Is there a form of HRT that doesn't include chest growth?

I am an AMAB genderfluid and I like having certain male characteristics, including the flat chest, however, what I don't like is the prospect of aging out of androgyny and the opportunity to be feminine because of baldness or general middle aged man issues.

I have looked into normal HRT but, the more I think about it, the more I realise how dysphoric I would become with breasts + I don't want to lead people into thinking I'm trans fem or just a woman, when I'm not, I really don't want to have to give that explanation every time.

Any solutions to this?

Questions about dating a ftm transgender

There’s this guy I really, really like. We’ve been talking for a while, we met last weekend and really hit it off. When he told me before we met that he is trans, I responded that it doesn’t bother me at all, and that I like him for who he is, for what his heart holds within. I’m so excited to meet him again this weekend if his schedule allows and if all goes well I’ll hopefully have an amazing boyfriend on my side.

But before all that, I want to be better informed about what’s it like to date a transgender guy, I want to be ready to tackle any sensitive topics with care, and not say or do something that would make him uncomfortable, especially when it’s about intimacy. I wanna be someone he can feel comfortable being his true self

Cis guy here, I have a strange question.

If I (a cis guy) were to go to a reality where I'm born a girl, would you consider me a cisgender girl?

Background: So, I've been researching the Occult and Esoteric Skills (Lucid dreaming, Astral projection and The like) to change my gender to a cis girl. To be honest, I have no idea where I'm going with this, I feel restless just thinking about this predicament I'm in and I kinda just want reassurance that it is theoretically possible for me to be a cis girl in spite of being a cis guy in my original reality.

Why?: I don't know to be honest, I'm sorta fine with being a boy, but I wanna try to see if I like being a girl more. Maybe, I'll finally be able to feel like a person rather than a fictional character living through a linear story. Being a girl does sound nice though, if I do manage to become one I'll probably move to another reality, I cannot stay here because this reality in my opinion is not getting any better and I want to live freely as possible, maybe I should go to a reality where I live in cottage with a cat to keep me company or maybe just relive my childhood as a girl.

Kinda worried about trans guys

I saw a couple of concerning posts on an anonymous image boards targeting trans men but its probably no big deal. I mean it was an anonymous image board but it just doesn't sit right with me for some reason.

Does anyone else kinda hate trans subreddits?

I know this is ironic because Im pretty active on a lot of trans subs, but I feel like I kinda really dislike most trans subreddits. It seems like most of the posts are either people who are doing way better than you, or someone experiencing the most terrible thing ever. Subs for people to post photos are obviously going to be skewed towards people who are confident in themselves, so its just a wave of passing trans people, who look way better than me. Other subs are half and half people posting about getting HRT or other good things, and are doing better, or people who just got kicked out or had some horrible transphobic experience. It genuinely feels like whiplash between jealousy and the misery of being trans, neither of which I really like. While I do still use these just because I like the sense of community, I find these aspects pretty unpleasant. I know its bad to be jealous, but its hard not to when you see so many people doing better than you. Also lots of trans subs are either incredibly cis hating or very kinky or both. Do you also feel this way and why/why not?

How common are cis-men on HRT?

I’ve been on HRT (Estrogen) for 4 years and still consider myself cis as I have no issue being a guy and no interest in actually transitioning. It was all for vanity and to make me look a lot prettier.

The definition of cis indicated that you just have to identify with the gender you were born as. I have a lot of trans friends who are wonderful, and yet I have never been able to encounter any other cis men on estrogen. Some nonbinary ones sure, and they’re great too.

I see femboys who I guess would fit that bill but lowkey I think most of them give me weird third reich cosplay vibes which is off putting.

I just kinda feel weirdly isolated.

Does anyone else feel intense gender envy watching cis women in intimacy?

I’ve been feeling really down lately and just need to know if I’m not alone in this. Whenever I see a cis woman in an intimate scenario, I get this overwhelming sense of envy. I wish so badly that I had her organ and that I could be in her place experiencing that. It honestly makes me feel like shit and triggers my dysphoria really hard.

Has anyone else struggled with this type of envy/dysphoria? How do you cope with it?

Can you choose to be trans?

Since earlier this year Ive been meeting some trans friends who have helped me recognize and experiment with femininity within myself, and in turn Ive joined a couple of trans related online communities.

Through those friends and communities sharing their experiences Ive come to the understanding that being trans is not something people choose to be, it's inherent and essential to each person within those groups, but over the last few months Ive started coming to the conclusion that I want to be trans, I want to fully realize those feminine parts of myself and go through a transition.

