Infinity first?

(Offline Solo) I know I’ve seen a lot that Enigma is better to make first because it unlocks so many other builds for your account. I understand the logic. I have found a Ber & Sur in LK runs with my sorc. If I find another Sur or Ber, I’m really tempted to make the Infinity.

I’ve never had one before… would self-weld ES Nova sorc be strong enough to let me farm other areas on p7? I don’t have really anything else (No shako, griff, viper or arach). Being able to easier farm p7 pits, CS, etc would be nice to mix things up.

Is there a good reason to wait and make the enigma first? Would the nova sorc be strong enough without the other items? Any help would be great! (Thankful to even have the problem of being close!)

Edit: I realized I was secretly hoping you’d all tell me that Infinity would be a good first option. I hear ya loud and clear… Enigma is the right move, Infinity is the hasty move to have something now

i went with infinity first and i regret nothing. i made it as soon as i found a griffons, playing a paladin. personally, i don't mind the walking

I also made infinity first. I've had many happy hours farming with my Nova Sorc and Javazon. If I'd waited for Enigma, I'd still be waiting. If you're doing LK anyway maybe Enigma is the smarter play. But given my favorite characters, I'd rather have a running Amazon with infinity than a teleporting Zon without. Maybe if you're a paladin or warlock main your decision will be different.

ES nova sorc shines when you have all the other pieces to it. While holding infitiy you need to reach 105 faster cast rate break point. If you don’t have the gear to do that then it’s not worth it.

If you’re struggling on gear and your only toon is a sorc and you don’t want to level another toon I would probably make an infinity for the merc you could later self wield so that you can break more immunities with your current build.

A poorly geared Hammerdin with enigma will have an easier time farming then a sorc with infinity. Dual spirit, lore, fcr rings and ammy, magefist/trangs/caster gloves, caster belt, whatever boots. All very easy to get and upgrades will come really quick. Shako, arachs, rare rings and ammy/soj/maras.

Enigma is definitely the way to go but infinity is number 2 fwiw

First two priorities are enigma and CTA, then grief/fort, then IMO second grief for trav running, then infinity, then phoenix.

Enigma is the flagship runeword if you’re not a sorc. It’s the best thing you can do for your char if you have the runes.

Enigma opens up so many builds which in turn will allow you to open up more builds.

I’m just about to make my second one in single player to stop having to swap gear around as much

Thing is enigma is the only way to get teleport for others but Sorcerer. That immediately makes it the best choice

I made Infinity first on my offline save. No regrets as Sorc is my favourite character and nova sorc slaps.

I also wanted to make infinity first but I found a Jah pretty early on from a monster standing in the way of an LK super chest. I reluctantly made an enigma once I found 2 Surs and although it's kinda boring, it's really the obvious choice. every other class becomes so much more viable

I made infinity first on softcore and didn't regret it, although I did regret making a nova sorc. I had a griffon's but you need quite good gear for the nova sorc to really shine (e.g. enough +skills to get ES enough not to be fragile). I discovered one of my favorite builds is the lightning strike zon. I made a list of the builds that benefit more from infinity or enigma and just picked the one with more of the builds I wanted to try out

Enigma is the best item in the game. Infinity second though. If you’re only making 1, non eth brandistock is pretty good for everything.

You will be chunking through the game (in P7) with a Teleporting Warlock or Mosaic Sin, no comparison to any sorc. You will be much tougher. Quickly leveling another char is so much more time effective. Surely the Conviction Aura is nice, even with Warlock or Mosaic-Sin you will notice but Teleport mobility beats that. Make your favorite char once the p7 item farmers got all the neccessary items.

Enigma first for sure imo… it just allows so many more chars… infinity is great.. but if you are self wielding but you need the right equipment to make it work.. you need to hit 105 bp.. and lvl 40 es is pretty imporant… so if you don’t have skillers/anni/torch/griffons… its not gonna be amazing. Have you run Ubers yet? I usually put together a pally for torches before I get the runes to make enigma.
