Just released Hexstead, a Catan-ish solo game for mobile

• Upvotes

Solo game developer here :)
I wanted a Catan-ish game I could play on my own on the... "couch"... and finish in ten minutes, so I built one...

Player has to work against the bots on a hex-map, starting with a single hex containing a single resource. Rolling the dice causes each hex matching the roll to pay its owner. Players can claim and upgrade tiles, play strategic cards, use a bandit to blindside their opponents, and chase a secret goal that wins them extra victory points.

Easy tier is free to play, I'd love to hear what people think!

Game runs on Android / iOS:

We’ve rebuilt the dice in Tumble Tavern, our fantasy Farkle game for Windows and Linux

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Glowing cracks, glass panels and metal frames: these are the rebuilt dice for Tumble Tavern. Here’s a close-up throw across the tavern table.

We shared the game here before, and the dice have had a substantial overhaul since then.

Tumble Tavern starts with Farkle: throw six dice, keep what scores, then bank your points or roll the remaining dice. If the next throw scores nothing, you lose the points from that turn.

Enchanted runes let you interfere with that outcome. You can protect a turn, boost a scoring set or bet on a particular face. In the full game, you choose three runestones to bring to a match.

The free Steam demo includes the first two campaign fights and the Friendly and Copper tables. It supports Windows and native Linux/SteamOS. The full game launches on 12 November.

Try the demo or wishlist Tumble Tavern on Steam

Full Disclosure: Some AI tools assisted some during development, followed hand editing. No generative AI runs during play and this is months of hard work, we'd rather be transparent.

After 3 years of solo dev, my 4-Player / 2v2 Card Battler 'Grimoria' finally has a Steam page for wishlists (with full PC/Mobile Cross-Play)!

Hi r/digitaltabletop!

I’m a solo developer from Italy. I grew up playing traditional social card games with friends around a table, and I wanted to recreate that physical, tactical atmosphere digitally.

Today, my card game Grimoria officially went live on Steam for wishlists!

The Concept:

  • Atmospheric Tabletop: Designed around a dark wooden desk with candlelight, an inkwell, and physical cardstock feel.
  • Turn Order Strategy: Fast 15-second turns where the winner of the previous trick leads the next round. Ties are decided by who played first, unless countered by an elemental advantage.
  • 4-Player Royale & 2v2 Co-op: Play a chaotic free-for-all or share a health pool with an ally.
  • 100% Free-to-Play: Zero Pay-to-Win; all 25+ base creatures are unlocked through gameplay.

I also just released our newest card, the Dullahan ("Deal 1 damage on loss"), which punishes opponents whenever you lose a round.

If you enjoy digital tabletop and card games, wishlisting on Steam helps me out tremendously:

Thank you for checking it out!

I made a free online Quoridor app for Android – looking for feedback from people who know the game

Hi all,

I'm the developer of Wallz, an unofficial mobile take on Quoridor (not affiliated with Gigamic). I've been working on it for a while and would really value feedback from players who know the game better than the average app store user.

What's in it:

- Online matches against real players, 1v1 and 4-player

- Ranked play with a rating

- Bots for practice when you don't want to play online

It's free with ads; there's an optional subscription to remove them.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ddinsights.wallz

Mighty - Trick-taking card game

Hey! I'm ElenD, a solo dev. I built Mighty Online - A real-time online version of Korean card game called Mighty, 5-player trick-taking game but barely known elsewhere, so I would like to show/introduce new game here!

If you've played Euchre, Mighty will feel familiar - think of it as a deeper version: 5 players, you bid on tricks, and the declarer picks a secret partner each round. It uses 52-card deck (+ 1 Joker card)

• Real-time rooms + random matchmaking

• Solo mode vs bots

• English / 한국어 (Korean) / 中文 (Chinese)

Wanted to share a trick-taking card game most of you probably haven't played.

Free on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aistudio.mighty.cardgame

[Web] Date Knights - Superhero dating card game

Post image
4 Upvotes

Date Knights, a 2-player card game where a superhero and supervillain go on a date.

In the game, you have to balance earning rewards from "date" actions and "super" actions. The winner is the player who collects the most heart tokens (victory points) before the pool of hearts is completely depleted.

While our ultimate goal is a physical card release, we've put together an open digital beta using Playtest Parlor so anyone can jump in and play right in their browser, no downloads, or special software required. Just register on the site and you can vote for when you want to play. Once you match with another player you will get an email notifying you when your game can be played.

  • Player Count: 2 players
  • Time Commitment: 30–45 minutes per match
  • Feedback: The platform has a built-in feedback form at the end, we're mostly looking to dial in rules clarity and game balance.

Jump into a game here: https://playtestparlor.com/playtests/

Drop any immediate questions, bug reports, or thoughts right here in the comments or fill out the form. Thanks so much for checking out our indie project!

[Web] LockLine: Create formations of 3 on a blast enemies with orbital lasers.

Post image
0 Upvotes

LockLine is a small scale turn based tactics game, where you position and move units on connected nodes with the goal of forming 3-in-line formations. This lets you destroy one enemy unit with an orbital laser strike.

The game plays like a board game and is really about reading map states and balancing setting up and defending against your opponent.

After some initial feedback, I now added a new dedicated tutorial to walk players through all the mechanics. The pop-up hints I had before turned out not to be sufficient.

