For Anyone Who Went To Polar Ice House Cary as a Kid
Okay I just needed to ask the internet because I’m confident I didn’t hallucinate this memory, but I can’t find any proof this thing existed.
I went to the Polar Ice House Cary summer camp quite a bit in the late 2000s/early 2010s, so this would be around that time frame.
I remember they would occasionally bring us outside behind the building, where there was a big concrete slab for what I believe was the loading area. There was a pile of “snow” there often that originated from the ice rink and would melt quickly in the summer heat.
During that time, we would play with various toys outside, and I distinctly remember that one of them was basically a mech suit. I never got inside it myself, and can’t remember if it’s because I was too scared or too young, but a kid could get inside it and control parts of it. I don’t believe it could “walk”, but I distinctly remember it shooting bouncy balls from its arms that a kid could aim.
Now, as an adult, I can’t find any evidence a mech suit for children like this ever existed, but I’m near certain the memory isn’t false. Why was this random mech suit just, like, there at the ice house kids camp occasionally and I’ve never seen or heard of it anywhere else?
I would appreciate any help if anyone knows something about this. Thank you for reading and have a good day.
