We've had some rough days with rain and that kinda kept the deer hunker down more ..bambino is doing amazing getting around ,he's staying close to momma though , he doesn't come running to me anymore when he hears me ,his sister nala is taking over in that dept .she can be all the way over in my neighbors yard and ill yell nala ,bambino they both look but only she runs .I think he knows key to his survival is to stick close to momma .which is a great thing ..I think he ventured off away from momma to soon and ended up hurt..Haven't seen whiskey Jax in a long time feels like forever not even on the camera at night i pray everyday he's still alive and doing great ..

Ughh

This our friendly neighbourhood one-eyed buck. He's been missing his eye since he was a yearling, I think. Anyway, we still think he's pretty majestic.

Question about Trophic Memory

I’ve heard that deer antlers (might be able to) remember trauma that they endured and grow back the next year differently because of it. If a deer were to lose nearly their entire antler except for the base where it falls off every year, would it grow back shorter or normally grow back as it would without losing most of it. (Here’s a picture of a deer getting really close to me a few years back on a trip to New England)

Been watching this legendary Whitetail buck on our land the past few years as he has steadily grown larger and more elusive. Have never seen him in person or during daylight hours, ever. Maybe this year I will.