If this sounds interesting to you, have a look at the free web version on Itch.

Especially curious how people experience the new tutorial! But any feedback is very welcome.

Hey people, we're a group that plays regularly with Demon Bluff inspired characters with a Secret Hitler ruleset. We're looking for a few more to play on discord and the website used to host. We're hoping to teach anyone who's never played before as well.

We're a community of about 65 people and also player mafia and other social deduction games. The times posted are when we play "Dead May Hiss" for both experienced and new players. We have a lot of players who come to the Tuesday and Saturday time, hoping to find more for Friday and Sunday.

Here is our community discord: https://discord.gg/Kkk7C3aqW

Free up to 12 players Catanesque online board game

Hey everyone,

I made a free board game similar to Catan for upto 12 players. It didn't make sense to be paying to play the game with more than 4 people so figured I'd make an alternative and share it.

Would love if folks could test this out and let me know if there are any bugs or improvements I can make. Thanks!

To try it out go to - www.isletop.com

(Also plan on keeping this up for free and not charging anything only thing I get out of this would be a potential resume boost)

Grandpa's Island - a narrated pirate gamebook you play around one phone (EN/IT/ES, browser, free this week)

Thumbnail
radixitchio.itch.io
0 Upvotes

Hi! I'm the developer. Grandpa's Island is a pirate gamebook for family game nights: one phone in the middle of the table, 1-4 players, and the phone tells the story while you decide together.

- Every scene is read aloud, with a different voice for each crewmate, plus music and sound effects

- Risky moments roll a real d20 (no cheating, not even the narrator)

- Some moments happen at the real table: a riddle, a joke for the seals, a song for a stone door

- 37 scenes, about 25 minutes, 3 different endings

- Fully voiced in English, Italian and Spanish

- Plays in the browser, no account, no download, saves automatically

Transparency: I wrote it with the help of an AI (Claude) and the voices are generated with Kokoro, an open text-to-speech model. Everything is checked and played by a human; my 7-year-old son is the toughest tester.

Play it here, free until Sunday 18 October (then $2.99):

https://radixitchio.itch.io/grandpas-island

I'd love honest feedback: are the voices pleasant in your language? Is anything confusing on a phone? Did your family reach an ending?

Xplorers Redressed: a modern desktop wrapper for AsoBrain Xplorers (macOS/Windows/Linux)

My wife used to be an avid Xplorers player on AsoBrain. When we tried to get the old game working again, we ran into the Java applet problem: modern browsers no longer support it.

I found a way to keep using the original client and put it into a small desktop compatibility wrapper, now available as Xplorers Redressed.

Disclosure: I'm publishing this unofficial wrapper. All credit for the game, artwork, servers and community belongs to AsoBrain and the original creators.

It uses the same AsoBrain account and connects to the original servers, with the existing players and rankings. It loads the Xplorers room catalog, including Basic, Cities & Knights, teams, practice, tournaments and Map Editor. Rooms marked Closed by the original site stay disabled.

There are macOS universal, Windows x64 and Linux x64 downloads. No installed Java or browser plugin is needed; the original client runs through WebAssembly. There is fullscreen support and optional Enhanced rendering, with Original graphics as the default.

The original AsoBrain client downloads directly from AsoBrain on first use. No original client or artwork is included in the repository or release packages. The new framework source is GPL-3.0-only. An existing AsoBrain account and internet connection are required.

Source: https://github.com/askrejans/xplorers-redressed Downloads: https://github.com/askrejans/xplorers-redressed/releases/tag/v0.2.2

This is an early release, provided as compiled without publisher signing. I've checked live game and editor loading on macOS; Windows/Linux and every game interaction still need wider testing. Feedback from existing players would be helpful.

If this helps you return to the game, please support the original AsoBrain project: http://games.asobrain.com/pages/donate.php

Feel free to test it. Hope it helps!

Atlas Diplomacy now on Android!

Hey all, I'm the developer of Atlas Diplomacy, an online version of the classic strategy board game Diplomacy. It's now available as an Android app on Google Play:

👉 Get Atlas Diplomacy on Google Play

What you get:

  • Ranked matchmaking. Join the queue and it fills all seven seats for you, so you don't need to find a group first. Every game you finish updates your rating.
  • ZERO NMRs: AtlasDip has a zero-tolerance policy for ranked game NMRs. Games with an NMR for go into a grace period, then open to substitutes.
  • Private games with friends. Create a custom game and share the join code.
  • Fast or slow games. Rapid games finish in a session; standard games run over days if you prefer slow, careful negotiation.
  • Several game modes, including Standard and Gunboat (no-press Diplomacy).
  • Built-in chat for private and group negotiation with the other powers.
  • One account on the app and in the browser. Start a game on your phone and continue it at atlasdip.com on your computer.

If you've played Diplomacy on webDiplomacy, Backstabbr or around a table and want a mobile Diplomacy app, I'd love for you to try it. iPhone users: you can play in your browser at atlasdip.com for now, but an iPhone app IS coming!

Feedback is very welcome, especially from veterans: hop into the ranked games, check out the notifications and the mobile UI, test your meddle against the most savvy Diplomats online today. I'll be in the comments. See you on the board. 🗺️
