New tool [Commercial] I’m building Aethera VTT: animated maps, lighting, and a free hosting tier in your browser

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone, I’m the person building Aethera VTT at Aethera.tv. I wanted to share a short look at it and explain what I think is neat about it.

It runs in your browser: create a campaign, bring in a map, and invite your group with a link. Players use a free account, with no app to install or server to set up.

A few things it can do:

• Still or animated maps, with walls and doors, dynamic lighting, fog of war, and token vision.

• Token movement, distance measurement, initiative, conditions, and area-of-effect templates.

• Character sheets with inventory, equipment, features, and abilities plus dice rolls and chat.

• Campaign prep with scenes, compendiums, private GM notes, player handouts, and journal pins on the map.

• Ambient playlists and localized sound zones, with an optional connection to Aethera Voice for talking with your group.

The part I’m most excited about is bringing the atmosphere and the practical tools together. Animated maps, flickering lights, weather, and visual spell effects can help a scene feel alive, while the characters, notes, and encounter tools stay close at hand. I like the idea of the map feeling like somewhere your group is exploring.

Hosting has a free tier, which is all most GM's will ever need, with full campaigns and invites, 2 GB of storage, and a 40 MB limit per file. Players don’t need a paid plan. Optional paid host plans add more storage and larger uploads; as well as some advanced tools outside of the VTT.

You can explore the demo without signing up:

https://aethera.tv/app/vtt/demo-world

Overview and getting started:

https://aethera.tv/vtt

If you give it a try, I’d love to hear where you got stuck or what would stop you from using it for a session. That’s useful feedback while I keep improving it.

New tool Want to try Erstwild in Argo? Explore the digital book, build characters and share it with your campaign

Hi!

We’ve brought Erstwild, a Plotweaver setting, into Argo, and we’re opening 50 places for anyone curious to give it a try.

I’m part of the team building Argo. We’re preparing a demonstration to show Brotherwise Games, and we’d love to let fellow players and GMs explore the integration beforehand.

If you’ve used D&D Beyond or Demiplane, the idea will feel familiar: a digital book connected to your characters and campaigns. In Argo’s web app, you can:

  • Explore the book as a digital compendium, with search and bookmarks.
  • Add notes inside the book about rules or campaign prep, share them with your players, or send feedback to the publisher when something in the text is unclear.
  • Create a campaign and link Erstwild to it, sharing access to the setting with your players.
  • Build and edit characters using the character wizard and editor, whether you access the book through this invite or a linked campaign.
  • Download the PDF for the books in your library

Feel free to browse, make a character or explore it with your group. If you feel like sharing your thoughts afterwards, we’d love to hear them, here in the comments or through the feedback option in Argo.

We’re still developing the tech and refining how the book’s content works inside Argo, so some panels may need layout adjustments. If anything looks off or feels confusing, we’d appreciate a quick report through the notes feature in the book. It helps us make the experience better for everyone.

Curious about the game first? Here’s the Plotweaver website and the open alpha reference materials.

Try Erstwild in Argo

You’ll need to sign in or create a free Argo account. There are 50 places in this testing round.

A quick note about access: this invitation gives you temporary access to the Erstwild integration while the testing round is open. It doesn’t grant Argo Early Tester access or permanent ownership of the book. Access to the test version ends when the round closes.

Thanks for taking a look!

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has heard of a vtt called tales around the fire (talesaroundthefire.ca)? My group was looking for a free option and someone recommended it but it seems to be new.

New tool InkWyrd Audio - Music Player, Soundboard, and Voice Effects, all in one!

Hi all! I've created a new audio program specifically designed for use with VTT systems. It combines music playlists, programmable soundboards, and voice mods using VST3 files, all rolled into one app.

I'll be up front immediately and say this has been coded using Claude. All the ideas and features are entirely my own, but I can't code for shit, so here we are. If that's a deal breaker, I completely understand, I just wanted to get that out of the way.

Onto the program itself. Essentially, I made this for me. I've been using Kenku FM for years, but I was never 100% happy with. The main issue was always that you couldn't fade between tracks or playlists. If you went from tense ambience to battle music, you'd have a second of silence between tracks. It's not much, and I'm sure some people don't care about it, but I did, and it annoyed me.

