Meme /Funny My Proposal for the 24 Team Playoff

Post image
298 Upvotes

Quick Facts:

- Would only take 26 weeks (three byes in case someone makes a run)

- Some lucky fan base gets to secure sports' first duovigintuple bye (Thanks Google)

- TONS of extra practice weeks up for grabs

- Won't cost us conference title games, because honestly might as well at this point

Open to **CONSTRUCTIVE** criticism of this objectively incredible idea.

Debate Tom Fornelli the voice of reason

Post image

Tom Fornelli is one of the best CFB national personalities because he tells it like it is, with no BS.
One thing I will say is that if you think rivalries like The Game or Red River won't matter because of a format change, you clearly don't understand the sport.

Edit: for the record, I am pretty indifferent about expansion.

Debate Out of all the corruption and shortsited decisions in CFB... How is this the thing people are freaking out over?

Post image

Did I need this? No. Is it necessary? Absolutely not. Do I think this is what will kill College football? Hell no.
Seeding will be important; rivalries still matter; a lot of the counterarguments, frankly, come from fear. For the handful of teams whose playoff spot is secured earlier than it would, many more teams have life and something to prove later in the season. Whoever deserves to win it all will prove it on the field.
I just personally believe that between transfer portal tampering, NIL deregulation, and shitty conference realignment, THIS is what people think will kill college football? Also, FCS has provided proof of concept. Also, if you don't want to watch these teams duke it out in the playoffs, there's less reason to watch teams in a bowl game with opt-outs.

Statement Best part of 24 team playoff nobody is talking about

Instead of arguing about whether Notre Dame should get in over a Miami team they lost to, we'll be at the committee's throats for granting a 7-5 Big 10 team the honor of losing to Georgia by 60 instead of a 10-2 Sun Belt team.

Rant Forget the 24 team playoff. Let's let EVERYBODY in.

Let's let EVERYBODY in. Cut D1 to 128 teams. Regular season is 3 games, which detetmines seeding. Then it's just win or go home for 2 months. PLUS we get rid of a lot of CTE risk.Who says no?

Might be too high on Temple & UAB and could see AF over Hawaii too, but I think this is more or less what the AAC & PAC should be.

AAC rn has too many teams and PAC has too few.

Debate Just get rid of conferences atp

A 24 team playoff would eliminate conference championships, and guarantee that the same schools will always be in the playoffs. Why you even have conferences at this point? Since suddenly, being second, third, or fourth in a conference still lets you into the playoffs, what is the point of having said conference? It's clear it's not about regionality anymore, and the mediocre conferences only have one or two schools each that are considered equal to the P2. Just dissolve conferences all together and let teams schedule whatever FBS school they want. And if most schools are no longer are able to support a FBS football team without the conference money, they probably weren't gonna have much to play for anyways. Bowl games are dead. There's only 40 or so teams who will ever make the playoffs again. Without conference titles meaning anything anymore, you've just taken away the the final attainable big goal for the bottom half of the country. Dissolving the conferences in football would allow everyone to schedule with more freedom and let non-con rivalries flourish again.
