Acknowledging the reality that other governments purposely try to use social media to stir up racial hatred in america and online broadly (and I guess you could argue the current US government is also cool with this because Musk loves imthat type of stuff) isn't an excuse for anything and i am not really sure why you'd frame it like that. Especially considering I highlighted that those attitudes absolutely exist.

Because they use it as an excuse to say that it's mostly bots and this isn't a real problem. Or that it isn't many people when, yes, it is. I don't believe in giving them plausible deniability at all because we would still see the same types of comments if bots never existed. There would just be less comments. I'm old enough to remember, that's all.

Its getting a little boring now because they just repeat the same arguments over and over again. As soon as you catch them in a trap, they pretend it didnt happen or stop responding completely. I figure at a minimum, its wasting their time so they are harrassing me rather than other people
Let me guess, theyâre saying it isnât about race or that youâre bringing up a hypothetical. As if we donât see it everyday. Then, if you post a screenshot or a link to other posts and the comments there, they come up with some excuse. Whether that be saying itâs just one comment, knowing that youâre not going to waste your time posting every single similar comment, or blaming bots. When they run out of excuses, they stop responding and probably go find someone else to gaslight, right?

I think you got it basically right. The only thing you missed is they ask for an example, you provide the example and then they say because it didnt include a racial insult or specifically mention a race, theres no way it could be racist.
