Can i apply for a f-1 after an asylum application got rejected

Thumbnail

so basically my parents brought me to usa when i was 13 and applied to asylum, after 5 years the case got denied and appeal got dismissed, it got denied after 4 days that I turned 18, now after a while i got a offer from a university and got a good sponsor to attend this university playing soccer, im wondering if now with a new passport asking for a f-1 visa would be possible or if it will be automatically rejected because of these issues in the past.

NY pro bono requirement under H4 visa

Hi! I’m a foreign-educated attorney who passed all NY bar exams on my first attempt. I’m currently on an H-4 visa without an EAD. Can I legally volunteer for a nonprofit to complete my 60 pro bono hours without jeopardizing my status? I know what the law says, but I’d love to hear from anyone who’s personally been in this situation! 🙏

Hello guys I want to ask if anyone has any information of how the Dania beach border patrol station is like my husband just got detained today we got stopped by a cop for dark tints and they called border patrol to investigate his case, we recently got married and already filed all the paperwork to ask for him he were just waiting for the approval of the I-130 they said they had to take him in for fingerprints and to see a judge this happened early this morning at 8am I am looking and they still haven’t processed him, I went in person and they didn’t let me in they said that he will be prosessed and taken to another place. Please if anyone has any information about what the Dania beach border patrol station is like and how long they are usually kept there until they are prosessed please let me know. I-485 “place of last arrival” into the US

Hi all,
I am filling out my i485, and in Part 1, Item 11, it asks me for ‘place and date of last arrival into the US’. I flew from Toronto Pearson to LAX via Detroit, clearing customs in Canada. When I try to file online, it doesn’t give Ontario as an option under “state”, so I am unsure whether to put Toronto or Detroit. Any advice?

Canadian job overlap while starting a U.S. job on TN

I’m a Canadian citizen with an offer for a U.S. W-2 professional role, and the employer is preparing my TN application. My current Canadian employer may pay a year-end bonus after the U.S. role is expected to start. The U.S. employer wants me to begin soon and can’t delay.
Has anyone personally been in this situation? In particular, did you remain employed by the Canadian company while on approved leave, and did you perform any work for it while physically in the U.S.? What did you learn about the TN implications or questions at the border?
I’m trying to understand the difference between remaining on payroll while on leave and actively doing Canadian work from the U.S; I’m interested in firsthand experiences, not just guesses.

Travelling internationally, need advice

Thumbnail

I’m currently on STEM OPT and planning to travel internationally for around 60–65 days. My employer has approved the vacation, which will include some PTO and some unpaid leave. I won’t be working during this period.
Would taking such a long vacation create any issues with STEM OPT or raise additional scrutiny during re-entry to the US?
Also, I recently received a speeding citation requiring a court appearance, scheduled during my vacation. I’m consulting an attorney who may be able to appear on my behalf.
Could this citation or the pending court date cause any issues when returning to the US?
I’d appreciate hearing from anyone with similar experiences or relevant advice. Thanks!

AOSG 2nd Cousin

Hello I just want you insight about my cousin, I am a ofw in Thailand and my cousin got offloaded when she tried travelling on her own, she is employed but still got offloaded. The immigration officer handed her a paper that she could still travel if she has a relative that will provide her an AOSG. We are just second cousin, will she be offloaded again?
