Should we allow GIFs in the comments?
Someone brought this up in a post. This rule predates the current mod team. We discussed it, and thought, why not let the people decide? What could go wrong?

Discussion Queen of the Nine Nine

I was at the dentist today and, thankfully, was in the room that has a TV on the ceiling, so as usual, I put on B99 because I have seen the whole show enough times that if I need to tell my dentist something, I won't be lost once my focus is back on the show.
Today, I chose Halloween III because it is my favourite heist (though I also love HalloVeen for the hijacked heist). One thing I hadn't really realized before is that, by this point, Jake and Holt start planning heists at least a year in advance, and they all have team members. Yet, with only a few hours to pull things together after being excluded, Amy outsmarts them all.
All hail the Queen of the Nine-Nine.
Bonus: this is the first time I registered that Jake starts to propose to her in this episode (until she stops him since it wasn't serious), and then proposes for real two years later.

SPOILER Gina after maternity leave
Maybe it’s just me, but did anyone else feel like Gina was different after she came back from maternity leave?
I can’t quite put my finger on it, but something about her overall presence seemed a little off to me for most of the time she remained on the show.
Not in every episode, of course, but I noticed it in many of her later appearances.
Her last episode as a regular was an exception, though. She seemed much more like her usual self, very Gina.

Discussion What is your favorite single camera shot of the series, if you have one?
Mine is Pimento’s reaction when he sees the big ol bag of coke Holt gets out of evidence for Rosa and Jake to ingratiate themselves to Hawkins and her crew. It gets my cackling every single time. I’ll link the full scene in the comments because it’s one of my favorites.

Humour What’s the most perfectly deadpan Captain Holt line? I’ll go first:

Humour Since marvel and mcu is canon in b99, I like to believe this is just Pimento actually asking this question.

Discussion i don’t understand Gina hate
Gina is not a GREAT person. Her sexual harassment of Terry is not funny or cute, it’s disgusting. Buttttt she’s far from the WORST person in the show.
I think that a lot of the hateful attitudes towards Gina are motivated by misogyny. I mean if u think about it she’s lowk a good character; she’s funny-ish and she keeps the plot moving along. Yet, I keep seeing Gina hate amplified on this subreddit solely because people find her annoying. Women, even TV show character women, don’t just exist to fit inside a narrow bubble of the humor and attitude and appeal u think they should have, and Gina really does step outside of a bubble. And her “annoying habits” are extremely similar to Jakes. People just don’t find them funny because she’s not a man. 🫢
And her offenses are considerably less than many other characters on the show. Like Jake, who treats real meaningful cases like silly jokes. He’s in the position of power, why are we not more annoyed by his behavior!?!? The other detectives on the show also commit considerable offenses that are seriously concerning, like even Rosa (and I love Rosa) threatens to torture subjects. And Hitchcock! He’s genuinely alluded to be a sexual predator multiple times throughout the show and repeatedly makes sexual references to the other female characters. “Ugh gross Hitchcock” is a common line from the show because he’s a pervert. I just think it’s WILD for a girl u find not funny to be ur most hated character when there’s a pervert and multiple instances of rule-bending cops on the show.
This is just my hot take! I would like to hear what everyone thinks about the Gina hate, and if there’s a deeper reason to it other than just being annoying. I’m not trying to criticize anyone’s perspectives, just provide a different outlook! Thx!!!

Discussion Including the supporting characters, who is the most irritating character in the show?
For me it will always be Gina, I didn't like the character from the first episode, and was really happy when she finally left the show. Nothing against the actress, but that character was just so annoying in almost every scene.

Other Just Finished The Whole Show... Again
I just finished rewatching the entire show for the 3rd time and it just keeps getting better. I make sure to give myself a year or two between rewatches so that I come back fresh. I enjoy the heck out of this show and the finale always gets me in my feels.
Who's your favorite character? Mine is Holt.

Discussion Watching on repeat
I'm curious if anyone else also watches the show on repeat? I must've watched it over and over like 20+ times now, there's no other show that I do that, literally just finished the last season, pressed return and went back to 1x1, somehow its still fun and enjoyable to watch all the episodes over and over again.

Discussion A disturbing thought about Boyles.
Charles may be the only Boyle we get a good look at but because of his escapades with Gina, we see that he is very comfortable around the idea and discussion of incest. That made me think.
Boyles have many very unique physical attributes that Charles mentions over the course of the show. For these to remain only within the Boyle clan, they must be recessive genes; less likely to be passed on to a child of a parent from outside of the clan. Being that these traits persist up to the modern age, it suggests that there may have been, and may still be, incest between Boyles.
This is a documented phenomenon amongst rural communities in the United States of America, even to the present day. I’m sure I can’t be the first to notice this but it was too weird not to mention.
Also, I'm compiling a list of Boyles best line deliveries. I might make a supercut (anyone is welcome to before me). These are what I have so far:
“Oh my god” upon hearing that he will be badly hurt if he gets out of his chair
“Man, girls are so scary” the slump
“Whatever you say” insinuating voice in unsolvable
“He he he, I’m so glad I didn’t make that promise” s2e18
“FORCE feed em” s3e10
“Make urines in de toilet”
“I love tug boats”
“The lady Greyson”
“...I’d expect this kind of behaviour from a spineless amoeba like Charles…”
“I’m not spineless” s2e21
“Dammit, Charles, how’d you get your voice so high?”
“I can take it higher!” s2e6
“I’m not backing down this time. I’m backing up!” s2e6
“Interesting” at jakes take on a key s2e8
“Am I just a piece of meat to you?”
“The plaque… goes… back”