Im not sure how to proceed anymore, I feel like it isnt right of me to transition knowing that it is a choice for me, I could just stay as a guy if I wanted to. I worry of coming off as a caricature or like I'm mocking actual trans people if I were to continue and start claiming that Im trans as well.

about the high school XC meet situation...

I am a cis F but I always had issues with coming up with points of why transgender women should be in women's sports. I've seen some stuff of biological women having higher testosterone levels possibly, but i've also seen that women with higher testosterone could get banned from playing in women's sports (correct me if im wrong please!)

if you havent seen the situation, recently there was a high school cross country competition with a transgender girl competing in the girl's competition. there had been some competitors that, in protest, walked the competition.

I really want some talking points in justifying transgender women in women's sports, but i'm honestly having a hard time. i don't know if my request is coming out in the right words, but I hope that i am presenting as respectful, and let me know if i am not!

is it worth it to transition?

writing this as an mtf trans woman hoping desperately for some guidance. i am so sick of looking in the mirror and seeing my manly face and body. i have body hair everywhere and would have to spend thousands and thousands of dollars into surgeries that just could be avoided if i was born a woman. but i wasn't. and it kills me. i want to look in the mirror and see a woman. i want to be a woman so badly, and yet i am stuck inside this body, whether I like it or not. i know theres no magic fix, and ive only been on hormones for about 6 months at this point, but i dont see much hope. more of just a venting thing, I dont require anyone to answer or read this. the thing is, I have it so well and yet I'm so miserable. i have a supportive family, I'm in an area where its rather safe to be trans, and it still feels so bad inside my skin. and I dont want to date anybody either because anyone who finds me attractive is gonna find me attractive for the wrong reasons, the wrong parts of my face, my body, etc.

TLDR: feeling heavily dysphoric, not sure if continuing to transition is even worth it.

Confused....

Met a very nice trans lady and we hit it off. She says she's looking for a "straight" man which I consider myself but we have found ourselves at a crossroads. She's looking for someone who's willing to bottom for her. She says she verse and likes to dominate a man when she's in the mood. I do consider myself straight and I don't bottom or have any real interest in doing so. I am new to the trans dating scene and have only ever experienced cis women. I guess I'm confused about what "straight" actually means in this world. If I have said anything offensive in this post I apologize. I'm just trying to get some clarity so I know what to look for in the future.

Is Starbucks still a viable path to FFS in red states?

Hi everyone! I am finishing up my undergrad degree and am taking a gap year before starting graduate school in 2028. I need FFS but I live in Arkansas which means the state explicitly excludes FFS from gender affirming care and the vast majority of insurances do the same.

Starbucks, notably, still mentions coverage for gender affirming surgeries often considered cosmetic by other providers. There was some kind of change in 2022 which worsened this coverage, but as I understand the company still works alongside insurance to provide access.

I wanted to see if anyone who knows how providers/gender affirming care works for starbucks in the red states could give me some advice on whether or not this is realistic. Thanks for any help!

Is this phrase invalidating?

When gender comes up i (NB) often state that gender is a myth, should I refrain from saying this around my trans friends? Is it invalidating?

Lack of womb, annoy other trans people?

I’ll delete this later more of a vent

Does any trans women. Just feel immense sadness that I cannot biologically cannot have a child. Like I stay up at night just wishing I could have children. Just wishing I could feel the pain and joy of pregnancy. I just want to be a mum and I can’t. I want period pains. It just, no matter what I do, it won’t magically appear

I go through this from time to time, the immense sadness that is, I just wanna know if I’m not alone on this issue.

To masc trans women - what does it feel like to be a woman?

I am cis and for me I don't really know what being a woman feels like. I mean i feel like a woman when hormones and PMS are kicking my ass, I feel like a woman when I am all fem and pretty. Otherwise I am .. like just like randomly a human busy with my thoughts. I get trans women that feel feminine and wanna dress in female clothes etc. What I woner about is butch trans girls. Like how does one know they are a woman if they present and act masc, especially without HRT?What is the female feeling that lets you know you are a woman? Idk when I have dressed more masc I don't even feel much femaleness lol. No shade at all I just wanna learn.

Why do I think about being trans constantly?

