PSA regarding damaged infratructure

I hate how this even has to be said, but it should be quite obvious:

Do NOT recommend to other Redditors to cut into or damage telecommunications infrastructure like splice boxes, pedestals or fiber connections because they're already damaged and nothing is "getting done".

I understand how frustrating it can be to not have a technician sent to repair damaged equipment within a reasonable time, however recommending sabotage is not only against our subreddit rules but you can also be charged criminally for mischief for doing so under the Criminal Code. Even as a joke, these comments should not be made in this subreddit - this seems to have become too commonplace and shouldn't be what occurs.

To be clear, even though we are a community-run subreddit not officially affiliated with Bell, we are still required to uphold both our subreddit rules and Reddit's Terms of Service. As such, this also includes any comments we believe to be against Reddit's Terms of Service and also report these occurrences to Reddit admins.

If you believe that nothing is getting done and that you're not making any progress with front-line representatives, the best routes are to:

  • Contact Bell's Management team through their Resolve a Concern page, using the "Email Us" form (if you're a Bell customer)
  • Contact the CCTS via their Online Complaint Form (if the above is not possible or does not make progress)
  • Contact your municipal authority (typically for your town/city)

For each of the above, you should always be stating clearly:

  • What the issue is (e.g. Pedestal with exposed cabling)
  • Where the issue is (e.g. exact intersection with street names, nearest civic address if available)
  • When was the issue originally discovered (specific date/time if possible)
  • Are there any dangers posed by this (e.g. is it at a pick-up or drop-off point for students, nearby gas lines)
  • Any steps you've taken in an attempt to get this resolved
    • Contact attempts
      • Date/Time
      • Method
      • Name of person spoken to
      • ID number (if available)
      • What was discussed
      • Any reference numbers you've been provided for each

Comments that advocate for the sabotage of telecommunications infrastructure will be removed, and repeat offenders removed from the subreddit. This includes comments of this nature intended as a joke.

Question I have free internet? I hope a backend dev reads this…

Ok this is gonna be a bit of a rabbit hole so bear with me…

I moved into my current residence back in July this year and decided to go with bell for internet since the upstairs landlord was with virgin. I have been a bell customer in the past and I still had access to myBell, when I called to get a service installed I asked if it was ok to use said myBell account and was told yes no problem.

Upon trying to connect this myBell to the new service I was met with some errors, clicking the link to connect would send me to the myBell app prompting a login… Then when I log in, I don’t see the service? Just my old one I cancelled a couple years ago… Ok so then I try doing it through the web… Now I get an error saying this service is already connected to a myBell account.

Clearly this account is now all sorts of screwed up, when I asked customer support I was told I would see the service on my app once I plugged in the modem. (It was very hard booking a tech without access to myBell, I’d have to message support each time I wanted a time update). Once the service was installed I once again checked myBell, since I haven’t even set up billing yet! Once again nothing, support says wait a week. Wait a week, nothing. Support says we’re down wait a day, wait a day, nothing. I’m getting a little frustrated at this point but eventually a support agent is able to get the problem escalated and someone manually adds the service to my myBell account, great! Set up billing and everything is all good. I do notice on the app it’s telling me to set up my new modem which is weird since it was already running. (This notification will never go away).

Everything seems to be working fine so I put it behind me… then a week later I get a phone call asking when I’d like to book a tech to install my modem??? When I tell them it’s already installed the agent just goes huh that’s weird and I hear nothing about it again. Fast forward a few months, and in September I get a letter in the mail for equipment return! My error here is I just chalk that up to my account being all screwed up and ignore it.

Fast forward 20 days or so and I’m checking myBell to make sure the bill got paid and I see… Service cancelled! Oh hell no, I call support and they say nothing they can do, time to return my equipment and re-setup another account. What?!?!? I then find out it got cancelled on September 8!!! Also, my internet is still working fine. And it still is to this day by the way. The support agent didn’t really seem to care, didn’t seem to want to escalate it, and just wanted me to hang up, return my equipment and be done with it. I told them hell no I’m just gonna keep using my internet that’s working fine, and it ended there.

