The poor dude's computer crashed 46 times in a row today over a couple of hours before he finally got to play with his best friends, who are kindly helping him regain his lost points. Fortunately for him, one of his best friends is a beast, a 3000+ MMR dude who would wipe the floor with all the pros easily. He will be back in no time, unless his PC breaks down again the next day, mysteriously crashing again.

Seriously, how can you even crash a game 46 times in like 3 hours? Whatever happened to the dodge penalty? There is clearly a bug here, a way for them to skip the dodge penalty.

Fixing this bug, which has been around for years, would help a little bit, or not.

hey again — i posted about the daily quiz a while back, and since then i’ve added three more little games 🙂

• Unit of the Day — guess the hidden unit in 6 tries. each guess gives you clues about its civ, type, cost and more, so you can narrow it down.
• Which Is Higher? — two units, one question: which one has the higher stat? see how long you can keep your streak going before confidently picking the wrong one lol
• Sheep Hunt — scout through the fog and collect sheep before time runs out. apparently collecting sheep in actual matches wasn’t enough.

just some quick things to play when you feel like a bit of AoE4 without committing to a whole match.

This profile, which is supposedly #50 in teams, conq 3 with 48% winrate, seems to be constantly playing with his 2 bronze teammates (which are probably smurfing given they have 9/10 wins), but still never lose more than a single point ? And seem to win 80 points on average, despite winning against people that have half his elo ?

Last picture is genuinely crazy, +65 despite the +426 mmr.

He is taking no risk and the game keeps rewarding him for it ? Is he supposed to be #1 or something ? Cause he isn't that good tbh

What the fuck is going on in this matchmaking

In any other game, if you're playing with your lower elo teammates, you're losing more points and win less points, why is it the complete opposite here ?

Ever since I was a kid, I've dreamed of playing Age of Empires on the go, and it finally happened 😀. As far as I know, I'm the first to get Age of Empires IV running on Android. The video is from my AYN Thor, an Android handheld with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

It runs through GameNative, an app that plays your Steam games on Android, with a patched emulator and graphics driver I put together for it. AoE IV runs at about 60 FPS early in a 1v1 and about 47 FPS late in a 51-minute game, and you play it with the controller through the game's own controller UI. AoE II DE runs too, at a steady 60 FPS, and people who had been stuck on its splash screen for weeks now have it running on their own phones.

You need your own copy of the game on Steam. Everything else is free and open source, with a step-by-step guide:

Does this happen automatically?

For example, if I have the White Tower, School of Cavalry, or Burgrave Palace, and I select all production buildings (landmark is selected). Does it balance it all equally? How does that work if certain landmarks are more efficient and I queue up a large number of units? Do you lose efficiency b/c it's "equally" spreading to less efficient basic buildings?

Appreciate any insight!

I was playing with my brother and we played 2 times in a row against the same guys(both in ranked), first game we won and the second we won (and that one was hard) and yet the game doesn’t count it as a win and we never won any point
Has someone had this to happen ? Is it normal ?

What age range are you in?

How important is relic denial as a feudal all in player?

I would say right now this season with the civ i’ve been playing i’ve been pretty much strictly going feudal all in, My average match win is probably in the realm of 20-24 minutes. If it goes past 30 chances are i’ve lost.

I’m just curious since late games seem to be an issue for me i wonder how big of an impact relics are having on my matches.

I’m not gonna lie, I couldn’t even tell you what happens with the relics. I don’t pay any attention to them because chances are i’m not even going to hit castle before the match is over. Should i be leaving a couple units on the relics around the map just to make sure my opponent doesn’t get them? How many units should i put on each relic? Which unit would be best?

Mead is delicious and apiaries are awesome.

I have been playing English after coming back this season and I am just getting raided to death EVERY SINGLE GAME.

Sure I make lots of little mistakes but I can see my opponents making lots too. Just aoe 4 things ya know.

Even when I win it feels like I should’ve gotten destroyed at some point in the game and my opponent just didn’t capitalise on it

I’ve watched my games back and watched guides and I really can’t see a main problem that is getting me killed, I just don’t ever get enough units going after the 2tc

Hey everyone!

