Devastated
I had the once in a lifetime pleasure of meeting RJ Mitte on 6/1/23 at my cousin's house in Olmito, TX.
He'd stopped by to drop off his lovely pup with my other two cousins, who were friends with him and would dog sit and house sit on occasion for him while he traveled.
RJ was so humble and down to earth, and seemed to genuinely not mind my starstruck self and equally starstruck dad asking for a quick picture. It was so surreal.
The Mittes have done extraordinary things for Historic Downtown Brownsville. Their philanthropy towards keeping the beauty of the area is something that has been done quietly, but has not gone unnoticed. My heart hurts for RJ's parents, his sister, his fiancee, and everyone whose lives he's touched.
Thank you, RJ, for caring about Brownsville enough to stay, and for taking a quick second to shake my hand and take a picture with me while running a personal errand. The world has undoubtedly lost another beacon of light, but I hope you're resting well.

Boy was this man loved. I haven’t felt this sad about a celebrity death since Robin. This feels worse, I think.

The death of Robin Williams broke my heart completely. I feel the same for R.J. I can't imagine how his family feels. I wish for one moment (just one moment) he could have felt the love his family, fans and Bryan Cranston had for him. Hopefully, he is at peace.
Don't know if it's true but the gossip is his fiance gave him an ultimatum .. her or his family. He should have drop kicked her out of his life, if true.
Young, kind, handsome, talented, loved .. surely, someone wanting only love and connection could have been found. We will never know.

I met him at the ren faire in Todd Mission Texas on my birthday in 2024. He was multiple bottles of mead deep and was the nicest and happiest drunk you could imagine lol. He took the time to talk to me and my friend and wished me a happy birthday and I could tell he was very genuine about it. When I asked for a picture he almost seemed more enthusiastic than me! You can check my profile to see the picture I posted with him. His smile looks so pure and genuine. I hope his soul can find the peace and rest he was seeking.

My cousin is a nephew of one of the main cast members on Breaking Bad. He had met RJ at an event and my cousin told me he was one of the nicest people hes ever met. RJ gave my cousin his phone number to go get beers while RJ was in town and they did just that.
His passing is tragic.. and im sorry for your loss as well. He will be very missed

Great post. I wish I could give this more likes.
Having worked with and around many people of different levels of fame, it it EXTREMELY rare to find one that is down to earth and a genuine being. RJ definitely seemed like one of the good ones and if he only knew how much people loved and appreciated him for who he was and not because of what popular show he played on.

Thanks for sharing your story. It’s the closest thing to attending a memorial that we have. ❤️

May the noor to heaven gracefully open for him. I always wanted to meet the guy. Shame with recent tmz news. Real shame.

He really seemed like such a sweet, humble guy. It’s so sad to think of how much he was suffering behind the scenes. I hope he is at peace now.

Suicide runs in my family. It has nothing to do with love, unfortunately. I wish it did, it would be so simple.

What does this add that we didn’t already know? I am devastated about what happened as well, but this is the 10.000th post and it thanks him for taking a picture back then?

I really enjoy seeing personal tributes like this from regular people. I love hearing the stories because they show he has meant so much to people for all kinds of reasons. The personal touch warms my heart.

I know you think you're doing something, but you're just being a jerk.
If you don't have anything nice to say, just be quiet.

I wish he could have felt the love we all had for him.
