Discussion Timeline makes no sense.

So Origins takes place 5 years before Asylum and Batman has been at it for 2 years. So by the time of Asylum, he's been batman for 7 years. So in the 5 years between Origins and Asylum, were supposed to believe that he met Dick Grayson, trained him as Robin till he grew up and became Nightwing, then found and trained Jason until the Joker "killed" him, THEN found Tim and trained him as the new Robin.shouldve made it 10 years.

Discussion Quiting Arkham Origins Playthrough

Post image
99 Upvotes

I just bought all the arkham games Asylum, City, Origins and Knight ina recent WB Sale
Played Asylum and CIty and has experienced PEAK
Now i was into origins and man the bugss.....
I played like 3 or 4 hours and was so deep into the game and some work came up so i saved it and thought will play it afterwards... the liitle i know there is no save file and i got bat to this point 😢
I had copmpleted 2 side missions and was 20-25% in the main story
Distroyed all the network relays in one sitting and defeated Deathstrock all in Hard
I just cant anymore so much time and energy wasted
Will just watch "Batman Arkham Videos"'s Playthrough and will move on to Knight

And Yes im not saying gameplay is not good.. infact it is a improvement over city and snowy gotham look baeutiful but the bugs made it so much worse for me
wished i had a console as all the arkham games are made with console first experience in mind

Help Question about the blue counter marker

I have been playing Arkham games since Arkham Asylum come out in 2009, and though out every game after the main story is completed, you can launch new game plus and the counter maker is stripped as you play new game plus. But is there any way to disable the counter marker, besides choosing new game plus? Even if it an unconventional way of doing so.

Discussion Mr. Freeze has to be one of the best boss fights in the series right?

So I've played the arkham games before, AA and AC and loved them, never bothered with trophies tho until now. Was doing the ng+ run for the achievement (Arkham city) and apart from some mildly difficult sections, the game was kind of easy, of course i died sometimes to some bosses, but I wasn't having much trouble because I did the RR challenges prior so it was a breeze ngl. Till I come across Fries, you know, even though the normal boss is decent enough, the ng+ version feels PERFECT, it's one of the best stealth bosses I've ever played and the absolute joy of just trying to remeber the multiple ways you can take out an enemy and applying it at the moment so organically is really something I have experienced very few times in videogames (and those few extra takedowns you have to do in ng+ REALLY make a differece because most of the game you just stick to maybe 3-4). It feels rewarding and fun as fuck.

Disclaimer: Haven't played origins yet and I've heard it has the best bosses, but ts is hard to top ngl

Best Arkham story?

I know this might be a hot take but after replaying all four Arkham games I genuinely think Origins has the best story in the series
Ive been playing these games since I was a kid back when Arkham City first came out and over the past year I decided to go back and replay all four games from start to finish
And honestly that just made me appreciate Origins even more
Dont get me wrong I absolutely love all four games but theres something about Origins that just hits different
The story is incredible from beginning to end and the boss fights are straight up masterpieces
I genuinely think Origins deserves way more credit especially when it comes to its story
But im curious what do you guys think
Which Arkham game has the best story and why

I have a love hate relationship with the combat in these games

We can all agree that the freeflow combat in the Arkham games is revolutionary, it set the seeds for the combat systems we have currently in, like, 90% of superhero games. I will always praise it for that, because, in theory, it should be practically perfect.

But thats where it ends for me, because most of the time the combat system just breaks for me. Im replaying City again currently, trying to 100 it completely, and these combat challenges are making me lose my fucking mind. Ill be literally in a group of thugs, Ill press the attack button while facing a thug and aiming my joystick at the enemy, and... Batman will just punch the air, repeatedly, before getting smacked across the head, completely ruining my combo and any chance I have at 3 stars on the challenge map. Ill use a quick gadget, again while looking at the thug I want to use it on and my joystick pointed towards them, and instead Batman will launch his gadgets at some random goon across the arena. Ill go to dodge out of an unblockable attack, aiming my joysticks away from any thugs so I dont roll into them, and Batmans dumbass will still dodge either into the group of enemies or even into the unblockable attack still.

And while I am certain I am still doing things wrong myself, when the game repeatedly refuses to listen to my inputs or chooses to target some random thug not even on my screen, Im left believing its less a skill issue and more a game issue.

The only reason I believe I am still part of the issue is because I face some of the same issues across ever Arkham game, Asylum, City, Origins, and Knight. But plenty of them still remain across all the games no matter what I do to improve my play style, so I am also certain that its also an issue with the games and combat system itself and not just me.

Does anyone else ever face these issues? And if so, what did you do to fix them? Because I love the Arkham games and dont want to shelf them because the combat system doesnt like me.

Both on sale on steam now, SAKTJL is CAD$4.50 and GK is CAD$11.99

Huge Arkham fan, but never really tried either of these, worth trying it for so little or no?

New Attention to Detail Founded!

So I just found out that an Arkham Knight whenever you use the explosive gel and you are near the blast radius, this actually affects the in world sound effects, temporarily making the game quieter for a good while!

That's so cool!
