Something that just struck me as I'm starting a rewatch of BB, is how different the show, and actually the whole universe, would be if filmed today. Just finished S2 e1. When Walt got into Jessies car in the driveway and subsequently went missing, today would have been caught on a doorbell cam, not to mention phone locations, air tags etc. Guess it's much harder to be a criminal these days! Rewatching these shows also makes me long for a flip phone

When Gus Fring was killed in season 4, all of Mike's nine guys, including Mr. Chow and Chris Mara had their money confiscated by the DEA in season 5. I am not sure if all of Mike's nine guys were arrested after Gus was killed, but what I do know is if they want a lighter sentence and/or more free life, they have to rat Gus' operation, which was ruled by Walt.

Obviously, they did not rat Walt out because of Mike's hazard pay. But the moment Gus was killed, why didn't any of Mike's nine guys hunt Walter White down like Mike attempted to?

And honestly, if I were one of Mike's nine guys, I would immediately rat Walt out for a lighter sentence and keep my family safe. You cannot trust Walt to be a boss. Ever

Met him at a con in 2025. Coolest dudes ever. Will definitely be missed 😔. Couldn’t believe the news. I thought it was a hoax 😔

Any death is tragic. But parents mourning their children is the worst of the worst.

Even if it was just a fictional family, two actors paying tributes to their on-screen son....is heartbreaking.

In an ideal world, we should have seen RJ Mitte celebrating Bryan's life, 20+ years from now.

How much of a support he was, How much did he learn working with Bryan....

But that's not going to happen. Because we don't live in an ideal world.

Rest in Peace, RJ Mitte. Hope you find the peace you couldn't find among the living.

Seriously I imagine Saul didn't pay the guy cheap and Mike was good at it. Really good at it. Even if he never became Saul's he could have advertised himself as a private investigator and made enough to support his family.

But like walt, Mike felt like he needed the life. He's the biggest hypocrite in the series acting like he's one of the "good ones" or honorable when he's no different from walt, gus etc. Like nacho's dad in better call saul said "you gangsters are all the same."

I just binged-watched the entire series, all 62 episodes aggregating 49 hours, in ten days.

What an impressive work.

I rarely watch television. I have never seen a series. So I may not be the best judge.

But wow. The last season delivered when everything came to a head and the secrets were uncovered.

For me it was a story of secrets, lies, and betrayal that lead to the destruction of a family. Meth is just the vehicle that drives it.

Aaron Paul had quite an emotionally taxing job. But Anna Gunn had the most difficult acting job and the most complex character. She had to display love, loyalty, self preservation, fear, and concern for her children, to name just a few.

So Anna and Dean Norris I was most impressed with. Hank started out as a cartoonish cop character but man was I rooting for him as the seasons progressed. His intelligence and determination shined. When he slapped the cuffs on Walter was just so poignant.

I feel like the cast should have all held hands and took a bow like a broadway play.

RIP RJ Mitte. So sad.

In a statement to The New York Times, Vince said he’d communicated as recently as September about a Breaking Bad-related business idea of RJ’s. Vince’s full quotes below:

“We couldn’t have picked a better young man to play that role. More importantly, RJ was a good person. He was fun and kind and he had a big heart.

He had an ever-present, crooked grin. In my mind’s eye, I never picture him without it. I always picture him as happy. I’ll continue doing that.

Our crew is devastated. We all watched RJ grow up together, and we were proud of him.

The world has never made much sense to me. It makes even less sense now.”

Never noticed that before. The level of chill those people on the sidewalk (top right) are experiencing after that major event is worth noting.

I intentionally excluded the rest of the scene in case anyone has not seen this yet (season 3, Episode 7. The "too easy" scene). But if you know, you know.

I had the once in a lifetime pleasure of meeting RJ Mitte on 6/1/23 at my cousin's house in Olmito, TX.

He'd stopped by to drop off his lovely pup with my other two cousins, who were friends with him and would dog sit and house sit on occasion for him while he traveled.

RJ was so humble and down to earth, and seemed to genuinely not mind my starstruck self and equally starstruck dad asking for a quick picture. It was so surreal.