This Halloween, I decided to make a full zombie escape mod, inspired by the old CS 1.6 Zombie Plague / Zombie Escape maps.

The main idea is that you have to run through the map and try to get out alive while hordes of zombies chase you the whole way. I wanted to bring that same feeling of a relentless chase to AOE IV, adapting it to the game’s controls and combat.

So I added five playable classes:

• Knight who can push through the horde
• Landsknecht who can cut down zombies around him in one swing
• Crossbowman with explosive bolts and Molotovs
• Musketeer with the sickest gunpowder weapon of them all
• Monk, the most fun to play! he can summon roots from the ground to push zombies back or slow them down

Also COMPLETLY new features with the mod:

• Blood! Actual blood splatters and decals
• Full ragdoll physics for zombies
• Custom zombie AI

Another thing that these games have (will have) in common is a Civ with Villager auto-queue
Seeing how much of a issue some people see in Villager auto-queue i wanted to show this comparison not only as a fun parallel but also as a sign that this feature can be balanced, unique and interesting

Also want to point out for AoE4 players that AoE3 Ottomans were OP for quite a while (considering lack of patches) and their villager production is one of the main reasons
Because of their auto-queue Ottomans could Age Up to Colonial Age (Feudal) almost faster than any other Civ and Fast Fortress (Castle) or even Fast Industrial (Imperial) are very potent strategies with them (not only because of auto-queue but that's for another story)

I have 2 questions.

What do I do against hre burger? I tried 2tc and longbow rush. Wasn’t close either time. Yes my macro was a lil off but I’m sure his was too. Gold things

How do you protect your sprawling English eco on dry Arabia? I survived the initial onslaught after getting my 2tc down and was feeling good, but as my base expanded I just couldn’t defend it. There were no walling opportunities so I was just pinned with knights perma running around my base while he was doing whatever the hell he wanted at home

Currently having the time of my life on a 12 game reverse heater (conq1 to plat 3), can you beat that?

Not sure if this is allowed but I’ll try anyhow. I have been trying to get to Conq in 1v1 ranked since game release. Highest I made it was diamond III last season thanks to some coaching by Xardas as well as others who helped which were awesome but I am always looking for more advice.

Now I’m at diamond II this season and feel like I’m hitting a plateau again. I would do coaching again but just not enough time and honestly I’d rather be playing alone in my basement like the neck beard that I truly am. I only get to play 1-2 games max per night so it’s tough to even sit down and review replays. What I’m asking the community for is to review at least some of my games, write up some tips or things I need to work on and help me get to conq. I’ll pick the top 3 responses.

I’m a KT main for the past two seasons pretty much with ~ 150 games. My main strat is dark age aggression going into 1 tc feudal agro. I 2tc against English and HOL.

I need the most help against jap, gh, rus, and ottomans. I also need help on water maps. My recent water games I feel like I’m just ass against other diamonds and low conqs.

Open to any and all advice though( such as: should I even be dicking around with dark age ???). I think I’ve watched every single KT video on YouTube but always open to learning more. If you want to use me for a video or stream go right ahead.

Ranked team games is so f..king broken due to all the booster smurfs, like this one for example:

380 mmr in 2v2 but 1400+ in 4v4, teaming with nicks just like him, all dumped in various modes, this should not even be possible imo

Queuing 3v3 or 4v4 during prime time for some regions, most teams are made up of conqs + dumped booster (conq) smurfs like the above. It is SO frustrating to play against, loosing so many games to this BULLSHIT. And loosing so many players, most of my friends have quit aoe4 due to this never being fixed. And I seriously cant understand why nothing is ever done!?

So, devs/game managers. Its been 4+ years now and surely you are aware of this bullshit behaviour , why do you never fix this? There are lots of fixes you could do to improve team game match making to stop the non-stop never ending abuse of booster smurfs.

I really really want to know. I know you read Reddit sometimes. Please answer us!

For reference I am about Conq 1.. this matchmaking is the equivalent of me playing someone in Bronze 3 / Silver 1...

Absurd matchmaking recently.. stuck in lobbied with either players who are on another level of sweat or people who are majorly smurfing, can't talk about where they are from tho.
