Discussion 💭🗯️ Musicians whose careers stalled after Covid

Post image

Camila Cabello was huge 2017-2019, but her popularity really dwindled post Covid. What other musicians were popular in the 2010s but fizzled after 2020s?

Charlie Puth
Halsey
Chain smokers
Alissa Cara
Roddy Rich (I really thought he was going to have his minute of fame have longevity after “The Box” but I was wrong)
Travis Scott ( a bit)

Chainsmokers fall off was more because their style died, not because of covid specifically. The house/edm/house pop kind of ran its course even by 2019

The music of Chainsmokers, for me, hold so many emotions that is hard to specify. It followed me through the best days of my life. University years, being on an exchange program in North Sweden.

Paris was my favorite music even before that. Then I met a girl with who I fell in love so deeply I will never do again, simply because I’m not a teen anymore. We lived together for half a year and were sweethearths - I still think of those days fondly, even after everything bad happened later.

Her favorite band was also Chainsmokers, and her favorite from them was also Paris.

I’m sad they didn’t stay as popular as they were around COVID. Their etherian style is so calming and moody I’m yet to find a similar band.

I’m glad that you had this experience.

This is how most people feel about the bands they loved during this period in their life. It doesn’t really go away.
