So like does your product have to be shit to become "global" in the US? Like I know I can get good candy and good food at ethnic stores, bodegas, regional chains or even specific statewide stores - but why is it that all the US food products that "make it big" enough to export all taste like unfettered ass?

Logistics. Best example of it is McDonalds. McDonald’s sucks, but it tastes exactly the same basically everywhere. Being able to pump out cheap slop efficiently allows you to expand way faster than quality does.

Thing is... Not in Europe? I mean, European McDonald's is pretty solid, meat tastes fine since it has to be locally sourced, same with taters. But then I tried American McDonald's and uh, yikes

I guess it's the same across the US for the sake of logistics but then these brands make better products for European markets due to EU nutritional demands, legislation, etc. and their EU franchises produce higher quality stuff - so they could totally sell the same high quality products in the US and still make a profit... But why don't they?

Is it really worth cutting every little corner and serve the absolute bare minimum of acceptability?

I have eaten McDonald's all over the world and it tastes the same bud. Barring different menu items.
