Hi everyone! My name is Paris Pick, and I’m a Canadian indie-pop artist coming to the UK this February with my band, Paris Pick & The Pricks for our first-ever UK tour!
We’re looking for anyone who might be able to offer us a place to stay for a night while we’re in Brighton. There are four of us in total, but two of us are a couple and can share a bed, so we’d only need three sleeping spots. Be it a spare room, couch, or foamies on the floor we are easy going.
We’re a respectful, quiet bunch and would be incredibly grateful for any help from the local community. As a thank-you, anyone who hosts us would get a free ticket to our show!
I’m also a graphic designer, so if you’re a local artist or musician, I’d be happy to offer a gig poster design in exchange. I’m also happy to help connect local bands with gig opportunities in Canada where I can. I totally understand that hosting a touring band is a big ask, but if anyone has a spare room, a sofa, or knows someone who might be able to help, please feel free to message me.
Thanks so much Brighton,
We’re really looking forward to visiting your city and meeting some of the local music community!

Hello! I’ve been in Brighton for a few years now but most of my friends have moved away/are busy with their families etc. I love a charity shop mooch, going for coffee, crafts and walks with my dogs. She’s a rescue so has to come everywhere with me but if anyone fancies a walk with us let me know and I’ll drop you a message ☺️

I do like going to gigs and shows on the weekend but I also want to see some more free form or experimental stuff. I've been wanting to check out some artists that are just trying stuff out, maybe don't have a full band together, just want to play a few covers, that sort of thing...
But most of my favourite open mic events are mid week and my current job prevents me from being able to go see them! (Shout out to Beluga promotions I miss strum & drum)
Can anyone recommend any open mics or other more free form creative events that are on a Friday? Saturday and Sunday can be good too! Also I'm open to anything else artistic and creative it doesn't exclusively have to be musicians, although that is my primary interest! Also feel free to shout out anything that you're working on too, if I have the time I'll come check it out!

Hi there, I'm a first year Uni student who just moved to Brighton and I've been looking everywhere for the past 2 weeks for jobs.
I am hard working, reliable, resilient and I'm happy to work long evening shifts. I have 2 years of experience as a bartender with 3 years of hospitality experience overall. Ideally I'm looking for work on a bar but I am open to anything.
If anyone has any advice or know anyone that's hiring I would really appreciate the help.

Does anyone know why Brighton hasn’t had a Christmas market for the past couple of years, and why there doesn’t seem to be one planned for this year either?

Hello everyone,
As the title suggests I am in need of ‘cheap’ but good quality dentist recommendations in and around Brighton. The quotations marks are around the word cheap as I know all dental work is expensive but look for somewhere that will do good quality work at an affordable price if possible. I’ve already come to terms that I will most likely have to go private, I think I need about 4 ish fillings so would be great to get some recommendations!
Thanks in advance :)

I don't want to detract from the other person's Bratwurst truck post cus that truck is also banging but this is big news.
Its opposite Belgian Chips next to Jempsons down the Churchill square steps.
I went in tantalised by homemade zatar and chatted about their new shop. I asked about where they get houmous from and the guy said they make it themselves. I said oh good cus till now the only real houmous is far away at Kambis.
Then the dude who was chilling at the end was like "that's me! I just sold it and moved here a month ago".
The fresh falafel wrap for £5.95 is fine business and their oven pastries are gonna slap.

Bit of an unsettling one, but has anyone else around Montpelier or Seven Dials noticed cooked meat (possibly chicken) being left out in front gardens overnight or in the early hours?
This has been happening repeatedly where we are. The meat gets cleared away during the day, but then more appears again overnight. We have no idea who is leaving it or why.
We’ve also noticed that foxes and cats we used to see around the area don’t seem to be about anymore. Obviously, we don’t know if there’s any connection, but the repeated nature of this is starting to worry us.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar or noticed anything unusual? Just trying to work out whether this is happening elsewhere in the neighbourhood too.

I walk past this at least once a week, and whatever it is, it seems to be growing. No shade at all, this isn't nimby-ism, I'm just curious and tbh, kind of impressed.

Just a few fellers that were around Queens Park one Sunday afternoon. We saw many more but some of them came out too blurry. My lens is very good but it doesn't have a stabiliser.

I've created a map of street art in Brighton. It's still a work in progress, there are a few notable works that are missing (eg, Rick and Morty on Upper Lewes Road etc), and maybe something better already exists, but I thought some of you might appreciate it.
All photos are my own, but please let me know:
I'll be making a few improvements (eg, using better icons etc - at the moment the houses show buildings (more likely to last) and running icons when the art is on a hoarding (more likely to vanish)), colour coding bits etc.
But anyway, I just thought I'd share anyway so hope you enjoy/find useful.
