Work Is there any company in CH building small screens locally?

Any sort of small screens, ideally with touch option, 2-5 inch ? LCD / OLED, produced locally, if any.

Something like this, however 3-5 inch ideally.

Unlikely

no. there's like 10 in the world and they don't even fully overlap in product category, so you likely get 5 max for any given requirement. none of them are in europe. (also you can't order from most of them anyway)

I've added an image, maybe I didn't make myself clear initially.

it was clear. the answer is just no. it doesn't matter what they should look like as there are none

😂 how much should it cost? 10k??

10k per display with a guaranteed volume of 1000 per year over 5 years could maybe make this worth it.

Why do you want specifically from CH? And by screens you mean the LCD/OLED panels themselves or just putting together the assembly and selling it under CH branding?

yes, LCD/OLED.
Need to be produced locally for a project, not imported.

Display manufacturing is not something a small company will do as a side hustle. The manufacturers are in Asia and there is absolutely zero incentive to have an incredibly expensive version over here.

indeed, I might need to rethink the sourcing. Thanks.

Im guessing some school project that has the requirement to be produced locally? There no way youre gonna manage that, everything regarding electronics is coming from asia for a good reason.

Unless you plan to produce millions of products for your project they wouldnt even bother setting up the tooling for a custom display.

No you need to visit Shenzen, nothing happens in EU not even TFT or E-Ink screens.

How I know? I worked for an IoT company

I had something similar for my bachelor project in EE, it was an e-ink Display but it was not swiss.

What could be relevant and made by swiss companies (not necessarily made in Switzerland) are Renata for batteries (including miniature LiPo) and Sensirion for sensors

Maybe they can help you. But nothing written that they produce in Switzerland though.

The manufacturing of zny suxh sxreens doesn't exist anywhere in the world outside asia. Tye same goes for most electronics.

The best you can get is a swiss desigbed product, asian materials, and if you don't mind a massive pirxe markup you can have swiss assembled.

why on earth give the measurement in inches in switzerland

•

u/alexrada 1h ago

try thinking again: Zoll=Inch

display size is in inches.

Inches is extremely common as the unit that display diagonal size is measured in.

This message I am writing to you from my 15 inch laptop. My 13 inch macbook is in the other room. My 50 inch TV is in the living room, while my 10 inch tablet is on the desk.

Internet says there is no such factory in all of Europe.

"Europe does not have mass-production "fabs" (fabrication plants) that manufacture raw LCD or OLED glass substrates from scratch."

Of course you can easily order that from Aliexpress, and you will have it at your door in a couple of weeks.