The Mittes have done extraordinary things for Historic Downtown Brownsville. Their philanthropy towards keeping the beauty of the area is something that has been done quietly, but has not gone unnoticed. My heart hurts for RJ's parents, his sister, his fiancee, and everyone whose lives he's touched.

Thank you, RJ, for caring about Brownsville enough to stay, and for taking a quick second to shake my hand and take a picture with me while running a personal errand. The world has undoubtedly lost another beacon of light, but I hope you're resting well.

This last month I chose to rewatch Breaking Bad for the 10th time or so. I literally watched the series finale on Monday night. I didn't hear the awful news until yesterday and it just really spooked as well as saddened me. RJ was on my television screen every day for the last 3 weeks and then this tragedy happens. From what I've gathered, he was in a bad place mentally. I feel terrible for his friends, adopted family and cast members. For someone who has lost a close loved one to self deletion, it's making me want to spread more awareness about depression and urge people to reach out to anyone you can if you're going through such things. It's so hard to admit when you need help, and that goes for anyone. I've certainly had my own struggles with depression, and the struggle is all too real. This happening the way it did feels surreal. Tears in my eyes while writing this. RJ seemed like a wonderful person and I'm sure all the work and spreading awareness for Cerebral Palsy he's done made an impact. I just had to write this. Rest in peace young man. Walter Jr. Flynn. RJ Mitte, you will always be remembered.

I watched the episode where they pull the train heist and wondered if there were any parallels between the show and Richard III, which I don't remember much about, due to the "bottled spider." The writers do seem like they'd be up for a nod to literature.

Say what you will about TMZ, but they are nearly always right when reporting inside info like this and are well connected. If true, I feel even worse for the poor guy now. Not judging anyone here because we don't know the full story, but Luis Moncada referenced some personal issues RJ was going through that were crushing him emotionally - wonder if this was it.

Imagine how the story would've turned out if in this moment Jesse decided to full on destroy Hanks life and Walt would have had to stop him throughout the entire series.

Jesse could easily threaten Walt of telling everyone about him being Heisenberg. Saul would be in a big mess of which of the two he should protect more if it gets too serious. Maybe Walt threats Saul to stay on his side while Jesse does the same.

I think it could've made the show even more interesting than it already is.

(Don't get me wrong I LOVE Breaking Bad and wouldn't really change anything but I just had this scenario in mind and found it interesting)

I laughed so many times throughout the series. I really cannot take any of the character seriously. there are so many ridiculous scenes that I find hilarious. The scene when Gus was killed is absolutely hilarious, he just walked out with half his face and body gone and yet he could still adjust his tie. LMAO. What other scenes do you find hilarious?

As messed up as their relationship is do you guys think Jesse had any kind of love for Walt after the finale? I feel genuinely that they weren’t in the best place with each other but also that they didn’t just downright hate each other.

Every comment section on here about Flynn before RJ Mitte’s suicide was full of comments making fun of his stutter. Those people are suddenly very silent.

Over the last few days, I’ve learned that people have left similar comments on RJ’s irl videos all the time, which is even more disturbing, leaving them in a place he’s almost certainly looking. Which isn’t that different from here, the largest Breaking Bad forum on the internet. If you’ve left any of these comments, I hope you now understand the impact of your ableism, and if you had the power to remove those comments (I’ve reported them plenty in the past, and nothing was done about it), I hope you now understand that this kind of (in)action has consequences.

So if you’re suddenly very silent because you feel guilty, good. You should.

Here are my rankings and quick explanation. Let me know if I miss anyone or if you’d switch the order.

(1) Jesse. Probably doesn’t need an explanation. Horrible relationship with his parents / family. Only family he was close with died of cancer. GF1 OD’d and died (partially due to his “closest friend”). Then watched GF 1’s dad cause a plane crash due to grief that killed hundreds. Watched GF2 die, GF2s brother got killed. GF2s kid - that he loved - got poisoned (also by his closest friend). His mentor - Mike - gets murdered (also by his closest friend). Put into slavery. Forced to kill an “innocent” man (Gale). I mean the list goes on Jesus.

