Dev/Admin Responded Firefox "Following" Tab shows Trending Topics from unfollowed subs

Recently Reddit introduced "For You" and "Following" Tabs.

While the rules for "For You" are unclear to me - the "Following" tab might, should, Could mean that only posts from Subreddits I am following are shown.

As the helper below states:

The Following feed shows only content from communities and users you follow, without personalized recommendations.

At the time of creating this post this is false.

About 1 in ten topics in the "Following" section are personalized posts from unfollowed subreddits.

Please Do follow your own rules and keep recommendations out of the following tab.

That shouldn't be happening - can you share a screenshot of what your feed looks like?

Is it coming from a specific subreddit?

I should have taken a screenshot :( - one topic was something trending on /r/Finances I believe.

Right now I cannot reproduce it - somehow the selector "For You" / "Following" on the top is gone for me now (reloaded with cache cleared).

Next Time I will take a screenshot / copy the URL of the topics on question.

Found one: https://www.reddit.com/r/Nachrichten/comments/1x5f8fe/mcdonalds_streicht_burgerklassiker_nach_37_jahren/ - I did not join /r/Nachrichten/ screensho You can see the "Join" on the top right indicating that this article is from sub I did not subscribe to.

-- Now For You / Following is back on the top.

If you don't follow enough subreddits, it may show that. How many have you joined

This new twist is mentioned in the pinned weekly recap post in r/help
