UEFA Nations League r/coybig - Mod note ahead of upcoming Nations League fixtures
To all in r/coybig,
As many of you already know, we have a very controversial set of fixtures upcoming for the Irish Men's Football National Team in the UEFA Nations League.
Let it be absolutely clear: we the mods here at r/coybig condemn genocide of any form and stand whole heardetly behind Palestine. We also stand firmly behind and support the players of our National Team, who have been put in a very difficult situation by the FAI, UEFA and our Irish Government.
We would like to remind everyone of the rules that are in place to protect our members on this sub. Please be civil to one another. Report trolls, downvote and move on - do not feed them.
To protect our members during a time, when the moderators will be under increased pressure from users of other subs, we will temporarily tighten our restrictions around this sub. Accounts that have been created within the last 30 days or accounts that do not have enough positive karma, will not be able to engage within r/coybig during this time. We want to stress again that these are temporary restrictions and will be lifted after this extended international break.
Finally, a match thread will be created for every Nations League match this international break, including those versus Israel. This decision was not taken lightly and was not unanimous within our mod team.
As we approach 25,000 members on this sub, let's continue to support Our Boys in Green through thick and thin, while also respecting one another.
COYBIG
- r/coybig Mod Team
TLDR; The mods support Palestine and our players. A match thread will be posted for all UEFA Nations league games. There will be temporary measures in place to protect our sub during this international break.

General Discussion Thread Could Ireland have gone further in USA 94?
I just seen a post from another subreddit of Ronal Koeman escaping a red card for DOGSO back in 93. Had Koeman seen Red England would have qualified instead.
Now I know it's very hypothetical but would Ireland have has a better chance of beating England in Orlando than the Netherlands? Charlton's team were on the decline but it was hardly a vintage England team. They also would have struggled with the heat like us.
Beating England in a World Cup knockout game could have been our greatest result.

Women's National Team The Republic of Ireland will play Poland in the World Cup play off final*
*unless Kazakhstan overturn an 8 goal lead in Cork.
Two legs to be played in November and December.
SECOND LEG WILL BE IN IRELAND.
P.S. bit of a shame there's no flair for Women's WCQ.

Irish Player Update Funny one for Moylan today. Had a brace and received a penalty. Despite Moylan taking the first one, Chris Willock refused to let him take it and then missed. Both taken off just a few minutes later

Irish Player Update Luke McNally returns to the Bristol City starting line up after 20 months out of action. Really tidy defender who can hopefully get back to his pre injury level.

Women's National Team Ireland lineup vs Kazakhstan in the world cup play off. Kyra Carusa has already put us a goal ahead. Win this tie and we face the winner of Poland vs Belgium for a place in the world cup in 2027

Ireland played the LONG game and won... can't believe it's been that long, pun intended.
