Wireless Unlimited Your Way 2.0 per line cost - UYW comparison chart for AT&T consumer plans: Elite 2.0, Premium 2.0, Extra 2.0, and Value 2.0.

I don't think I've ever seen AT&T do so many different related changes in such a short time with a new plan: UYW 2.0 comes out, price changes for older UYW plans, adding Elite 2.0, making different plans be worth different promotional credits, and lowering prices on the brand new plans.

Since there have been so many changes to UYW in the last few months, I've created a new post as the old post had lots of comments/answers that aren't necessarily relevant (or true) any more.

The main differences:

  • Value 2.0 is cheaper than Starter SL in most new configurations (even with discounts?) as of the late-April increase and is prioritized for the first 5GB (but has less of hotspot). I think this is the only plan to have taken something away, so that might be why they changed the plan name.
  • Extra 2.0 has more prioritized data than previously (100GB vs. 75GB) and more hotspot (50GB vs. 30GB). It may cost more or less depending on your discounts and number of lines. This is probably most similar to older unlimited plans.
  • Premium 2.0 has a lot more hotspot than Elite EL or Premium PL (100GB vs. 50GB/60GB). If you need the hotspot, it's a great deal. You can also get a ½ price tablet or wearable line with this plan.
  • Elite 2.0 Includes everything Premium 2.0 has, but 250GB of hotspot, Turbo, free tablet line, free wearable line, and instead of International Day Pass (IDP), it looks like when you are international you'll get free calling/texting and 20GB of data (this last part is kind of limiting considering the other UYW plans data are unlimited, so I'm wondering if you can pay extra for more, otherwise it drops to 512Kbps, which is pretty slow). I'm assuming these free international countries are IDP countries. No Fan/Signature discounts on Elite 2.0. A few people reported their internet discount works with Elite 2.0.

ActiveArmor: Some 2.0 plans that come with ActiveArmor, only come with the standard, not advanced. Premium 2.0 can activate the advanced for free in your plan (I'm going to guess you can do the same with Elite 2.0). There is a free version and another version that is listed with "At no extra charge".

Standard price on non-phones: $20.99 per tablet, $20.99 per camera, $10.99 per wearable. If you have Premium 2.0, you can get one of these at ½ off. If you have one of these non-phone devices, it would probably make Premium 2.0 more cost effective for you (although the additional hotspot may max it so you don't need a line for your tablet). If you have Elite 2.0, then you get a tablet and wearable for no extra charge.

If you have HBO "free" with your current cellular plan and switch, or you change all your Elite EL lines over, you'll lose HBO. You need to compare how much you'd save to see if it matters.

The prices on the chart assume autopay/paperless/checking discounts. You need autopay/paperless for a $5 discount and autopay/paperless checking for a $10 discount (and as of now, the AT&T Citi card also qualifies as a checking discount). Add $5 or $10 to each line if you do not do these discounts.

There is no way anyone can help you compare the cost of the newer plan to the older plan if we don't know what discount you have, how many phone lines, and which plan those lines are on.

Additional info on this plan can be found in this AT&T PDF.

DISCOUNTS:

  • Signature discount: Previously this got you Premium PL for the Price of Extra EL, but on the new plans it gets you 20% off the Premium 2.0 plan.
  • Appreciation discounts: You get a 25% discount on the older UYW plans if the account holder fits in one of these categories: teachers, doctors, nurses, military, veterans, and first responders. The newer plans are NOT 25% off, check the bottom of the chart as it varies per type of line. I'm not sure if these 2.0 discounts are supposed to include Healthcare and First Responders if you are not on FirstNet, but people are reporting that their plan says so. https://www.att.com/offers/discount-program/appreciation/
  • You did NOT lose (nor did it change) your 25% appreciation discount for Elite EL, Premium PL, Extra EL, and Starter SL, it's still 25% for those lines. AT&T made a mistake on a bill a couple months ago and gave you too big of a discount, the next cycle they corrected it (and let you keep the extra they took off) so it looks like you had a price increase. But if you look at the previous few bill totals, you can see it dip (for no reason, other than the mistake), and then it goes back up to where it has been for a few months. Obviously, I cannot see your bill, but everyone that I've talked to about this and has looked back on their bills (previous to the lower bill) has seen this is what it looks like. If you've made changes during those three months, it would be difficult to see by just looking at the totals.
  • This generic-ish union discount might be applicable for some and some may waive activation/upgrade fess. https://www.att.com/offers/discount-program/union-discount/
  • For all discounts, the account needs to be in the name of the FAN/Signature holder.

Please note that while the change plan comparison page (when logged in) shows that Elite 2.0 plan is not included, the Latin American roaming page specifically says it does and so does att.com/unlimited

Promotional phone credits warning: Not all plans have the same promotional deals like they use to. As always, please read the "offer details" before assuming your plan is eligible for full trade in credits. Also, please do the math to see if it's worth switching, paying $10 more a month for 36 months is $360, if it's not getting you more than $360 in credits, is it really worth switching to a more expensive plan. https://www.reddit.com/r/ATT/comments/1rsb36o/warning_a_value_20_line_may_or_may_not_cause/

Discussion Duo Pre-Order: Apple or ATT?

