Since the last post about this got deleted because it contained a X screenshot, hopefully this one actually stays for comment.

Every “Christian” who was outraged by the Pride gear should technically be double outraged by the Novig ad. And all the other gambling sponsors, prediction markets, the build submarines sponsors…

Hi. Christian pastor here. I can assure you that, at least in my evangelical church, my members would have preferred Sydney Sweeney be wearing a pride shirt during that ad than not, given the option.

I can also assure you that while we don't generally believe gambling itself is inherently sinful, the predatory stance of gambling companies to exploit gambling addicts absolutely violates the 8th and 10th Commandments (at least...), and therefore the new gambling epidemic is another example of the rich oppressing the poor and a significant negative for society. We firmly believe Proverbs 14:31 —

Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him.

Man, you grew up in the Bible? You must be old as hell

Pride night is against their faith.

Gambling? Lewd imagery? Alcohol? Pharmaceutical ads? Smoking? A-Ok.

It's because they are not real Christians. Falsely adopting the cross as an insincere moral cover for grossly abhorrent behavior has a long and illustrious history dating back to the early Middle Ages.

Dude religion is whatever the person makes of it.

The crusades and the Spanish inquisition weren’t very Christian either

As I said...

almost like cherry picking what you want from religion is a very common thing!

They pick and choose what they want to be Christian about, as always. As if being a multi millionaire wasnt already enough of an example of not following Jesus’s teachings. And im not saying they all need to just give their money away, not my business at all neither should it be anyone elses. Just pointing out the hypocrisy….something something “eye of the needle.”

Alex Call was literally one of the Dodgers who didn’t wear a pride hat… he’s now going out of his way to say he’s against the nudity on TV.

As for your “multi millionaire athlete not following Jesus”… they’re earning a paycheck for their entire working life (20’s to 60’s) over a span of just 5-10 years. For a majority of them, they’re lucky if they get into a coaching role at some level after their career is over where they make a very minimal salary.

Unless you're a theological literalist, 100% of religious practitioners are pick and choose. That’s how religion works

It also applies to almost every individual’s ethical code, extremely few are deriving the morality of their actions from first principles

Totally agree. I wonder if they filmed it shot for shot and released the same commercial again but with an African American woman, if they’d somehow find their pitchforks… 🤔

They are? At least in my limited experience they really don't like the gambling ads, and especially the Sweeney ad

I really haven’t heard anything about that, but even if true, they haven’t done anything about it. They threw a fit about the Pride merch but have remained mum on everything else that supposedly offends their religion

And everyone attacking Shane Gillis for policing women’s bodies should speak out against this also.
