Actual question

What does additional letters mean? Like, what's the difference between a 32D and a 32DD?

I know a letter means an inch from the band size (with each letting being 1 more inch) but idk what multiple letters means

Edit: I hate non-standardized systems

DD is the same as E, 5 in from the band some systems use double letters for some reason

I don't get it

So like, DD is equal to E, so E in that system would be equal to F? Then EE would be G?

Why do womens clothing sizes have to be so annoying and needlessly complicated?

Because clothing companies hate everybody and want us all miserable

The only reason mens sizes are standardized is because of war to my knowledge.

And as a straight dude, that's slowly slipping away. I bought two different brands of jeans, with the same measurements and should have both been straight cut, and one fit and the other didn't, by several inches around the waist.

The manager at a Levi store told me to take multiple pair of the same size into the fitting room because they'd each be different.

That's because mass manufactured clothing is cut in stacks. There will be a variance between the piece on top and piece on the bottom of there is any warping to the blade.

Inches and centimeters have different lengths depending on the factory pants come from. So you aren't even safe getting the same brand.
