Serious Replies Aquaguard scam in this city

• Upvotes

I have Urbanclap native RO and I had changed the filter in January and they claim it doesn’t need to be changed for 2 years.
This RO is booked under my name and number and UC doesn’t have any other number

Today morning my father got a call from random number that the RO needs filter servicing and we are coming to your house and it is free and my father agreed and strangely they our address too
I was not at home and not aware and the guy came and first had difficult time opening the RO but once opened he started making claims the filter has been destroyed and you will get sick if not replaced urgently and needs changing and we need to pay so that he goes and brings the filter

My mother took the sensible call of calling me and when i talked to the guy realised he is a scammer and asked him to fix the RO and leave immediately

Now he is calling me and abusing me and saying things like you are a bakra and threatening me and now i am scared for my parents
I have his photo and phone number sharing in comment below, need help on what can be done here

Suggestions Car parking near Zostel Koramangala

• Upvotes

Hey all,

I'm planning to visit Bangalore (from Hyderabad) by car and stay at Zostel Koramangala. I'm worried about parking over there, heard finding unicorns is much easier than finding parking slots at Koramangala 🥲

What are my options for parking?

I came across St.John's hospital paid parking, could this be a life saver? Will I find parking there on a Saturday (till Monday)?

Would love some advice, thanks in advance!

Rant Why has BMTC cancelled the bus stop at Manyata Tech Park?

Recently, BMTC seems to have stopped buses from dropping passengers directly at Manyata Tech Park. Commuters are now being asked to get down at Nagavara, before the flyover, or at Veeranapalya, beyond the tech park.

I understand that there may be safety concerns with stopping at the flyover, but the alternatives being provided are hardly practical.

If you get down at Nagavara, you have to walk through a stretch with ongoing construction, heavy traffic, and no proper footpaths. It’s nearly a kilometre of walking in these conditions just to reach the tech park. This is neither safe nor convenient for people commuting to work every day.

When I asked the bus conductor about this, I was told that the order had come from higher authorities and that they would be held responsible if anything happened.

A significant number of passengers on these buses used to be employees commuting to Manyata Tech Park. I fail to understand how this decision is going to encourage office-goers to use public transport.

I used to commute by motorcycle or car, but after experiencing how comfortable and convenient travelling by bus was, I switched to public transport. Now, with this change, it looks like I’ll have to go back to using my private vehicle.

Is anybody else going through this dilemma?

AskBangalore Electronic City flyover 2-wheeler monthly pass — any online recharge alternative to Paytm?

I use the Electronic City elevated expressway and have been recharging my two-wheeler monthly pass through Paytm. The Paytm recharge page is now empty, and I can't find another way to recharge online.

Has anyone found a working online alternative (website, app or UPI) for the existing two-wheeler monthly pass?

AskBangalore Is Bengaluru's address system basically a collection of landmarks that no longer exist?

I'm genuinely curious how a city with this much technology still manages to function with such a confusing address system.

A relative recently moved into a building in BTM Layout. The building has a proper door number, a street name and a Google Maps location.

None of those are apparently the correct way to find it.

The instructions that actually work are "take the left after the old bakery, go past the temple and look for the building opposite where the medical shop used to be."

The bakery shut down years ago. The medical shop is now something else.

And somehow people who have lived there for years know exactly where you're talking about.

It's funny until you think about who has to deal with this daily. Delivery workers calling five times, newcomers wandering around identical cross roads, emergency vehicles potentially losing precious minutes because the written address doesn't match what people use on the ground.

What confuses me is that this doesn't seem like some impossibly expensive infrastructure problem. Consistent building numbers, readable street signs and accurate public maps would already make a difference.

We have apps that can deliver groceries in minutes, but identifying the correct entrance to a building can still require a conversation with three different security guards.

Is this mainly a problem in newer layouts, or do people in older parts of Bengaluru deal with it too? And has anyone actually seen a neighbourhood where the street names, house numbers and map locations all consistently match?

Citizen's Report Self checkin counters at KIA are closed because somebody brought diwali firecrackers and checked them in

Post image
1.5k Upvotes

Reached airport T1 to catch my flight to Delhi. I fly every 2 weeks and by now airport motion has become a routine. Usually it takes 20 minutes from digi yatra entry to self checkin kiosk to security check to boarding gate.

This morning it took twice that. The checkin counters on the left side when you enter have been closed so had to stand in the line at baggage drop counters. When I asked a security uncle about the self checkin they replied, people are getting firecrackers 🧨 and checking in and then it takes them a lot of time to call the passenger etc.

So they've closed the kiosks till Diwali. If you're flying out for festivals please keep this in mind and keep some buffer time with you.

I have friends of mine who crafted the idol using clay and used paint of basic features. Immersion of that idol is so much more safe and respectful to environment and idol itself. Can't the same be done for association's celebrations too!

News Admitted to Manipal Hospital (Old Airport Rd) for leg surgery: Broken bed for 70 hrs, 1-hr wait during chest pain, and when bill jumped to ₹2.33L, they scribbled "15k discount and close" on paper.

