Davao City will soon be home to the Philippines’ largest veterinary hospital, the Philippine Emergency Veterinary Hospital, which is set to open on October 18, 2026. Located at 1041 Mt. Apo Street, beside Rogen Inn in the Poblacion District, the facility will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, specializing in emergency veterinary care while providing access to advanced diagnostics and specialized treatments for pets across Davao City and Mindanao.
Designed to address critical and urgent animal health needs, the hospital will feature specialized facilities and treatments, including CT scanning, endoscopy, acupuncture, and a physiotherapy center equipped for hydrotherapy. These capabilities will support the hospital’s focus on handling emergency cases while expanding access to specialized veterinary services that remain uncommon in the region. First envisioned in 2021 by founder and CEO Dr. Ronald Lunar, the project aims to address the growing demand for veterinary health care and animal welfare services in Davao City.
With construction now in its final stages, the hospital’s ground-floor storefront and signage are already in place ahead of its scheduled opening. Beyond expanding the city’s veterinary infrastructure, the facility is expected to help address the challenges faced by pet owners seeking urgent medical attention, advanced diagnostics, and specialized treatment, which have often required travel to Metro Manila.
As Davao City continues to strengthen its position as a regional hub, the opening of a 24/7 veterinary hospital specializing in emergency cases marks a significant addition to the city’s health care services for animals. It also reflects the growing demand for accessible, comprehensive, and advanced pet care in Davao City and the wider Mindanao region.
