From what fandom? And what was it about?

I think mine was for Death Note. LxOc, of course (lol). When I was about twelve years old. Oc had her own supernatural mascot (think it was a guardian angel. I conveniently forgot that Heaven and Hell aren't a thing in the Death Note world). He was supposed to eventually give her some plot armor later in the story. I don't remember how exactly this was supposed to work because I'm pretty sure I dropped the story four or six chapters in. A bit embarassing, but I do have fond memories about some ideas I loved and the entire writing process. I even had some active followers.

Recently read a fic that had a plot twist that almost made me stop reading, but the Author wrote everyone so well that I decided to stick with it, then after a few chapters I came around. Ended up loving the twist, even if it made me slightly uncomfortable at the same time lol.

Okay, so ao3 fics that use clever coding to be interactable are amazing and interesting and brilliant, BUT — sometimes they take it a bit too far

There's this fic I want to read. It's basically a conversation between two robots, that is hidden within a game of minesweeper. You reveal the conversation by playing the game. If you lose, the "connection" is lost, and you have to start over.

The problem is, I don't know how to play minesweeper. I can't get past like two moves because I have no idea what I'm doing. I can't access the damn fic

Saw this on my feed now and had to share with the class

Little did I know that I'd spend the next month setting up the plot, planning the world around the characters and when I finally get round to writing, I'd end up just focusing on them as characters, not the ship.. (it should be expected at this point).

I know it’s personal because this author gets hundreds to thousands of comments under every chapter of their fic. I’m devastated. I genuinely don’t know what I did wrong. I’ve never left a negative comment before (nor will I even if I don’t like the fic; I’m a believer in don’t like don’t read) and I’ve only made positive comments under their fics that can’t be interpreted in a negative way even if you tried. I don’t have bookmarks under my account and I haven’t written any fics so it’s not like they saw what I’ve read and judged me for it. I’m heartbroken I love this author so much…has this happened to anyone before? 😭

It's 37 chapters 200k words and going!

I have a fic that I've been posting anonymously for the past several months. It used to get quite a lot of comments compared to anything else I've written (about 10 per chapter) until suddenly everyone just ... disappeared.

For the last 6 chapters or so I would be lucky to get one comment and it's usually a bot. A part of me wants to finish the story, because I only have two chapters left. The other part feels so discouraged because all these people who followed the story from the beginning and praised the world building are just gone. I feel like I'm writing for a void.

I k now that I sound selfish and that I'm not entitled to receiving comments from anyone. But I can't help but feel completely discouraged. Even though I like the story I wrote and I want to finish it, I feel like nobody cares about it anymore, so why should I post it?

I want to know if this happened to anyone else and if you have any advice for me.

113 isn't nothing, but damn I was rly thinking the Twihards have had so many years and numbers to get creative, surely in the year of our lord 2026 I would see so much evidence of the fans wising up to threesomes... Never be like him or me. Yeah I wrote a guideline, several times because I decided to write a full fanfic instead of the one shot because I tent to go deeper than I should

I am someone who never got into a good habit of creating bookmarks so I just rely on my history for everything. And when I'm quickly scrolling my history for something, sometimes I notice that the "Clear Entire History" button looks like it's pressed. I live in fear of actually pressing it one day and clearing my entire history 😰

I am so relieved I no longer have to worry about clearing my whole history by accident.

I have an absolute fave reader. They comment on every chapter as it comes out, and are typically the only comment. I always wait to reply to their comment until I post the newest chapter (usually only a few days) that way when they come to read the comment there will be something new waiting for them. This is my latest comment from them.

Its really these kind souls that make writing so rewarding 💕

Even funnier with the chapter context: it ends with a character almost having sex, so I’m viewing it as a double entendre.
