This movie often looked amazing, and I loved the way they integrated everyone's iconic moves with the real in camera choreography. It also had some really funny performances from a well-cast ensemble (Rhodes terrific, Dastmachian SUBLIME). Special recognition to Vidyut Jammwal and Orville Peck for fully embodying their characters, and Eric Andre successfully deployed as well.
My biggest issue was that every scene felt out of order. In the middle of one, I thought "this doesn't feel like the end, so based on what I've seen so far that means it is in fact the end" and I was correct. Reshoots must have played a part, right?
So many of the fights get skipped over, and for every perfect character introduction there is one that makes no impact. They really should have had everyone spend more time together and play off each other.
All said, I get why David hated it (what a letdown compared to the trailer) but it was still fun junk food to me. Its just a shame because it feels like with a few twists of fate they could have had something genuinely great instead of a bad movie that I liked.