So this started out as creating a small program to replace Kenku at my virtual table, something that allowed crossfading not just between tracks but whole playlists. And when it turned out that was quite easy when using a bot to do the coding for you, then ideas started coming thick and fast. Then I hit the idea of making the windows modular, like the old Winamp audio player. This allows users to have different sections of the player in different locations on their screen(s), which is surprisingly helpful. THEN I started looking at what was possible when it came to creating something like Voicemod, but without all the bloat and having to pay for specific voice effects. Because I don't know about you, but I've never been able to get virtual cables from my DAW to Discord to work properly.

With that, here's a list of what this thing can do:

Music Playlists - Basic functionality, right?
Full Library Management - Add every single music/ambient/etc track to your library and create playlists on the fly.
Fade/Crossfade - Fade out tracks to silence, or crossfade into a new track or playlist. Choose your own fade length for both.
Loop - Loop a single track until the end of time. Or until the end of a particular encounter, whatever suits you.
Soundboard - Each soundboard button can be renamed, recoloured, have an image embedded, have its volume adjusted, faded in, fade out, looped (rain, for instance, or the sounds of the sea, etc), and triggered randomly (looped rain + randomly triggered thunder = storm that isn't clearly on a loop!)
Scenes - Want to create the aforementioned storm for later use? Maybe with some spooky music looping the background? Set the rain running on a loop, play the ambient music on a loop, then set a thundercrack or howling wind on random. While it's all playing, save it as a Scene, and you'll be able to fade over to the whole setup with the click of a button!
Discord Integration - As should be standard for these types of programs, with a bit of bot setup you can bring InkWyrd into your Discord call. But also...
Local Play - You can also just use this as a local player with no Discord usage.
Voice Effects - You can run your own mic through the program, and apply any effects VST files that you may already have available. Anything from reverb to pitch changing to distortion; if you have a plugin for it that runs as a VST, you can use it. More information on this is available in the Github README.
Skins - Can't have something inspired by Winamp and not have optional skins, right? More info on this is also available on the Github.

If you've gotten this far, thank you! There's a tutorial video on the Github to help people get started, as well a text guide for reference.

Question / discussion starter vtt platform?

Hiya, I'm a forever DM that has been running in-person D&D for years now and wanted to expand to running games as a side hustle online to gain some much needed extra cash, but I don't know what VTT to start with. I'm quite computer savvy so tough UI or tons of options are welcome. All the recommended VTTs I've encountered are paid or requiring multiple D&D beyond licenses to actually access most content which I don't have. So far I'm leaning to start running games in tableplop, but I think there's a limited amount of games you can have there for free... So anyway, help out a fellow DM? What free/low cost platforms do you recommend?

New tool TableTop BRAMA - a tabletop RPG platform in development, looking for workflow feedback

I’m building TableTop BRAMA — a platform for tabletop RPG players, game masters, creators, communities, clubs and publishers.

I’d like feedback on the workflow and navigation: is it clear where you would go to find a game, create a character, or organise a campaign?

Here’s what I’m bringing together on the platform:

• Feed and news: player and community posts, reactions and discussions.

• Profiles, a personal workspace and messages: your games, materials and conversations.

• Game discovery and creation: listings, applications, languages, dates, formats, safety and accessibility.

• Campaigns and schedules: invitations, session planning, date proposals and attendance.

• Characters: step-by-step creation, sheets and PDF export, with workflows for D&D, Pathfinder, Cyberpunk RED, Blades in the Dark, Fate, Cairn and BRP.

• Reference: searchable rules, classes, species, backgrounds, equipment, spells, bestiary and more; coverage varies by system.

• Library and readers: bookshelves, PDFs, text, bookmarks and page discussions.

• Communities and Club OS: community spaces, club schedules, membership applications, people and roles.

• Original systems and the market: authors’ books, adventures and other materials, with publishing and market workflows in development.

• Workshop and publisher tools: release preparation, translations, rights, review, book design and live previews.

• Safety and support: reports, blocking, appeals where available and help.

• External services: existing Foundry worlds and Telegram-bot reminders/attendance, with separate setup.

• Languages: Ukrainian, English, Polish, Czech and Spanish; localisation is ongoing.

BRAMA is still in development. The screenshots use fictional demo people and content, including features still being built — they are not evidence of an existing active user base.

New tool [Commercial] I made a soundboard for my table and want to share

Apologies, I hope this won't sound too rehearsed, but I'm trying to be a bit professional. I lurk in the comments here on my personal account and many other DnD subreddits, and I just want to share what I've been working on with my fellow dungeon colleagues.

