Discussion šŸ’šŸ—Æļø Musicians whose careers stalled after Covid

Post image

Camila Cabello was huge 2017-2019, but her popularity really dwindled post Covid. What other musicians were popular in the 2010s but fizzled after 2020s?Ā

I haven’t seen much of Lorde lately

She released an album in 2025 and one in 2021. Man of the year and what was that got some attention but her first two albums are better

to me solar power didn’t really feel like it was written with the goal of charting. it more has the vibe of an album made with artistic goals in mind. similar to the most recent miley cyrus album

I love melodrama so I was a bit sad about her last two but I didn’t think they were bad

They weren't good, though. They're just kinda there. I feel like they both checked boxes without trying. I don't listen to either of them. I listen to the first two a lot.

Always get her confused with Charli XCX

People say they’re alike, they say they’ve got the same hair.

I feel like Lorde was more for Gen Z anyway. I saw she played gov ball and they all seemed into it

Lorde’s most popular song is from 2013. Gen Z is 1997-2012. How is Lorde for Gen Z?

I mean babies and 5 year olds aren't really big on music. She's literally for gen z based on what you said..

Okay so if babies and 5 year olds aren’t big on music, and Gen Z was mainly babies and 5 year olds at the peak of Lorde’s popularity, tell me how it’s for them?Ā

how was it mainly babies when gen Z starts from 1997? Half of gen z was aged 8-16 years old in 2013, and she was also successful after that most popular song in 2013. If not for gen z, who was she more relevant for? I'm gen Z, I can say one of the albums I grew up with in my early teenage years was Pure Heroine. In my later teenage years, Melodrama

Do you you know that millennials existĀ

And most 8 year olds aren’t into pop music eitherĀ

šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø u know what? sure lmao

She recently played gov ball and the crowd was very into it. Gov ball is usually a very young crowd. Lorde started her career in 2013 and then fizzled but it feels like Gen Z are very into her now.

Also, I said ā€œforā€, not ā€œfromā€

u/Greeneyesablaze Jun 15 '26

Neither you nor I said ā€œfrom,ā€ so I’m not sure why you felt the need to clarify.

I said that because of your comment regarding Gen Z years
