Certification

Hey, so i'm not sure which certification to go with here. Its provided by Amazon career choice and the amazon one upon completion gives you 2 comptia certs them being a+ and network+, starting amazon wage $27/hr and the 2nd one starts at $33/hr but would amazon be the better option long term?

Learn the material independently online, pay for and sit for the cert exams, and apply for the job. I recommend Prof. Messer on YouTube.

Build a homelab for hands on knowledge. Spin up a few vm’s. Break stuff. Learn.

I am highly against boot camps, especially when the knowledge is attainable independently and you can get a+ and network+ for a fraction of the cost. That being said, if you want to do a boot camp, then do it! I only am against it because you can save a lot of money learning independently.

Vm's? Well this wouldn't cost me anything out of pocket since its covered by career choice.

4.5k for a+ and net+ is insane.

you can learn the same exact thing online basically for free.

I have A+ and net+ in northern VA area and I always apply to AWS for entry level network technicians and I get no luck, I'm not trying to discourage you but I've had better luck with getting interview with critical facilities in other companies.

I'm not sure if its different in Texas.

I would do the data center infrastructure one and I would go for NTT over teksystems.

AWS seems to hires everyone but then also super picky at the same time.

I wish you the best of luck.

Where are you finding these and how’s it work? You sign up for the course, complete it, then the associated company gets you a job? I’ve spoken to TEKSystems a few times and they always fall through. They also only speak in buzzwords and don’t seem to know what they’re talking about

I work for Amazon and these are provided through career choice, as well as bachelor's degrees, and trade school.

If you really want to work for DC, AWS is hiring WBLP Program now, probably you need to relocate. But it is one of the opportunities that you can get into this field even though you only have high school grad. Or try to apply for contactor companies like Tek System/ IES and so on.