I run games for my friends and I've always wanted good sound at the table without hassle. Every option I tried either cost too much, wanted a subscription, or just didn't do what I needed. So I built one for myself, I'm pretty darn happy with it, and I wanted to share it.

It's called Soundscribe. It's for Windows, and it puts your sound effects, ambience and music on one board so you have full control of the immersion.

* Click a pad to play a sound, give it a hotkey, set it to loop
* Save scenes, like rain and a fireplace with thunder every 20 to 60 seconds, and switch between them with a crossfade
* Ducking option so the music drops under a sound effect, then comes back
* Run the board from your phone over your own Wi-Fi if you don't like keeping a laptop in front of you
* Hotkeys that work while your VTT or notes are in front
* Miniature player popout to keep in the corner if you're using a VTT, or just to keep it minimal on your screen

It comes with 124 sounds to get you started (tavern, dungeon, town, weather), and you can drop in your own files. Your files stay on your PC.

It's $5, one time. No subscription, no account, you own it forever, and updates are free.

You can hear the starter sounds on the page: https://peasantdesign.dev/soundscribe

Main website: https://peasantdesign.dev

I go by Peasant in some spaces and I thought PeasantDesign sounded fun. I plan to make more tools as needs come up, for DnD and maybe other games too. If you're a Twilight Imperium enjoyer, I'll probably make some stuff for that soon.

My philosophy is cheap software you can own for yourself. I don't plan on pushing tons of updates unless there's something cool I can add or something is truly broken. Or y'know, Windows 60 gets released and it needs an update.

Hosting a website is cheap, but there are costs. I got laid off earlier this year. I'm fortunate enough to be working again (albeit with a forsaken commute) but still rebuilding the finances, so any support is appreciated.

I want to be very upfront, so here's a few things I'm not totally happy with and want to update in the future if possible:

* Spotify/Apple Music/YouTube Music integration. Let me know how interested you are in these. I put a pause on them because they're a headache, but if they really matter, I'll try again.
* I am a Spotify guy. I built it, but Spotify's terms don't allow it in an app I charge for, so I pulled it.
* Apple Music might be doable, but it requires an Apple Developer Account which costs a decent bit of money, so if this picks up, I would be happy to invest in that. Not sure how many people use Apple Music in this space.
* YouTube Music is probably the second most popular for TTRPGs I would imagine, but they have some rules that conflict with how the app works. There might be options to fix this in the future.
* Lots of people in this space own their own music anyway, so being able to drag and drop the playlists that already live on your PC gives you full control.

Happy to answer questions or take feature requests. I'm actively using it in my own games, so I'm fixing things as I find them.

New tool TableForge - A Tabletop Helper App that I built. (Sorry it's so long)[Commercial]

It was mentioned that this may be a better place for my post. sorry if this doesn't belong here either.

But, I have a campaign manager app that i have been working on for a little while now, and I'm curious if anyone else might be interested in it. It is still in development or i guess you could say early access, so there may still be some bugs i haven't found yet. It is called TableForge, you can download a demo at questforgegaming.com or buy the entire thing, its $15 right now. If you buy it and don't like it, just refund it, if you buy it and help me with it by finding major bugs or coming up with new and cool ideas, I'll refund your money and let you keep you full GM access. The demo is limited, and there is an activation code you get when you buy it. After that, you don't need the internet to use it, and you own it forever, with lifetime updates (internet needed for this) the more I work on it. players can join over Wifi, and the GM tools are the only cost, all players can sync to the GM for free.

So a little backstory...

I know, I know, the market is getting flooded right now with all sorts of them. I built mine for the way my group likes to play. I did make some rules that can be adjusted for homebrew. It is 5e and 5.5e compatible.

I use my laptop to GM and have a small house that doesn't fit many people. Long story short, over the years i got more and more apps that i would use to GM. Google sheets, one note, obsidian, some websites for music, tools, quick references. It got to be overwhelming for me. My frustrations were, I like to share notes and images with my players, but didn't have a good way to without using another app, I like to have 1 master set of lists for items, spells, etc. that everyone draws from. I'm weird, I like the information to be the same across all player sheets. I also like to be able to track the players information. Anyway, that's what this does. Yes, it has all general features. Campaign notes, player, sheets, and integrated battle table (NOT a battle map system.)

The biggest thing for me is the ability to easily share notes and images with players. Send them information. and the interactive battle table and 1 compendium that holds items, spells, races, classes, etc. so as a GM when you want to add something new for a player, you do it 1 time and their account has access to it. I want this to be a table helper, not a video game. I apologize again for now long this is, but if you are interested check out the website and let me know what you think.