(2) Brock. Gets poisoned and his only parent, his mom, gets murdered. As a child. Whole life is ruined by 8 yrs old.

(3) Skylar. Entire family falls apart in the worst way imaginable. Husband becomes a terrifying psychopath. Is known nationwide as the wife of a drug lord, reputation absolutely ruined. Probably can never get a job again. Son basically hates her for multiple years, and will never trust her again. Infant baby probably scarred for life. Is left living in a shitty apartment with no friends or family that trust her. Partially responsible for the death of her brother-in-law.

(4) Hank. Gets PTSD multiple times. Eventually gets paralyzed. Later realizes his brother-in-law has been lying to him for years and is THE horrific criminal responsible for the downfall of everything. Realizes his entire reputation he spent decades building is ruined for not knowing this. Then in an attempt to save his reputation and capture Walt, watches his partner and best friend die, and has a solid 10 minutes knowing he’s also gonna die, leave Marie by herself, and probably thinks Walt will get away with it.

(5) Flynn: Born with a bad case of cerebral palsy. Dad gets terminal cancer. Mom sucks. Father turns out to be a psychopathic murderous criminal, mother lied to him for years and still sucks. His uncle is murdered. Entire family falls apart. Forever known as Heisenbergs child. Loses childhood home. No longer has fun breakfasts with his parents.

HMs:

Donald Margolis. Finds his only child dead. In his grief, causes a plane crash that kills hundreds. Life is absolutely ruined. Hates himself. Goes to prison for an undetermined amount of time

Marie. Realizes her sister and brother in law have been lying to her for years, and are responsible for her husband getting paralyzed. And later her husband dying. Left completely alone with no children and no family she can trust.

Mike: Spends his whole life getting money to give to his family. Loses all of that money, has to abandon his family without saying why, and eventually gets murdered and has enough time to think about how everything got fucked.

Gus: His partner is brutally murdered in front of him. Spends his entire life getting revenge on the person who killed his partner, only for that person to kill him and end his entire empire.

Andrea: Younger brother gets killed. Child gets poisoned. She gets eventually murdered.

September 22, 2018 – Santa Rosa Toy Con, California
I was walking with RJ back to his autograph booth after his panel when I started telling him about visiting some of the Breaking Bad filming locations. One of the highlights was the Walter White house. I mentioned how cool it was that there’s an RV-themed tour bus that takes fans to all the main spots used in the show. He knew about it and thought it was pretty neat.
He asked if I’d actually taken the tour. I told him no—we decided to save the money and just explore some of the locations on our own. I went on to describe my visit to the Walter White house. After checking the place out and taking selfies in front of it, I called out to a woman I believed was the homeowner and told her how lucky she was to live in such a famous house. She replied that she hated all the attention the house was getting. I just smiled and told her it was still great and to have a nice day. RJ snickered and agreed, saying, “Yup, that’s right!”
I commented that anyone would be happy to own a famous home like that. RJ explained that a Breaking Bad fan had once broken into her backyard, which helped explain why she wasn’t thrilled about the attention.
Somewhere in the middle of our conversation he noticed my shirt, complimented it, and pointed it out to his agent.
When we reached his autograph booth, I had him personalize a Twisters restaurant paper menu for me. I asked if it was the first time he’d signed something like that, and he said it was. I also took a selfie with him and bought a Breaking Bad car air freshener before leaving.
As I was about to go, he asked what I was doing next. I told him I was heading to the costume contest. He asked me to do him a favor: after the contest, come back and let him know whether I’d won or not. I didn’t win, but I still had a good time competing. I couldn’t make it back to his booth afterward because my mom was getting worried about where I was. She suggested I just tweet him the results instead. I’m pretty sure he saw the tweet. So RIP RJ Mitte 🙏🏻, you’re in a better place.

I think Jesse is one of the best-written characters in Breaking Bad, but I also think fans sometimes give him too much credit when it comes to morality.

Rest easy RJ. I met him in LAX. I saw him around 100 feet away and went “is that RJ Mitte?”. I sprinted over to him and he was so genuine and nice. Hope he is at peace
