Gone is the Polka Dot Man! Now comes the far more deadly and intoxicating Poison Ivy! And Batman's chances of losing could very well happen upon crossing her domain! And the worst part is that young Dick Grayson's birthday is tomorrow!

FAN CONTENT Introducing the Batman (Bruce Wayne) of Earth-ARV38! [Art by Me]

For years, the streets of the gloomy Gotham was safe from what seemed to be the deadliest criminals to ever live because Gotham has its foremost knight, the Batman. Other than the people that Batman trusted the most (including the Justice League) and also his own built family, no one knows the exact identity behind this masked vigilante. Who, or what, is the Batman?

As it turned out, the man behind the cowl of Batman was none other than the billionaire and philanthropist, Bruce Wayne. The only child of Thomas and Martha Wayne, Bruce initially had an idyllic childhood due to his family's fortune and the love supplied by his parents. Growing up, he would be sat down on the floor of Wayne Manor's entrance room by his father, who told him that despite the manor itself being built on railways, real estates, and oil, the first generation of Waynes made their fortune as hunters, trading pelts and skins with the French.

It was when Bruce was 7, that after he and his parents were walking home from the theatre after watching the Mark of Zorro, that they encountered a mugger named Joe Chill. While seemingly hesitant, Thomas Wayne threw the first punch, attempting to beat back the mugger, but he was quickly shot and mortally wounded. Stunned, his mother joined the fight, attempting to wrestle the gun away. Her attempt also failed, leading to a sad look of surrender come upon her eyes right before she was shot herself, Bruce screaming in horror. With his last dying breath, Bruce's father called out his mother's name in a loud whisper, reaching out for the final time. Watching her life pass away even as the mugger ran off into the night. And since then, Bruce was raised by Thomas' butler, Alfred Pennyworth, who was also a former intelligence agent.

Days later, during the funeral of his parents, Bruce, still traumatized by his parent's death, overcome with grief and broke away from his service. As he ran, he stumbled across a worn-out area of the Wayne estate, and fell into a cavern full of bats. The very said experience scared him, as Bruce originally developed a fear of bats. After Alfred eventually rescued him, he comforted Bruce by telling him that though people fall, they always have the strength to get up.

As years passed by, Bruce's growing pity over Gotham City eventually led Bruce to believe that he needed to find a way to solve this problem. While dabbling in mechanical engineering and the field of sciences, Bruce also traveled to various countries, perhaps the most infamous account was his training with the leader of the League of Assassins, Ra's al-Ghul. Here, he trained himself beyond the heights of mental and physical perfection, mastering many martial arts, the art of deception, tactical skills, and stealth, among many other disciplines.

After going back to Gotham, Bruce Wayne launched his first vigilante attack against criminals. However, he hadn't considered his codename yet; his first days of action were filled with brutal fights. One day, when Bruce was laid in his office, bruised and beaten, he stumbled upon a bat that crashed the windows of his office. At first, Bruce was frightened; however, upon recounting what Alfred said earlier, he started to realize that he must became what he feared the most.

He shall became a bat.

And in the age of 21, Bruce used his newfound discipline to become a fearsome masked vigilante known as the Batman, having encountered countless criminals such as the Joker (originally, the Red Hood), Deathstroke (Slade Wilson), Scarecrow (Jonathan Crane), the Riddler (Edward Nygma), Killer Croc (Waylon Jones), Bane, and many more. Despite having to fight those somewhat lunatics (especially the Joker), Bruce's morals prevented him from killing his foes, with many of these criminals are being put in either the Blackgate Penintentiary or Arkham Asylum (and yet, under various circumstances, some of those criminals successfully escape).

In 2016, Bruce began to decipher the prophecy of the upcoming invasion of the tyrant from Apokolips, Darkseid. With an aid of Wonder Woman (Diana Prince) and Superman (Clark Kent), he began forming a team of heroes and metahumans alike, including the Flash (Barry Allen), Green Arrow (Oliver Queen), Aquaman (Arthur Curry), and Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) in order to prevent such threat from ever happening. After their first victory against the Appellaxian aliens, Justice League was officially formed, with one of their prominent first battles following the team's formation was the one against Starro the Conqueror.