Question / discussion Testing 4K animated video performance on digital display setups (4480×2520, 32×18 grid, 140px scale) – How are you handling looping video memory?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone,

Testing out some performance benchmarks for an animated siege breach encounter map across digital display tables and browser-based VTT setups.

### Specs & Technical Pipeline:

* **Display Canvas:** 4480 × 2520 px (Native 16:9 4K)

* **Playable Grid:** 32 × 18 tiles (160 ft × 90 ft at 140px/square standard scale)

* **Camera Projection:** 90° Nadir Orthographic (zero perspective tilt, ensuring physical minis and digital tokens sit completely flat)

* **Formats Tested:** Looping WebM (VP8/VP9 hardware acceleration) vs. high-bitrate MP4 for local TV displays.

For the assets, I design the layout, choke points, and grid geometry by hand, and utilize an AI-assisted texturing pipeline for base terrain rubble before doing the final compositing and loop animations.

Curious to hear from folks running embedded TV tables or lightweight VTTs:

  1. Are you finding WebM or MP4 performs better for prolonged loop playback on lower-spec client hardware?

  2. Does 140px/square remain your sweet spot for 4K physical table displays, or do you prefer higher pixel density for physical miniatures?

Question / discussion How much should a VTT do for the players?

I've vibed a VTT just for the two tables I run. It's very specific to D&D 5.5e, and all my players are first time players.

The D&D rule set is pretty huge, and character sheets quickly become overwhelmingly complicated for new players. So I'm trying to make it as easy as possible for them to deal with combat.

Some things that I have added:

  • Target the creature on the map, automatically be told its degree of cover.
  • Roll to hit and automatically include all bonuses.
  • Roll damage and automatically include all bonuses.
  • Take into account all conditions (bless, poisoned, etc) for rolls
  • They don't have to keep track of spell slots, and limited use powers like Radiance of Dawn.

This morning I've added in Weapon Masteries, as they always forget that they graze on a miss, or that if they hit a creature it's vexed.

I'd be interested in hearing whether I'm adding too much support. They seem to like it, but they're certainly not learning the rules of the game, and they'd be lost if we met in person and played without the VTT.

Question / discussion I spent 2 years building my own TTRPG software. It barely makes any money, and I think I’m okay with that.

I’m 26, and some health issues have made my social anxiety much worse over the years. At this point, I struggle a lot with simply leaving my house. Being around people, feeling watched, having to interact with strangers… it can be exhausting.

But TTRPGs have always been different.

I’ve always loved writing and creating worlds, characters and stories. I discovered TTRPGs a little over ten years ago, watched tons of actual plays, and eventually started playing myself.

My first sessions were amazing. I’ve always been very quiet and pretty antisocial lol, but somehow, around a TTRPG table, I felt comfortable.

And becoming a GM for the first time? I absolutely loved it.

I still GM today, and now that my social anxiety is probably at its worst, those sessions have become a genuine little bubble of happiness for me. I don’t go out much anymore, but TTRPGs still give me a reason to talk to people and interact with others.

In a weird way, they help me work on that part of myself too.

As a GM, I’ve always been terrible at organizing my thoughts. Notes everywhere, characters in one place, lore somewhere else, encounters in another tool... I kept trying different software, but there was always something missing.

A little over two years ago, I got tired of looking for THE perfect GM tool (for me !). So I decided to build my own. I’d started learning how to code in high school and kept using it for personal projects over the years, so I felt like I was at least somewhat capable of pulling it off.

I couldn’t really work anymore because of my situation, and having such a huge project to focus on also helped me feel like I wasn’t completely useless.

At first, I wasn’t even planning to release it. But at some point, I realized I also needed a project that could maybe help me live a little more comfortably financially. So I started thinking beyond my own needs.

I added more (and more) options, more ways to customize game systems, and features I personally would probably never have needed for my own games, but that I knew could be useful to other GMs. That also meant the project took much longer than it probably needed to.

Eventually, it stopped feeling like just “my tool” and started feeling like something other people could genuinely use too.

So I decided to release it. With basically : zero audience, zero marketing experience, and absolutely no idea what I was doing.

(I’m not going to name it or link it because this isn’t supposed to be an advertisement.)

I had spent two years building it, but I also remembered being younger and constantly broke, and how much I would have loved having access to something like this for free.