I week after that I decide to phone customer service again, and it’s the same story, yeah yeah I know it’s cancelled but my internet is still working!!! Doesn’t that seem weird? I told them somebody will definitely want to hear about this and they said they’d start an investigation. It’s been two weeks and I haven’t heard anything back.

Which is why I’m posting here, people tell me I shouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth and just accept I have free 3gig internet, but it still just kind of bothers me. Support agents just don’t want to deal with it, if nobody here can help me I’m gonna call one more time and then just keep using this until it stops or I move out again.

Question Upgrading through App order cancelled

I upgraded from iphone 14 pro to 18 pro through the app yesterday and got a extremely good deal IMO. Too good to be true almost. But it went through and the app says order received “confirming and processing” and I got confirmation email as well. Is it possible for them to cancel my order / not honour it? If so, what rights do i have?

Question Does Bell allow in-store modem exchange or not?

• Upvotes

Had my modem die Wednesday night and called support first thing thursday morning for a replacement. Got told it would be delivered in 2-3 business days. Which sucks for me since I work from home.

But before I called I saw comments from people saying they were able to swap their dead modem in store. So I asked the rep on the phone about it and was told “they have never offered this service before” and I can only wait for it to be shipped through the post.

Except there’s comments from people saying they did the in-store exchange just THIS WEEK.

So I called again Thursday afternoon to try my luck with a different agent and was told the same thing..

So does Bell not allow in-store exchanges or what?

Mobility📱 Are we preordering, or attempting to buy in store?

I’m usually not one for release dates, but it just so happens I’m due for an upgrade on my 16 pro max with the device trade in, and the duo preorder starts tomorrow.

Will I have better luck with the preorder, or trying to find it in store when it’s out?

Rant Bell MTS mobility - Fraud

- I used to be an employee
- I had a cell phone in my name for a family member, even before Bell bought MTS (Manitoba telecom) in ~2019
- I quit and completed a transfer of ownership to the family member around 2020
- 6 months after that my family member called in about the cell phone and was told the cell is still under my name
- we once again followed the process and completed the transfer of ownership and was assured the cell phone was no longer in my name - I was irritated back then
- fast forward 5 years. That family member calls in about something and is told the cell phone is my name
- the “presidents office” rep is telling me they can complete the transfer, but only if they do a credit check on the family member… meanwhile this was all supposed to be done 5 years ago
- she gave me the option of cancelling or suspending the cell phone (since it’s still in my name) of the family member doesn’t want to do the credit check

This is 100% Bell MTS’s fault that there is a cell phone fraudulently under my name, but they refuse to switch it over unless a credit check is done… how does that make any sense. It’s not my family members fault - they probably did a credit check back then too. Ugh

Help My Bell modem has stopped working working!

It rained her last night. Power went out, but the wifi didn't come back on when the rest of the power did.i trued unplugging the cord, but that doesn't seem to work. When I plug in the modem, the lights around the yellow ports briefly light up, but they quickly go off. My home network isn't showing up as available networks on my phone or other devices, and if I listen closely, I can hear a silent sound coming from the modem. Is there anything I can do? Maybe use the buttons at the front? Thank you.

Rant TSN App is dogs$%t

Has anyone been able to get the TSN streaming app to work without a cable subscription?

I enrolled last November and to this day that apps do not work correctly on my Iphone 16 or Ipad 2025.

I contacted support a couple of times and they were supposed to escalate my issue to someone capable of solving the problem but I never did hear back.

I’m curious if this service is actually functional.

TV 📺 Fibe TV app jumped up in price?

I got a random price increase on the Fibe TV app, no pre-announcement or messages in the last few months regarding that price increase.

For me, it looks like it's $19.95 now before promos. This happen to anyone else?

TV 📺 NBA league pass no longer offered on Bell Fibe?

As the post reads.

I recently signed up for Bell Fibe (without the tv box) and everything works fine so far and no complaints. However I did notice, nba league channel for me on bell Fibe says that this no longer offered.

I went onto my bell account and tried to see if I can add nba league as well and there is no option for this. I can add nfl and other various sports packages.. just no nba league selection.

Is this something that bell has discontinued?

Also, yes.. I am subscribed to NBA TV Canada.

Mobility📱 Rogers cellphone bill

I have been with Rogers more than 15 years .