Thumbnail gallery
18 Upvotes

Hey all,

Eagerly awaiting the duo pre-order tomorrow. So much so that I am enrolled in both pre-orders via Apple and ATT. I have heard Apple will likely have a quicker site/larger inventory at launch, but noticed that the ATT promo does not reflect in my final checkout.

Will this discount be reflected in later billing statements, or should I risk it all and pre-order via ATT and 100% secure the credit promo?

News NUA not available through Apple

So it seems like NUA is not available to add on if purchasing the phone through Apple. The update today specifically states that if you want to take the promotional trade in credit through AT&T, you cannot add NUA. This sucks because I wanted NUA and order through apple since supply will be better. Anyone else dealing with this predicament?

Edit: turns out you can’t add NUA through Apple if you didn’t previously have it added on your current device

Wireless Gift Card Charge Back

Has anyone had an experience with AT&T trying to recoup a gift card? I took advantage of the up to $800 buyout on a line back in May ($600 gift card) but my brother says the service where he's at is deteriorating and he wants to try another carrier. Since I'm within the first 12 months, I'm thinking they will do a charge back per the terms AT&T Rewards - ETF? I was trying to find any examples on here of people confirming this really happens since it does say "may" in the terms. Any knowledge is appreciated.

Wireless Rep told me to go to the store @ 10am on Duo day to pre-order. Advice?

I'm doing a shared upgrade so it's a little complicated - I'm giving my 13yo daughter my iPhone 17 Pr0 (with a balance of $750). I'm using her paid off iPhone 14 to put toward the Duo- so all the backend / line stuff needs to be swapped. This is a little more than I'm comfortable doing myself.

I called an AT&T rep and she told me that it won't be a problem and suggested I go to the store when they open (10am) and she'll pre-order the Duo with me and do the backend work at the same time to transfer lines.

My only concern is that the Duo preorder unlocks a few hours before 10am. How much of a risk is this that they'll be "out of stock" and closed for pre-orders, or pushing out my delivery date into 2027?

Wireless Shared Upgrade during an online pre-order? I'm so confused.

Just when I thought I couldn't get any more confused...

I'd like to do a shared upgrade.

  • 13yo Daughter's paid off iPhone 14 = trade in for Duo (my new phone)
  • My iPhone 17 Pr0 ($730 balance) = give to 13yo daughter (her new phone)

The issue is the backend stuff. I want this to be a shared "upgrade," so I want

  • the iPhone 17 Pr0 installments moving onto her line.
  • the Duo installments and NextUp Anyime on my line.

I can do this in-store, but they don't open until 10am. God only know when I'll get my hands on a Duo if I want two hours past launch.

Is there any way to do this online? I'm reading a lot of mixed stuff about how this'll work after the fact.

This has just started happening in the last day or two and it’s constantly spamming me now. Anyone know how to disable this? I’m more worried about if there IS a vulnerability than if things are ok hah. Can’t seem to find any answers anywhere.

Discussion Trade In thought Costco

Has anyone recently traded in an AT&T phone through Costco’s website? (Not kiosk).
I was simulating, and the site redirected me to an AT&T site offering the same trade-in value but no $35 activation fee. I believe there’s also a Costco gift card included.

I was wondering if there are any disadvantages by doing it through Costco in the event I have issues or need to return my phone.

Wireless NUA Trade in Scratch damage

Hello

I plan on trading in my 17P to a Duo using my NUA but I have some scratches on the case of the phone. Do you think I will still get the $1200 trade in promo or is the damage too much and I will get a lesser amount?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Wireless How to get an issue resolved

Anyone been put into the wrong insurance on a business account? Apparently the agent that signed me up over the phone, put me in Servify even though i specified full coverage, damage, lost, theft, etc. for all devices on the account. And they don't cover loss or theft. So they charged me $1k for replacing a lost phone. I spent days and weeks talking to the absolutely worthless, unintelligible customer service only to finally find out about the customer retention dept. when I threatened to move back to Verizon. After talking with them they issued a credit back against the $1k. So thought my 30 hours of phone time paid off.
Then the following months statement I got the charge of $1k put back on my account and now have had two "cases" opened etc. and most of these idiots don't even know that they have both Asurion and Servify for insurance. They keep claiming I have to contact Asurion who has confirmed they aren't' the source of the charge.

I need to move away from this travesty of a company but I know i can't port phones over with a balance I have no intention of paying. Shame is I moved from Verizon two years ago to get updated phones and hopefully better coverage as Verizon coverage had been declining.

I have wasted 60 hours of my life on a simple issue.

Discussion Samsung One UI Update Broke AT&T Conditional Call Forwarding to Google Voice Voicemail – Fix

I have a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra on AT&T. Before a recent One UI update, I had conditional call forwarding configured so that unanswered, busy, or unreachable calls to my AT&T number would automatically go to my Google Voice voicemail.

Everything was working perfectly until the update.

The Problem:

After the One UI update, unanswered calls stopped reaching Google Voice voicemail.