So I made almost everything free. 🤣

There is a small optional subscription with some extra features, but I’ve always tried really hard not to make the free version intentionally frustrating. Even when I talk about Premium, I usually describe it more as a way to support the project.

The software has been public for about six months now. And somehow, despite me being hilariously bad at promoting it, people are actually using it. (Almost a thousand, that’s crazy.)

Not enough for me to live off it. But enough for something else to happen that I genuinely didn’t expect.

People send me feedback and ideas.

GMs tell me it makes their sessions easier or more fluid.

Some tell me they love being able to create and customize their own game system without needing to know how to code.

I’ve had students thank me because they can use almost everything without paying.

Some people actively follow the project and help me improve it.

And my own players love using it during our sessions. Some still use physical dice around the table, while others roll in the app because they don’t feel like doing the math. Some take notes on paper, others directly in the app. I really love seeing how differently everyone uses the software.

I never expected to become rich from this, and I know it sounds a little cliché, but in a way, I think I did. Not financially, obviously! But I genuinely never expected something I originally made just for myself to become useful to other people, or to mean something to them. And I’ve realized that means much more to me than I ever thought it would.

So yeah.

I spent more than two years building a piece of software that barely makes me any money. And I’m really happy I did.

It gave me something to work toward when I felt like I couldn’t do much else.

It made me talk to people I never would have met otherwise.

It gave me the courage to publicly share the biggest personal project I’ve ever made.

It taught me an absurd amount of things.

And most importantly, I actually finished it.

I didn’t give up because I thought nobody would care.

Turns out, some people do. And that feels pretty great.

I think I just needed to talk about all of this somewhere. I wasn’t really sure who to tell, or even how to put it into words.

But looking back at everything, I’m starting to realize how much TTRPGs have given me over the years. Playing, creating worlds, and eventually building this project brought people and conversations into my life at a time when I was slowly shutting myself away from both.

I don’t know how to explain it without sounding a little cheesy, but it genuinely feels like my love for TTRPGs is helping me heal, little by little.

And I think I just wanted to say that somewhere.

P.S : English isn’t my first language, so sorry if some parts sound a little weird. I’m actually posting this in English because, for some reason, it feels safer than posting it in a subreddit in my own language.

Yes, I’m apparently the kind of person who can feel stressed and embarrassed about sending messages even anonymously on the internet or in games lol.

So writing this post is already slightly outside my comfort zone. 🧍‍♀️

Question / discussion Considering switch to Foundry or Owlbear

Hi all - I DM a local game for my family with two laptops running Roll20: one for the players so they can see the map, tokens, images of scenery, npcs, etc and I use the other to control what is displayed on the player laptop.

It works well enough but I’m just wondering if Foundry or Owlbear would give me a better experience. I keep seeing recommendations for Foundry specifically and from ex-Roll20 users.

Looking for a down to earth breakdown of what making that switch (to either) would be like, pros, cons, etc…

Thank you

New tool Eclipse RPG. A VTT that’s here to change the game!

First off, I apologize in advance, yes, it’s another VTT post! XD But give me a chance, because this one is different, and in a way that’s much cooler and better compared to other new VTTs popping up and the current ones on the market.

I’m super proud to introduce Eclipse Nexus, a platform built to play tabletop RPGs online from start to finish: you create your character sheet, find or assemble your group, and play your session, all in one place.

The platform features Eclipse RPG (its own system with integrated combat, dice rolling, and real-time defense and damage calculations). But if your group plays a different system (D&D, Pathfinder, Vampire, etc.), you can create custom sheets and bring your own rules and settings without any hassle!

What does Eclipse Nexus offer?

  • Social Network (Ecos): An internal feed to connect GMs and players looking for a group. Share campaigns, character sheets, maps, set up scheduling polls, and add allies.
  • Lightweight & Feature-Packed VTT: Runs smoothly on both low-end and high-end PCs. Features customizable rolls and throw effects, quick checks (dice, coins, cards), dynamic fog of war, traps, and one-click terrain changes. (For GMs: remember that surprise teleport that takes forever to set up on the fly? Here it’s automated!)
  • 3D Tabletop: Switch seamlessly between 2D and 3D whenever you want, with support for custom 3D models or presets from our library.
  • Dynamic Effects: The GM has full control over the scene. You can instantly toggle between day and night, adjust lighting intensity, and choose from a variety of weather effects like rain, dense fog, storms, and more—updating the table for everyone in real time for maximum immersion.
  • And much more: Character sheet duels, a dedicated space for artists to showcase and sell their art, and more.