Post image
978 Upvotes

I recently got admitted in Manipal Hospital Old HAL airport road for an elected leg implant removal surgery. I was given a broken bed. How fair is it to give an Orthopedic patient a broken bed when opted for a planned surgery?

I had to explain what I am going through in severe pain to minimum 20 staffs and still the issue wasn’t resolved. They kept transferring the issue to next person and I had to explain it to each and everybody there. I explained to everyone in tears yet nothing solved. They instead quietly came to get my sign on the bill paper that estimated is ₹1.7L but the bill will go upto ₹2.5L with zero facilities.
And when I refused to sign that consent form they replaced the broken bed after 70 HOURS of complaining.

On the morning of 25 Sept, I suffered acute chest pain and hypotension my BP dropping below 80. It took OVER 1 HOUR for any doctor to arrive. An ECG was done, but no doctor followed up to explain it.
My mother had to run around the hospital to find the duty doctor, because they were not there whole night.

After all this the junior doctor from the team came to dress my wound with a nurse and when I was crying in pain she screamed at me to stop it and was very rough in handling me.

But after everything I faced the bill kept inflating to around ₹2.33Lakhs with zero facility. They forced me to pay 2.08 lakhs other they said I will not get discharged from hospital. This is just the way of showing hooliganism on a bed ridden patient to extract money.

Is this the standard of healthcare in Bengaluru’s top private hospitals? Has anyone successfully gotten a refund from their management after escalation?

AskBangalore The Poem By Shriram Properties in Shetti Halli – Connecting fellow buyers regarding stalled construction & legal updates

Hi everyone,

Posting this to reach out to fellow flat buyers/allottees of The Poem By Shriram Properties, located in Shetti Halli.

The on-site construction has come to a standstill due to ongoing litigation involving the project. Over the past few weeks, a group of us have banded together, and we now have an active forum of 80+ verified buyers coordinating on next steps.

Why We Are Connecting

  • Tracking Ongoing Litigation: Getting direct, verified updates from court and K-RERA filings rather than relying on delayed or contradictory statements from sales staff.
  • Exploring Collective Legal Remedies: Assessing impleadment, representation through an advocate, and protecting allottee rights under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act.
  • Forming a Recognized Association: Taking initial steps toward formalizing an Allottees Welfare Association to ensure our collective locus standi.

How to Connect

Because discussions involve sensitive legal strategy and unit details, we keep our main forum strictly restricted to genuine buyers (no brokers, agents, or unauthorized third parties).

Please do not send Reddit DMs/Chats (they frequently get missed or filtered).

Instead, send an email to:

thepoemallottee [at] gmail [dot] com

You will immediately receive our secure 2-minute verification form link to share basic booking details and be added to our coordinated WhatsApp forum.

If you know colleagues, friends, or family who have invested in this project, please share this post with them.

AskBangalore Getting Error page trying to pay BBMP Property tax

Post image
9 Upvotes

I am getting this error page after entering the catcha and clicking 'Proceed' (after entering PID, Owner name and 'Retrieve'ing and 'Confirm'ing my information in previous pages) on https://bbmptax.karnataka.gov.in/default.aspx since last 24 hours.

I have tried multiple times on different browsers after clearing cache, but it still shows me this error page. What can be the reason? Anybody else facing this?

Note that just before I started getting this error, I successfully paid the property tax for a previous year(with penalty) for this same property on this portal.

AskBangalore BLR airport entry

I (F) have an early morning flight of 6:15am and I don't want to travel at 3am in the morning for flight for safety issues, is it possible that if I arrive at the airport around 11/12am the previous night, they will give entry? As some say they might allow you to enter, others say that they won't allow. What is the actual scene.

AskBangalore What is the most unexpected way you made friends with strangers?

I freelance and often go to this cafe near my house for work. there's another guy who has similar routine as me. We both come around the same time, sit at our usual spots and get work done. We know the other person exists but never actually gotten around to talk. The other day, it was that quiet hour before lunch and there were barely 3 other tables occupied when suddenly my phone goes off at FULL VOLUME with this ridiculously loud meme sound 😭 I had customised it through pop upi for when i receive money, and it went WAAAOOWWW (that anime meme sound) in the middle of an otherwise peaceful cafe.

Everyone looked up and this guy snickered at me and goes, ""cool ringtone, man.""

i laughed and told him it's actually my payment sound, not my ringtone. i'd been expecting an important call that morning, so i'd cranked my phone volume all the way up and completely forgotten about it. Somehow that was the icebreaker we needed, we ended up chatting and taking a break for lunch.

All these months of awkwardly existing in the same space and all it took was my phone publicly embarrassing me. Has anyone else in bangalore made friends with a complete stranger in the most random way possible?

AskBangalore Autos are asking for extra money if I have luggage?

I was booking an auto today for my relatives to go to the bus stop and there were 2 of them with 2 small cabin luggage-esque suitcases, and 2 small hand bag sort of bags. 2 auto drivers back to back said that its extra for more than 1 suitcase. One said 100 rupees extra, the other said 70, and came down to 50. Apparently these are new rules? I've never faced this issue when using another app. Did I get scammed or is this a legit rule now? Also I live in whitefield area in a nice area, so is it that IT tactic of looting?