I didn't initially realize this was happening until someone informed me that they had tried calling multiple times.

They reported:

"It rang several times and then a recording stated that the wireless customer was not available and to try again, no option to leave VM."

This is a serious issue because callers cannot leave voicemail, and I have no way of knowing that someone tried to reach me unless they contact me another way.

Possible Cause:

It appears that the One UI update may have reset or affected AT&T's conditional call-forwarding settings.

Potential Solution:

  1. Open the Samsung Phone app.

  2. Go to Settings → Supplementary services → Call forwarding → Voice calls.

  3. Check the following settings:

    - Forward when busy

    - Forward when unanswered

    - Forward when unreachable

  4. Make sure all three are configured to forward to your Google Voice number.

  5. Keep "Always forward" disabled.

Alternatively, Google Voice documents AT&T conditional forwarding dial codes:

- Unanswered: "61GoogleVoiceNumber#"

- Unreachable: "62GoogleVoiceNumber#"

- Busy: "67GoogleVoiceNumber#"

Replace "GoogleVoiceNumber" with your actual 10-digit Google Voice number. Dial each code separately and wait for confirmation.

After configuring, test by calling your AT&T number from another phone and letting it ring unanswered.

If the settings fail or forwarding still doesn't work, AT&T may need to check conditional call forwarding on the line.

I have updated the below to fix my issue.

- Forward when busy

- Forward when unanswered

- Forward when unreachable

Question for the community:

Has anyone else experienced conditional call forwarding to Google Voice breaking after a Samsung One UI update, particularly on AT&T?

Did reconfiguring the forwarding settings fix it, or did you have to contact AT&T to get it working again?

Hope this helps.

I upgraded last year to an Anker 3.0 quick charge 18 watt, and it works ok but I get A LOT of random shut downs when running off charger (no battery) that has nothing to do with heat

Would a higher wattage power block help?

Suggestion Trying to cancel an order. App doesn’t work, online doesn’t work, 2-3 hour wait time for customer service.

Was signed up to transfer my service to AT&T from Verizon. Did the order through Costco and everything went great, at first. They couldn’t port one of my numbers for some reason so I had to get a new port out pin. Got the pin and gave it to AT&T. That’s where the deal went downhill. Instead of just correcting the pin, they canceled the transfer of one line and reordered that line. Through that process they took that line off the firstnet service I had everything signed up through. Also, they ordered 3 iPhones with that same number. Now I have 5 phones on order with only 3 lines. Also, I am not getting the line discount through Firstnet now, and the Costco perks I was supposed to get apparently aren’t there either. I’ve had the phones on order since September 23rd and they still haven’t moved in the process. I have no way of canceling the order as I can’t do it online, and can’t get a hold of anyone. Who has 3 hours to wait on hold? Any ideas from any AT&T customers with what I can do here?

Wireless Please help with billing!

Post image
0 Upvotes

This is a long one and I hope it makes sense but I appreciate any advice!!

I received an email from AT&T today saying that my upcoming bill had increased by $779.89. Clearly I was alarmed by this since I have one line on the Premium 2.0.

I recently traveled to Europe for 2 weeks. Because it was more cost-effective than the Day Pass, I changed my plan from the Premium 2.0 plan to the Elite 2.0 plan because it included roaming in Europe.

Went to Europe for 2 weeks, everything worked fine.

As soon as I landed back in the US on September 9th (literally in the car on the way home from the airport), I changed my plan back to Premium 2.0 because the billing cycle ended on September 9th and I did not want to start a new cycle with the more expensive plan as it was no longer needed.

I understand now that this change in plan is effective for the whole day even though I had changed it at ~6pm EDT on that day. Therefore, the small amount of data abroad I had used before my flight that day (only 381MB) is now costing me an extra $779.87 even though I was still on the Elite 2.0 plan at the time of usage.

I called AT&T billing and spoke to 2 different people and attempted to explain this situation several times. They stated that it was a valid charge and could not do anything about it since the billing cycle had already closed. I even stated that I would pay the bill upfront if they could credit the $779.87 to my account for future months. Nope, not possible.

Obviously I don’t plan on paying this amount, and I’ve turned off my AutoPay.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do next?

Thank you so much for any help :)

Discussion Upgrading/ billing question

So I upgraded my husbands phone on AT&T last month and it let me do the initial fees on to the account/bill statement instead of paying out right with a credit card. A few days later I went to upgrade my line but the option wasn’t there and was forcing me to pay with a credit card. Will I be able to do that again this month with my phone upgrade or is there a limit to how many times I can do that?

Wireless AT&T IPhone 18 Not Working

I recently transferred from T-Mobile to AT&T and got the new iPhone 18. The phone worked fine and everything transferred but the phone was stuck in SOS. My number says it is ported over on the AT&T network and that the sim is active. I no longer have service with the T-Mobile phone. AT&T replaced my phone and the same issue persists with the e-sim activated and stuck in SOS. At this point 10 hours have been invested with AT&T customer support and still no solution or answer to the problem. the IPhone 18 has the latest software and network update, we have tried multiple new e-sims and have reset it so many times. Has anyone else experienced this and got it fixed?