Free and in Beta

Since we are currently in open beta, you might encounter a few bugs, but we are actively working on continuous improvements. Best of all: it’s completely free to play. Just create an account and start playing in minutes!

Feel free to ask any questions in the comments; I’ll be happy to answer everyone.

Our links:

Here are two previews for you:

Hope to see you all in the Nexus!

Question / discussion Best VTT / best practices for a weak laptop?

Searched through the sub but best answer was 4 years ago, so things might have changed.

Edit: This is for GMing.

Testing out AboveVTT, Roll20 and Owlbear currently for a new campaign that's about to start. Issue is my laptop is a Chromebook, 4GB RAM (borrowed off my nephew after he left school). With computer prices atm, don't really wanna fork out for a new one at this stage.

New tool developing a free app for worldbuilding and running D&D sessions for almost a year

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

Hello there,

I have been working on Dungeon Master Tool for a while and I wanted to share it here. It is not really a VTT. I mostly made it for worldbuilding and for people who play at a real table.

You can build your world with cards for NPCs, monsters, items and locations. There is a world map with nested maps, a mind map and an era timeline. During the session you get a battle map, a combat tracker and a second screen you can show to your players on a TV or another monitor.

It also works for online games. Your players can join from their own app and see what you share with them.

It runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, Android and iOS. Everything works offline and you don't need an account unless you want to play online.

https://github.com/elymsyr/dungeon-master-tool

I would really like to hear what you think.

Thanks :)

New tool Check out RealmRiders - A VTT with proximity voice chat

Hello VTT friends! I've just launched a browser based VTT I've been working on for several years, https://realm-riders.com/. I built this to play d&d remotely with my family, but it has grown to the point where I thought I would share it with others. It has your normal tools you expect from a VTT and see on here all the time, and honestly I won't claim to do those any better than anyone else.

It does have a few really fun features that my group and I have been loving though, one of which is proximity voice chat that interacts with the walls/doors from dynamic lighting. (Before you read further, proximity voice chat is a premium feature, but I have a two week free premium trial (no card required) to give it a try! Pretty much everything else is free right now though).

Essentially, each player's voice chat is tied to their token and abides by proximity chat rules - a player's volume gets quieter the further they are away, if they are on the other side of a wall or closed door they are muffled, and if they are too far away or through too many walls you can't hear them at all. As a DM, you can toggle between speaking to all players (no proximity), specific players (no proximity), or speaking as a token (proximity tied to selected token/NPC). For no proximity, I usually describe it as the DM is the voice in your head. As you can imagine, this has led to some absolutely amazing and hilarious moments.

So far, a few memorable moments are:

  • Introducing a player that joined the campaign after a few sessions by having his token imprisoned in another room. He could hear the other party members approaching and was shouting for help. The other party members could hear his muffled cries and eventually found and freed him.
  • Two party members wandering off from the others and subsequently stumbling into an ambush out of earshot. The other party members didn't pay attention to where they went and just said "Eh, we'll just wait for them to come back" literally two seconds before the ambushed party members said "WHERE IN THE WORLD ARE THE OTHERS?". Que to one of them ten seconds later just screaming "HELP, HELP ME, SOMEBODY HELP ME!" hoping that one of them would hear.
  • As a DM, voicing the big bad as he turned invisible and taunted the party as he slipped away.

An additional feature that is in the works for proximity voice chat is Languages. The idea currently is: a character has a table of languages on their character sheet. In the voice bar, a player can select from that list of languages one they are currently speaking in. If other players have that language in their set, they can understand that player as they normally would. Otherwise the audio is rearranged a bit so it sounds like they are literally speaking a language they can't understand.

The character sheets are also pretty cool and customizable. If you've ever worked in a pdf editor like Adobe Acrobat, it may feel familiar. You can place fields on a sheet, name them, then reference the values of those fields from other fields, formulas, buttons, or tools. A simple example of this is the ability to set the character sheet button that initiative rolls from when players roll initiative on the scene. On the character sheets, the players have a button field called [initiative_button]. The roll command the button does when pressed is (1d20+[initiative_mod]). For movement, you can set the distance a token can move by referencing the [speed] field. The character sheets are fully customizable and can be started from a provided 5e template or a blank page, so hopefully any system can work!

This is my first ever try at sharing this outside of my friend and family circle so take it easy on me. If any of this piques your interest please check it out and let me know what you think. Thanks for reading and I hope today treats you well.
