Discussion šŸ’šŸ—Æļø Musicians whose careers stalled after Covid

Post image

Camila Cabello was huge 2017-2019, but her popularity really dwindled post Covid. What other musicians were popular in the 2010s but fizzled after 2020s?Ā

Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, Charlie Puth, Lizzo, Meghan Trainor, John Legend, Rihanna

I don't think Rihanna even wants to perform or sing anymore. She makes millions in other ways.

Rihanna is a mom of 2 kids now (the father is some rapper), so she’s probably focusing on her family too

He’s not ā€œsome rapperā€. Stop being ignorant

She only performs when she’s given millions

I still remember her Super Bowl performance and I can not think of a better example of a person who had zero interest in performing or singing even while doing so.

Rihanna been at the top since 2004/5. You think she might be tired of the scene after 15yrs dominating

Wait, she’s legit retired? I just thought she took forever to come up with new music. What used to be release a new album 3-4 years is now like random time frames unless your Swift and release so much that people are completely sick of you.

Rihanna hasn’t put out an album in 10 years and is currently #5 in monthly listeners on Spotify. She shouldn’t be in this list, imo.

Out of that list

Ed Sheeran is the only one I would fully disagree

He’s obv not hit the same heights as he did when shape of you and perfect but is still huge and wouldn’t say stalled or fizzled out

Rihanna though her career stalled since her last album although she has that star power which has worked in her favour so ig stalled music wise but she seems bigger now than weirdly post Covid idk how to explain it

I still can't believe such a beautiful love song was written about Chrissy Teigan. She is ugly on the inside idk what John Legend saw in her.

I really don't understand either.

I don't think Ed Sheeran's drop was due to COVID, I honestly think the lack of mathematical symbols for albums names hurt him.

People are naming artists in this thread who have been around long enough to have had multiple downturns in their careers. The artists who's careers were killed by covid were newly famous with a popular single or two. Not people who were super famous from 2005-2013 and past the peak of their careers by 2019. Too many names in this thread naming artists who had already had solid careers for like 10-20 years before covid.
