WPL: New Comics Discussion for 10/14/2026- Pull of the Week: Doom Patrol #2 [Discussion]

The [Weekly Pull List results]() for this Wednesday are in, and this week's top book is DC's Doom Patrol #2.

This thread is open to Pull List posters and all members of the /r/comicbooks community to share your thoughts on the latest issue of DC's Doom Patrol or any new books shipping this week.

The primary intention of this thread is to promote discussion of new books. It also serves as a way to consolidate discussion to a single thread and talk about what books are popular here on /r/comicbooks. That does not mean other threads aren't welcome, this is just a place to start that's easy to find each week.

The thread is populated with comments meant to direct the discussion of each book. Based on community preference we populate the thread with titles appearing on Ten Percent or more of submitted pull lists. If a title you want to talk about is not listed, simply add a comment with the title and issue number first and comment below. There is also a comment dedicated to the discussion of WPL Results linked above.

Spoilers will follow, but there's no harm in tagging them as such. Each title in the Top Ten Percent listed below is linked directly to its corresponding comment for ease of navigation and to avoid seeing details from other books. The post has also been placed in "contest mode" to help readers avoid spoilers while browsing.

Everything about Mekt is triggering my spidey senses. I don't think he is evil and he could be genuine but I get the sense he's being manipulated. Is that Persuader Dawnstar?

Imra's meeting with the Emerald Empress was cool. There's the weird Sherman design that I love. I will say Sherman's work here is great but looks a bit rushed. You can tell they pretty much went into Legion after Batman: Dark Patterns with no breaks in between.

I think Williamson is doing a great job at balancing multiple characters and it helps that he seems to have a plot that's allowing them all to naturally converge on each other rather than figuring out six different ways to bring them all together.

So far Imra remains the most intriguing although Tenzil and Brainiac's dynamic is growing on me. Lightning Lad just seems to be a starry eyed boy so far and I hope it doesn't lead him into trouble.

I like that we get to see how the Legion came to be. This includes Brainiac 5 and Matter-Eater Lass surviving on Earth, Mekt telling his siblings that he was trained and mentored by “Superman” (who’s actually Hank Henshaw) before he decided to train and mentor Garth, Rokk working in the mines and getting a job offer from Grimbor, Irma meeting the Emerald Empress, and Ayla joining the Persuaders. Overall, this comic is excellent.
