few years fr. like looking back at all the chaos we all went through, my brain is literally still trying to process that we can just... breathe now. it’s raining outside rn, got some hot chamomile tea steepin, an old jazz playlist softly playin in the background, and my cat is deadass asleep right across my legs heavy as a brick.
i was just starin at the window for a solid ten minutes watchin the drops hit the glass and it hit me like a brick. no alarms, no frantic news alerts, just pure quiet. my hands are literally shakin typin this cuz i honestly forgot what peace feels like after years of bein in full survival mode. anyone else just chillin tonight and feelin weirdly grateful for the absolute nothin-ness of it all?

Me and my husband have three children so Im well acquainted with the post birth hormone influx however this is the first time where its leading to mild insomnia, or just sweating in my sleep. Any other parents out there familiar with this type of thing happening?

Anybody have any tips hacks tricks or even cookbook or cooking show recommendations. I love Iron Chef but they are too advanced for me to learn from them

I've noticed I'm way better at actually listening to people now that we're talking through screens. Like, less distractions somehow? Curious if anyone else has found unexpected benefits to this whole remote socializing thing or if it's just me.
