The racial climate in the US is terrible right now. It's never been great, but right now is a nightmare. It's always brought up because it's a major topic in the country, and to deny that is to deny what's happening around us.
With that being said, lately, anything remotely like this done by someone of color has been widely used to generalize their entire community.
I'm not standing with the first comment, because nothing in this video is racial, but what they say doesn't come from nowhere
Race and politics are relevant though. Race not because it matters to me, but how we as a society view it based on our personal prejudices. Politics affects everything. From the top to the bottom in how we as a civilization put things in place for everyday life.
There is a trend on subreddits, but in this case your point is speculative rather than reactive. "I'm sure they will start now". "If the races were reversed." You make hypotheticals assuming what the comments will be, practically ensuring this devolves into a race discussion when it could have been just about two people.
Because in this case it literally didn't even happen yet, as there are zero racist comments in any of these threads. So that means that they literally just fabricated that racial narrative and injected it into the conversation where it was not on topic before that.

The downvotes are incoming for us both. But you know how it is with specific people. If a certain someone does something then they say it's because of their race. If another group does it then they're an individual and all you'll see is jokes. It's a lot easier to deal with when you realize that there is a culture of narcissism and double standards involved.

When I watched this video, I didn't once think of anyone's race who was involved because it doesn't matter. Then I go to the comments and see "if the races were reversed blah blah blah". Huh?? Theyâre saying itâs not being brought up in this post because of race. They are bringing up race on purpose for people to think about the discrepancy in post where the reverse happens. And they are doing so because there is an ever increasing amount of blatantly racist people in the other posts. They want a racial conversion to happen in these cases just as much as the other so people can clearly see their cognitive dissonance and stop doing it in general. Acknowledging the reality that other governments purposely try to use social media to stir up racial hatred in america and online broadly (and I guess you could argue the current US government is also cool with this because Musk loves imthat type of stuff) isn't an excuse for anything and i am not really sure why you'd frame it like that. Because they use it as an excuse to say that it's mostly bots and this isn't a real problem. Or that it isn't many people when, yes, it is. I don't believe in giving them plausible deniability at all because we would still see the same types of comments if bots never existed. There would just be less comments.