Have 3 cellphone lines with them and collectively paying $221/month.

On my Roger's app only offers and promotions are for higher prices and more perks, which we do not need.

Anytime I call , after wasting time 30 minutes or more with AI operator or even longer, they disconnect the call!

Is it normal? How do I lower my monthly fee!?

- I have devices and are paid off, no need to upgrade

-between 3 lines we hardly use 3GB of internet and we have more than 90GB - no need for additional service.

- my calls are less than 60 minutes per month on each line

Please advise!

Should I change provider!?

Mobility📱 Anyone ordered the iPhone 18 Pro 256GB in Burgundy from the Bell app? 📱

I placed my order yesterday, and it’s showing an estimated delivery time of 2–5 days.
If anyone has ordered the same model and colour, how long did it take for your phone to arrive? Did it actually arrive within 2–5 days?
Please share your experience. Thanks!

Help Bell fibe

Bell fibe tech or whoever- neighbourhood has fibe, but our townhomes don't. Someone from authentic Bell account, could you please do me who I need to get it to our townhomes? When they originally brought to neighbourhood, they said didn't have permission from our condo board. It's not true, you do have. Dm me and I will explain. I'll only respond to Bell employees. Too hard to find any person using Bell website to action this.

Question Fibe 3Gbps poor performance lately

I'm seeing intervals of high latency and random disconnects over the past month as reported by my Unifi UDM. In total, 28 instances of high latency, 10 'internet down' and 4 instances of multiple disconnects, two of which occurred today causing me problems with work-from-home.

In anyone's experience, if I reported these issues, would Bell do anything about it or will be a waste of time? This is a residential service in Brampton.

Help PPPoE issues with UDR

I was very happy to buy the UniFi Dream Router 7 and set it up with PPPoE, and I thought it was going to be pretty simple, although I can’t figure out why it’s not working.

I go into my Internet settings on the UDR, select the WAN 4 port, go into Manual, and enter my B1XXXX credentials and my MyBell password that I use for my account online (Bell.ca).

It’s supposed to be simple like that, no? Or am I dumb? It just disconnects, and the internet I had through DHCP becomes unavailable.

ChatGPT is no help, and neither are the forums. Am I missing a step?

I know there was a XXX.2 update that broke PPPoE and apparently got fixed with the XXX.3 release, although I can’t even get into the modem advanced settings to check the version because even the modem password (the SN shown on the screen) isn’t working.

At this point, I’m probably going to reset it and see what I can do.

In the meantime, has anyone else run into the same issues?

Question Security settings on Giga Hub modem?

Interesting problem. I have trouble accessing https://space.fast when I'm on my regular network ("This site can’t be reached" on Chrome, "Safari can't connect to the server" on Safari), but I have no problems when I connect to my guest network.

When I'm on the main network, space.fast resolves to 18.204.152.241.
When I'm on the guest network, it resolves to 192.0.78.25 (correctly).

I think this is some security setting and it just blocks the route to 18.204.152.241 (I also don't know where it gets that IP from). So, why does the regular network resolve it incorrectly, and how/where can I change this? Is there a whitelist setting somewhere in the Giga Hub configuration?

Question Standalone Watch

Hey there, I recently signed up with Bell against my better judgement because we got my son an Apple Watch. They said I had to be a customer to get the standalone watch plan. I want to switch back to my old carrier and I've seen before when I had an Apple Watch and port my iPhone number, my Watch keeps going.

If I tried that, could my son's account just stand by itself without needing me there as well? Can anyone pipe in with any experience?

Help Any suggestions on getting Bell Aliant to call you back about Business Internet?

Logged a ticket back in August to move the internet from one of our small offices to another in New Brunswick. I've called almost daily, escalated, tried the care centre, talked to a Sales Director, etc. No one will call me back or give any type of timeline for moving the service. Now we're in the new location without service.

Anybody have any suggestions on who I could contact? It's been a month and a half without any movement.

Question Bell 2027 graduate program

Has anyone heard back from Bell’s 2027 graduate program??
I applied to two different graduate programs (Data and Networks) in late September and received invitations to complete the digital interviews shortly after. Has anyone heard anything since then or received invitations for further interviews?