More than 20 years have passed since Bruce's first journey as the vigilante Batman when he was 21 years old, and yet, Bruce already witnessed many things such as the supposed death of the second Robin, Jason Todd (he would be later revived via Lazarus Pit, and became the Red Hood), his first meeting with his son, Damian Wayne, and Bruce' encounter with Catwoman (Selina Kyle). Despite these, the Batman continued to fight crime in Gotham while focusing his efforts on the team's future, in hope that the world would become a much better place to leave.

And Gotham still needs its Dark Knight to protect it.

AUTHOR'S NOTES:

Anyway, I got my time to finish the designs on Earth-ARV38 Batman, and somehow, this was the busiest part. I gotta admit, being a fan of Batman for many years, I tended to conclude that Robert Pattinson and Ben Affleck are, in my honest opinion, the best Batman actors that I've ever seen (in my honest opinion).

Hence, his Earth-ARV38 Batman suits reflect this: his Early Years era costume is my own reinterpretation of The Batman (2022) armour (with influences from both Zero Year event and 1939 Batman), while the later two was based on the Tactical Suit for Batman from the infamous Justice League (2017) movie (who would've guess that the blue, if used the right way, fits perfectly on the armor?). Yeah, the logo in the last two suits are actually Ben Affleck's Batman logo, but somehow I couldn't get the logo quite right. I wanted to make all of these designs felt like a single natural evolution (the purple cloth or sash belt was a gift by Ra's al Ghul to Bruce after completing his training from the League of Assassins), and the pose based was inspired by the Batman concept art by Jarold Sng from ArtStation: https://jaroldsng.artstation.com/projects/e0bXgw

Anyway, the idea of adding purple sash was also inspired by one of the Batman's designs by Tom Hoskisson on Instagram (@tomhoskissonart)

Of course, as I am quite a fan of the Batman: Arkham series, his Batarang is loosely based on the Arkham City version of Batarang. And by the way, I tend to mix Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy (Nolanverse), DCEU, Matt Reeves Batman (the Reevesverse), and the Batman: Year One storyline for Bruce's backstory.

RENDERS:

Early Years (Early 2000s)
Gotham's Knight (Mid 2000s-Early 2010s)
Current (Mid 2010s-Present)
Batarang

So my grandpa came back from a trip with two huge boxes filled to the brim with notebook packs (10pcs.) and other school stuff. It was something one of his friends kept for a long time for some reason and when i looked through it i found batman notebooks!!! I love batman a lot so obviously i was excited, especially since they’re not the small 16 pages notebooks with low quality drawings you’d usually find, these are really nice notebooks with 60 pages and the art is so beautiful! There’s 5 diffrent designes in one pack and it just repeats itself twice so there’s 10 notebooks in one pack in total (and dang i’ve found atleast 7 of these packs so yeah) and they have both front and back designs!! 😭😭🥹🥹 can anyone help finding what year they’re from and if they’re recent?? They’re from a polish brand called top 2000 that sells under hamelin

GENERAL DISCUSSION What is your opinion on Batman’s interaction with the magical side of DC?

I was recently wondering, given the overall cursed nature of Gotham (across DC’s history it’s been home to a comical amount of wizards, demons & magical entities) & how He‘s canonically been mentored by John Zatanna (though just in escapology & he refused to teach him actual magic) & has a friendship with Zatanna & numerous encounters with villains like Ra’s Al Ghul, Gentleman Ghost & Solomon Grundy, I was wondering what the community’s thoughts on Batman interacting with magic/the supernatural is?

Do you enjoy stories where he encounters the supernatural or do you prefer where he sticks towards more grounded (for comics at least) super science & detective work?

GENERAL DISCUSSION Has Commissioner Gordon ever did the disappearing act on Batman?

After all the years they wrote Batman vanishing on Jim, you would think they would let Jim Gordon do it to Batman at least once. Maybe not successfully but at least an attempt to give Batman a taste of his own medicine.

Alex Ross draws the best Joker in my opinion.

He doesn't go for the overly grotesque Joker look and keeps him classy, worthy of the Clown Prince of Crime title. But hey that's just my opinion, what is your favourite visual depiction of The Joker?

FILM DISCUSSION Blake is the best Robin put to film

He’s not Robin, until he is. He figures out who Batman is by himself. The struggle, the similarities to Bruce’s life himself, without the privilege. “I saw the look on your face”; I think is one of the best scenes in the Nolan trilogy.

Edit: Non animated
