Hi everyone! I am a Spring 2027 transfer admit and wanted to hear about what people’s experiences are like when looking for roommates and housing, specifically off-campus housing around the area. I’m looking for any recommendations for off-campus living and any websites/suggestions to find affordable and safe options near campus?

Don’t know what the deal right now is, but no cal ID card scan is working for entrance to on campus buildings. This has been tested for MLK, Campbell Hall, and Birge Hall, so it’s safe to say it won’t work elsewhere. Some of the alternative scanners still work since they’re manually programmed, but the newer modern ones don’t.

Hello! as the title says, im trying to figure out summer studying abroad programs. I dont qualify for any financial aid besides the base direct unsubsidized loans i already took out for the school year, so id basically be paying for everything out of pocket. I was looking at worldstrides for South Korea (Stats major trying to break into biotech/public health industry) and UCEAP. From my research, interning through berkeley is crazy expensive, like 4 more bands than doing it through an external program liek worldstrides. But if anyone was in my shoes in terms of major, internship interest, and country interest, let me know any suggestions!! im open to suggestions about what program to do it through and also countries to do.

i'm planning to study abroad at nus this spring, but uceap isn't releasing program dates until november (and i think tickets are going to be much more expensive by then..) in general, how much earlier are uceap start dates compared to the actual schools' academic start dates? does anyone have past experience w/ study abroad at nus that they'd be able to share?

I really just wanted to rant on here bc I can not bring myself to cry about exams anymore because I'm so mentally tapped out. Ever since sophomore year, I have not passed a single exam with a B or higher. I'm currently a junior, and I am taking chem 3a and physics 8a together, and I just did both midterms last week. I feel so sick bc I know I did so horribly on them despite how much I studied, went to OH, and I even finally got diagnosed and medicated for ADHD (which was what ruined my life sophomore year; I had to get care or I was bound to drop out). And even though the scores are not out yet, I feel so much anxiety that I can't even do tasks bc of how anxious I am. This has been happening for so long, and I swore to myself that I would get all As from junior year onward (since I'm premed and want an upward trend in my grades). But I feel so useless and stupid, idk what to do anymore. I can't bring myself to cry; I can't even celebrate my birthday tomorrow bc of how stressed I am about failing. I'm just so mentally and emotionally checked out, like I'm done.

I’m a new international student at Cal on SHIP and honestly still pretty confused about how healthcare works here compared to back home.

Back home I could just call the clinic directly and get an appointment within days. Here do I need to get a referral from student health center first then find a dermatologist who takes SHIP and wait months for an appointment?

Looking for recommendations for a good dermatologist in Berkeley or SF (maybe UCSF?)

Would also really appreciate any tips from fellow students who’ve seen a dermatologist through SHIP.

I answered every questions in the exam. So I thought i will get around 90 and i ended up getting 64/100. I don't know what to do for my next midterms since everyone said it is the easiest one. I am so depressed right now.

Has anyone taken PHYSED32 specifically taught by Lon Rork and Steven Murray? I've been seeing a lot of mixed reviews where one professor is rated significantly higher than the other. I'm hoping this will be a straightforward class that won't take up too much of my time. Thanks

What were the avgs historically? The Shewchuk exams look 10x harder than the recent ones...

Classes are hella empty. The expectation that we keep chuggin along with the same weekly course-load while studying for exams that weigh just as much, if not more, on our grades as finals is insane.

EDIT: To clear things up: I understand the administrative logistics, state contact-hour mandates, and why an RRR week is hard to schedule. But student burnout is real. Prioritizing strict logistical logic over empathy is neither productive nor sustainable for our community. Mental health matters. Structural pressures and relentless workloads can severely worsen psychological well-being, and even with DSP accommodations, students shouldn't have to push themselves to a breaking point just to keep up with midterms. My point isn't that fixing the calendar is easy—it’s that the current culture of "just push through it" is broken.

Ethernet connected to my computer changed from downloading at 100+ MB/s to 11 MB/s randomly. Anyone else having this issue with the Aruba access points? Should I contact IT?
