If you saw my post the other day, I made a Lower Kurast calculator for people to aim at finding runes in chests. River of Flame works basically the same way and is probably easier to work with.
Still an involved setup, and clunky website to use, but it works. New video on using it including the calibration step, and some mspaint to explain the RNG along the way.
It's not exact or guaranteed, but it gets you much closer than to random chance. The trade off is missing out on gems and gcs etc. though. For Vex+ it's probably worthwhile, and for Ber+ targetting even better.
Zods? Yea it could support Act 5 chests too for them, I don't know them super well if there are any that would spawn with a good consistent setup. Might look into it one day, but for now I am a bit burnt out and just going to get back to playing the game for a bit. I might do a RoF post like my LK one too.
I know some people will hate on it like the other post, but I've had some nice messages from people with this helping them, they can't afford a PC or have other impediments stopping them from grinding out runes. It's offline, just let them play how they want, and if this gets them playing more Diablo 2 and enjoying it, that sounds good to me.
Some FAQs from people using the tool already:
Do I need to calibrate waypoints? No, this was an idea I had to quickly move the RNG so you don't wait as long. In theory works but is less granular. Try it out if you want though, if you calibrate enough you can probably start taking some crack shots at 20m+ Jahs within seconds.
Do I need to get the seed every new game? Yes, each new game start gets a new random seed. Get the seed and then either use the seed to calibrate or run.
Do I need to refresh the gamble window? No, in fact never. You need the gamble window, in Act 1, from its starting state. I think if you look at the regular vendor inventory or do other things and come back it won't work. Go straight from spawn to Gheed.
Do I need to change the fire rate? For PC and PS5 Probably not, unless something is happening between different devices I don't know about. For Switch and Xbox, I assume keep the PS5 settings, but I haven't nailed that down yet. I don't own it on Xbox or Switch to sort it out on those consoles.
Will it work on Xbox/Switch? I don't see why not, I can't check and set it all myself, but the fire rate is variable so you can change it yourself if calibration alone doesn't keep the RNG steady.
Any other questions? Ask below I'll add it here!