I posted for the first time a couple months ago but I’ve still been trying to wrap my head around potentially being transgender. I feel as though a lot of my feeling are coming from the standpoint of all of the is being a fetish, but the problem is these thoughts are popping up into my mind several times a day. Like whenever I go on here or tumblr I immediately go to the “sissy” captions, but I only look at affirming ones that say something along the lines of “you need to be a girl” and never the actual sissy stuff. So I don’t know if that invalidates the fetish aspect or not.

I know that the answer to this is usually “cis people don’t think about this,” and while I’m tempted to agree, is there any possibility of not actually being transgender?

Disappointing Blood Results - One Year HRT

Hi everyone!

I'm a 41-year-old trans woman from Ireland and I've just completed my first year of feminising HRT. I'm feeling a bit disappointed and confused by my latest blood results and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced something similar.

I'm currently taking 3.75 mg Oestrogel and 150 mg spironolactone daily. I've been on 150 mg spiro since March.

What's concerning me is that my testosterone has actually increased over the year! I mean what the hell? Despite taking HRT consistently. My oestrogen also seems relatively low compared with the usual recommended levels.

The confusing part is that I've actually experienced quite a lot of positive physical changes.

I've had noticeable breast development, my skin has become much softer, and I've experienced substantial fat redistribution to my bum. It's become noticeably fuller, and I feel like it's still changing.

My body hair has also reduced dramatically. Hair on my back, neck and ears has practically stopped growing. I've noticed some slight facial softening and what looks like a small improvement in my hairline.

So physically, I feel like HRT is working, yet my blood results seem to suggest my testosterone isn't being adequately suppressed.

I'm planning to discuss this with my HRT provider, including whether spironolactone is the right anti-androgen for me.

Has anyone else had relatively high testosterone after a year of HRT but still experienced significant feminisation? Did your levels eventually improve, or did you need to change medication?

I'd really appreciate hearing other people's experiences!

FTM but i wish i was a girl

or, rather, I wish i wanted to be/stay a girl. Women are so terribly beautiful, but being percieved as one makes my skin crawl. I've been ruminating over what this says about me for about a month now, but i've been socially out for almost 5 years. I rarely think of myself as a woman, and when i do it is because of social circumstances eg. being misread or talked to by elders/cis men; it always depresses me. But womanhood has always attracted me, i mostly grew up really feminine and i still carry many 'girlish' interests even as a guy, though i know that doesnt necessarily mean anything. Even so, having a female body doesnt reflect me in a weird and abstract way i'm sure transmasculine people can relate to and understand, and i do feel euphoria upon being treated as a guy. Not to mention the burden being a trans person represents, especially with my unsupportive family and being socially out but not transitioned medically. I've pretty much decided I just want to be a drag artist after I transition, but I'm still a little worried i'm misreading some signals in my head which will lead to me regretting transition. So i guess I'm posting this to check if anyone else has felt this way and if it ever gets better or if i'm genuinely just making up the whole trans thing...

Gonna delete this in a day or two but this bullshit has been too distracting to function normally.

Slightly considering Estrogen. Should I try it even if i'm a bit scared?

• Upvotes

I'm 15 and a Trans Girl. I'm not really liking male puberty that much, I hate the masculine shape of my face and body, and would rather those be feminine, so I started considering Estrogen. But I don't know if it's the right thing for me, I'm scared it will feel weird for me when my body starts changing and I'm scared of disliking those changes, even though I like when my body shape looks feminine. Did anyone else also have this fear? Should I just try it?

oestrogel questions?

hi guys i started hrt yesterday, and ive been prescribed 3 pumps daily of oestrogen (2.25mg total) and 50mg spironolactone twice a day (100mg total) and from what i understood, the prescriber told me to do my oestrogen at once, on an evening, but 2.25mg of oestrogen every 24hours seems... too infrequent.

if i was to split my e application to every 12 ish hours, how would i split 3 pumps? and do you guys have any opinions on the frequency and time of the application?

I am really unsure whether i am really trans or not

Hi so I never really had any moment during my childhood where I was unhappy with my gender and I used to look up to other men and wanted to be like them. However when I was 17 I had a dream where i was a woman and it made me really happy and I often chased that feeling by wearing make up, crossdressing etc and it made me feel good but I never really looked at myself and was like "yea im a girl" or like "yea im trans" I have always been really on the fence about it. Being a man doesn't really bring me all that much discomfort and I can picture myself growing old as man but sometimes I really feel like internally im a woman and certain aspects of being a man make me feel a little upset when i feel like that. I just kinda wish I was comfortable and secure in my gender and i dont know if this discomfort is really worth flipping my life and future on its head for
